Bewitched (FTU)

This tutorial was written by me on October 10th, 2015 and was written assuming you have a general knowledge of PSP and Animation Shop.  You will need the following supplies:

Paint Shop Pro - I used version X2

Animation Shop

"The Punishment" is an awesome FTU Sampler kit by Gothic Inspirations.  Download from her blog HERE and please remember to leave a thank you for hard work freely shared.  :)

"Bewitched" is a stunning tube by Katerina Koukiotis and is available to purchase at Digital Art Heaven.

Mask #166 from Gem's Taggin' Scraps HERE.

Eye Candy Nature - Fire

Font of Choice - I used Black Magic, HERE.

Drop shadow used: 2, 2, 72, 10

~ Remember to save often! ~

Place the mask in your PSP mask folder or a folder of choice.

Open a new image 800 x 800, you will resize later.

From the kit, open Frame 5 and resize 65%.  Copy and paste as a new layer.

Using the magic wand, click inside the frame.  Selections > Modify > Expand > expand by 5.

Open the tube and resize 70%.  Copy and paste as a new layer; move below the frame and arrange as shown.  Invert selection and tap delete.  Deselect.  Apply drop shadow above to the frame.

Open Tree and resize 85%.  Copy and paste as a new layer and move below the frame.  Hide the frame and tube layers and use the freehand selection tool to draw a selection around the grass to the left side of the tree, like this:

Selections > Promote Selection to Layer.  Tap delete and deselect.  Move the promoted layer to the front of the frame, duplicate two or three times and arrange to create the foreground.  Move the tree to the left behind the frame, see my tag for reference.  Duplicate, mirror and arrange on right side.  Duplicate again and move to the center, so the branches show above the frame.  I duplicated the center one again and moved it down to create a fuller look.  Drop shadow each layer.

Open Half Moon and resize 40%, copy and paste as a new layer above the background layer.  Move to the right side, drop shadow.

Open Pentagram and resize 20%.  Copy and paste as a new layer and sharpen.  Drop shadow.

Open Leaves and resize 50%.  Place at the bottom of the frame.  Duplicate twice and arrange behind the frame, see my tag for placement.

Open Web and resize 15%.  Copy and paste as a new layer and arrange within the tree branches.  Duplicate and mirror.  Drop shadow.

Open Raven and resize 35%.  Copy and paste as a new layer.  Drop shadow.

Open Candle and resize 60%.  Duplicate, resize 85%.  Duplicate, resize 85%.  Arrange the candles as shown and merge these three layers together.  Drop shadow.  Duplicate the merged layer twice for a total of three.  Rename Candle 1, Candle 2 and Candle 3.

Zoom in on your candle layer, activate your freehand selection tool and draw a selection around each candle flame.  You should have something that looks like this:

Hide Candle 2 and 3.  Make sure Candle 1 is the active layer.

Effects > Eye Candy Nature > Fire.

Under the Settings tab, select Small, Candle.

Under the Basic tab, change the settings to this:

Click OK.

Hide Candle 1; unhide Candle 2 and make it the active layer.

Apply Eye Candy Fire using the settings above, but click the Random Seed button once.

Repeat for Candle 3.

Activate the background layer and add a new raster layer.  Select all.

Open Paper 2 and paste into the selection.  Deselect.

Apply Gem's mask #166 and merge the mask group.

Crop your tag and resize all layers to a size you like, I resized mine to 675 x 675.

Add your name and all copyright and license information.

Time to animate!

Open Animation Shop.

In PSP, hide Candle 2 and 3.

Edit > Copy Special > Copy Merged.

In Animation Shop, Edit > Paste As A New Animation.

Back to PSP.  Hide Candle 1 and open Candle 2.  Edit > Copy Special > Copy Merged.

In Animation Shop, Edit > Paste > After Current Frame.

Repeat for Candle 3.

In Animation Shop, click Edit > Select All.

Click Animation > Frame Properties > change to 15.

Click View > Animation to see your tag in action.

Save as a gif and you're finished.  Enjoy your new tag!

Until next time ...
