Everyday is Pink Day (Tag)

This tutorial was written by me on August 18th, 2014 and was written assuming you have a general knowledge of PSP.  This is the matching tag for the forum set previously posted below.  :)

Supplies needed are listed in my forum set tutorial, HERE.  Additionally, you will need mask #111 by Designs by Vaybs.

Let's get started!

Place the mask in your PSP mask folder or a folder of your choice.

Open tag template #022; shift + d to duplicate and close the original.

Delete layers cr, 9, 10 and 11.

Change the canvas size to 750 x 750.  Unhide the background layer and flood fill the blank area with white.

Activate layer 1.  Select all, float and defloat.  From the kit, open paper 3 and resize 70%.  Copy and paste as a new layer and arrange as desired; invert the selection and tap delete.  Deselect and delete original layer.  Apply drop shadow: 0, 0, 58, 12.

Repeat these steps (unless otherwise noted) for the following layers:

2: use paper 3
3: use paper 1, add a new raster layer and paste into selection
4: use paper 4
5: use paper 4
8: use paper 1, resize 55%.  Do not deselect.  Copy and paste the tube as a new layer (do not resize) and use the eraser to carefully remove parts of the tube that extend beyond the selection.  See my tag for reference.  Drop shadow the tube: -4, 4, 25, 15.

Foreground: #d4bf86  Background: #e24a73

Change foreground to gradient: Select Foreground/Background from the drop down menu.  Angle: 45, Repeat: 7, Style: Radial, Invert: unchecked.

Activate layer 6; select all, float and defloat.  Add a new raster layer and flood fill with the gradient.  Deselect and delete original layer.

Activate layer 7; select all, float and defloat.  Add a new raster layer and flood fill with #f7efe6.  Deselect and delete original layer.  Drop shadow: 2, 2, 58, 5.  Repeat these steps for layer 12.

Add your elements and apply drop shadow 2, 2, 58,10 unless otherwise noted.  I used:

#2: resize 50%; duplicate, mirror and resize 85%.  Arrange on the top left side of the tag (see my tag for placement).  Merge these two layers together then duplicate.  Arrange at bottom right.
#10: resize 35%, duplicate and resize 85%
#12: resize 60%
#15: resize 60%; duplicate, mirror and flip.  Drop shadow: 1, 1, 20, 5
#21: resize 35%; duplicate and mirror
#22: resize 25%; duplicate and mirror

Hide the background layer and merge visible.  Resize merged layer 85%.

Unhide background layer and add a new raster layer.  Select all, copy and paste paper 5 into the selection.  Deselect and apply DBV mask #111, merge mask group.  Use the raster deform tool to adjust mask size and placement.

Crop and resize your tag.

Add your name and all applicable copyright and license information.  Save as a png and your tag and 3-part forum set is complete!

Thanks for trying my tutorial!  I'd love to see your creations, feel free to email me HERE.  Thanks!

Everyday is Pink Day!

This tutorial was written by me on August 18th, 2014 and was written assuming you have a general knowledge of PSP.  This is a 3-part forum set tutorial, starting with the forum tag and avatar.  The tag tutorial will be posted separately.  You will need the following supplies:

Beautiful "inspired by" scrap kit by BabyCakes Scraps.  The kit is Jennifer Janesko 68-2.  Both the kit and the tube are available for purchase at CDO.

Template #22 (three part set) from Creating With Millie.

Plug-in used: DSB Flux, Bright Noise (optional)

Font used: Plebeya Swash Caps, a pay font.  Any nice script font will work well.

Drop shadows will be displayed as a series of numbers; For example: 2, 2, 55, 10.  These are settings for Vertical, Horizontal, Opacity and Blur.

Remember to save your work often!

~~ Let's get started ~~

Open the Banner tag template; shift + d to duplicate, close the original.

Delete layers cr, 9, 10 and 11.

Activate layer 1; select all, float and defloat.  From the kit, open Paper 4 and resize 70%.  Copy and paste as a new layer and arrange as desired over the selection.  Invert selection and tap delete.  Deselect and delete the original layer.  Apply drop shadow 0, 0, 58, 12.

Repeat for Layers 2 and 3.  Use Paper 5 for layer 3.  Drop shadow.

Activate layer 4; select all, float and defloat.  Add a new raster layer.  Copy and paste Paper 3 into selection.  Deselect and delete original layer.  Repeat for layer 5.  Drop shadow.

Change foreground to #d4bf86 and background to #e24a73.  Change foreground to gradient - Foreground/Background, Angle: 45, Repeat: 7, Style: Radial, Invert: unchecked.

Activate layer 6.  Select all, float and defloat.  Add a new raster layer and flood fill with the gradient.  Deselect and delete the original layer.  Drop shadow.

Activate layer 8.  Select all, float and defloat.  Open Paper 1 and resize 50%.  Copy and paste as a new layer, invert selection and tap delete.  Do not deselect.

Open the tube, I chose to use the one without the feathers as I thought it covered too much of the tag, but it's up to you.  Copy and paste as a new layer and resize 120%, then 110%.  Adjust > Sharpness > Sharpen More.  Apply drop shadow 2, 5, 35, 18.

Activate layer 7; select all, float and defloat.  Add a new raster layer and flood fill with #f7efe6.  Repeat for layer 12.  Apply drop shadow, 2, 2, 58, 5.

Open element #68, do not resize.  Copy and paste above the background layer.  Duplicate, flip and mirror.  Arrange as shown on my tag.  Drop shadow.

Merge visible.  Add a new raster layer.  Using the magic wand, click anywhere on the new layer.  Flood fill with #e24a73.  Selections > Modify > Contract > contract 5 and tap delete.  Deselect.

Effects > DSB Flux > Bright Noise > Intensity: 47, Direction: Lighter.

Add your name.  If using Plebeya Swash Caps, I used size 72, stroke 0, colour #f7efe6.  If using a different font, you may need to adjust the size.  Apply drop shadow 2, 2, 58, 5.

Add all applicable copyright and license information, save as a png and you're finished the banner tag.  :)

Now let's make the avatar.

Open the avatar template, shift + d to duplicate; close the original.

Foreground: #d4bf86  Background: #e24a73

Change foreground to gradient with the settings shown above.

Activate layer 1; select all, float and defloat.  Add a new raster layer and flood fill with the gradient.  Deselect and delete the original layer.

Activate layer 2, select all, float and defloat.  Add a new raster layer.  Copy and paste Paper 4 into the selection.  Deselect and delete original layer.

Activate layer 4, select all, float and defloat.  Add a new raster layer.  Flood fill with the gradient; same settings except check the Invert box this time.  Deselect and delete the original layer.  Apply drop shadow, 0, 0, 58, 12.

Activate layer 5; select all, float and defloat.  Open paper 1 and resize 30%, then 55%.  Copy and paste as a new layer; invert the selection and tap delete.  Deselect and delete original layer.  Drop shadow.

Foreground: #f7efe6  Background: #161611

Activate the colour replacer tool (in the fly-out menu under the paint brush) and change the settings to:

Size: 999
Hardness: 100
Step: 10
Density: 100
Thickness: 100
Rotation: 0
Tolerance: 100

Activate layer 3.  Center the brush in the canvas and left click once.  Apply drop shadow 2, 2, 58, 5.

Activate layer 6.  Select all, float and defloat.  Add a new raster layer and flood fill with #f7efe6.  Deselect and delete original layer.  Drop shadow.

Add your name.  I used Plebeya Swash Caps, size 48, colour #f7efe6.  Drop shadow.

Save as a png and your avatar is finished.  I hope you enjoy your new forum set, the matching tag tutorial is coming up next!
