Beautiful Lady (FTU)

This tutorial was written by me on January 6th, 2015 and was written assuming you have a general knowledge of PSP.  You will need the following supplies:

Gorgeous scrap kit "Hopelessly In Love" by Horseplay's Pasture Designs.  This beautiful kit was formerly PTU but is now FTU.  Thanks so much for your generosity Bev!!

I used the stunning art of Alex Prihodko, "Cup Of Coffee" is available at Pics For Design.

Template #730 by Millie's PSP Madness.

Plug-ins used: Eye Candy 4000 Gradient Glow & Xero Radiance.

Font: I used Inspiration, a pay font.

Drop shadows used:

Template layers: 0, 0, 57, 12
Tube: 2, 2, 57, 12
Elements: 2, 2, 57, 8

~~ Remember to save often! ~~

Place the mask in your PSP mask folder or a folder of your choice.

Open the template in PSP, shift + d to duplicate and close the original.

Resize all layers 90%.  Change the canvas size to 750 x 750.  Unhide the background layer and flood fill the blank area with white.

Delete the top (credit) layer.

Link layers 11, 12, 13 and 14.  Move to the top right of the template.  See my tag for placement.

Activate layer 1.  Select all, float and defloat.  From the kit, open Paper 1 and resize 70%.  Copy and paste as a new layer; invert selection and tap delete.  Deselect and delete original layer.

Repeat these steps for the following layers:

2: use Paper 1
3 & 4: use Paper 8
5 & 6: use Paper 9
7: use Paper 4
9 & 10: use Paper 10.  Do not deselect.  Copy and paste the tube as a new layer, resize 50% and arrange within the selection.  Tap delete and deselect.  Apply Xero Radiance with default settings.  Change the blend mode to Multiply.  Duplicate, mirror and arrange on other side.

Activate layer 12.  Select the magic wand tool with these settings:

Mode: Add (Shift)
Match mode: RGB Value
Tolerance: 10
Use all layers: unchecked
Contiguous: checked
Feather: 0
Anti-alias: unchecked

Left click each letter of "Beautiful" and flood fill with #6b0101.  Deselect.

Copy and paste the tube as a new layer and resize 50%, then 90%.  Arrange as shown.  Move the word art if necessary (make sure they're still linked and all layers will move together.)

Add your elements, I used:

#1: resize 30%, then 75%; free rotate 20° right and arrange as desired.  Duplicate and mirror.
#28: resize 50%, duplicate and mirror.
#30: resize 30%, then 90%
#61: resize 80%, duplicate and arrange behind the template, see my tag for placement.  I used my eraser to remove some of the branches on the left side.
#72: resize 50%, erase the stem after placement
#73: mirror; resize 50%, then 85%, erase the stem after placement

Drop shadow all layers and make sure everything is arranged as desired.  Hide the background layer and merge visible.  Resize the merged layer 90%.  Unhide the background layer and add a new raster layer.  Select all.  Copy and paste paper 8 into the selection; deselect.

Apply Moonbeams & Spiderwebs mask #19 to the paper layer; merge the mask group.  Use the raster deform tool to adjust mask size and placement, if desired.

Add your name, I used Inspiration, size 72, colour black, stroke 0.  Place where desired.

Effects > Plug-ins > Eye Candy 4000 > Gradient Glow with these settings:

Under the Colour tab, select "Medium".  Left click to add a second paint pot almost half way across the graph, like this:

Make sure both are white.

Under the Basic tab:

Glow Width: 3.00
Soft Corners: 0
Overall Opacity: 100
Draw Only Outside Selection: checked

Click OK.  Apply drop shadow.

Crop and resize your tag.  Add all applicable copyright and licence information.  Save as a png and you're finished.  I hope you enjoy your new tag!  :)

Until next time ...
