Simple Elegance

This tutorial was written by me on April 24th, 2015 and was written assuming you have a general knowledge of PSP.  You will need the following supplies:

Gorgeous scrap kit "Simple Elegance" by Designs by Stina.  This kit has everything I love ~ lots of flowers, elegant elements and a beautiful colour palette.  Please visit Stina's blog HERE to find links to her stores.

I used the beautiful tube "Elizabeth" by Fiodorova Maria, available at Pics For Design.  You must have a license to use.

Mask #80 by Designs by Vaybs.

Filter: Xero Soft Vignette

Font of choice; I used Mea Culpa, a pay font.

Drop shadows used:

Tube: 0, 0, 40, 12 then 3, 8, 32, 15
Everything else: 2, 2, 53, 10

~~ Remember to save often! ~~

Place the mask in your PSP mask folder or a folder of choice.

Open a new image, 800 x 800, white background.

From the kit, copy and paste Frame 07 and resize 65%.

Using the magic wand, click inside the frame.  Selections > Modify > Expand > expand by 5.

Open paper 01 and resize 70%.  Copy and paste as a new layer and move below the frame.  Invert selection and tap delete.  Do not deselect.

Copy and paste your tube as a new layer; resize 80%.  Arrange in the frame and tap delete.

Add a new raster layer and flood fill with #abcdb6.  Deselect.  Hide this layer for now.

Apply Xero Soft Vignette to the tube layer with these settings:

Unhide the flood fill layer and change the blend mode to Color.  Reduce the opacity to 35.

Paste your tube once again; resize 40% and place on the right side of the frame.  Using the rectangle selection tool, draw a thin selection right along the bottom edge of the tube.  Selections > Modify > Inside/Outside Feather > select Both, Feather Amount: 10.  Tap delete once or twice to soften the hard edge.

Add your elements, I used:

Butterflies: resize 30%
Berries 01: resize 35%
Berries 02: resize 35%, then 85%.  Free rotate 10° left.
Birdie: resize 20%, then 80%; mirror
Birdcage: resize 50%
Foliage 01: resize 40% and flip.  Place on birdcage and erase excess.  Paste and resize again, arrange behind main tube.  Erase any bits you don't like.
Cluster: resize 60% and place below foliage behind tube.  Paste again, move below the frame and arrange on top of the birdcage.  See my tag for placement.  Paste once again; free rotate 90° left and arrange on the bottom left corner of the frame.  Erase some of the small flowers at the bottom, if desired.
Gems: resize 60%
Lantern: resize 40%
Pearls: resize 40%
Silk Flower: resize 20%
Silk Flower 02: resize 20%
Ribbon 01: resize 40%, then 70%

Apply drop shadows as desired.

Hide the background layer and merge visible.  Resize merged layer 85%.

Unhide background layer and add a new raster layer.  Select all.  Copy and paste paper 12 into the selection.  Deselect and apply DBV mask #80; merge the mask group.  Use the raster deform tool to adjust mask size and placement.  Duplicate the mask layer and merge these two layers.

Crop and resize your tag.  Add your name and all applicable copyright and license information.  Save as a png and you're finished!  Enjoy your new tag!

I'd love to see your results, email me HERE.

Until next time ...

Hugs,
