Life Is Better at the Beach (FTU)

This tutorial was written by me on July 23rd, 2014 and was written assuming you have a working knowledge of PSP.  You will need the following supplies.

Beautiful free to use scrap kit by Spirit and Scraps called "Summer Fun".  Download from Creative Misfit Creations.

I used the gorgeous pinup art of Verymany, purchased from their online store HERE.  You must have a license to use their art.

Template #176 from Amy & Leah's Gimptastic Tuts.

Mask #90 from Aquarebel 315, HERE.

Font used: BaaBookHmkBold, HERE.

~~ Let's get started! ~~

Place the mask in your PSP mask folder or a folder of your choice.

Open the template in PSP, shift + d to duplicate; close the original.  Delete the credit layer.

Change the canvas size to 750 x 750.  Add a new layer and flood fill with white; send this layer to the bottom.

Activate layer 7.  Select all, float and defloat.  From the kit, open Myth-Paper 7.  Copy and paste as a new layer and resize 65%.  Invert selection and tap delete.  Deselect and delete the original layer.

Repeat these steps for the following template layers:

#6: Use Myth Paper 4, resize 65%
#5: Use Staci Paper 6, resize 65%
#4: Use Myth Paper 7, resize 65%  Do not deselect.  Copy the close-up tube and paste as a new layer.  Resize 50% and arrange as desired within the selection.  Tap delete and deselect.  Change the blend mode to Soft Light and duplicate.

Colour Palette:

Foreground: #ff4b54
Background: #ff8463

Activate layer 3; select all.  Add a new raster layer and flood fill with foreground colour.  Deselect and delete original layer.

Activate layer 2; select all.  Add a new raster layer and flood fill with background colour.  Deselect and delete original layer.

Change foreground to gradient.  From the drop down menu, select foreground/background.  Change the settings to:

Angle: 90, Repeat: 3, Style: Radial, Invert: unchecked

Activate layer 1; select all.  Add a new raster layer and flood fill with the gradient.  Deselect and delete original layer.

Apply drop shadow to all template layers except the hearts.  Use drop shadow of choice, or use my settings: 0, 0, 55, 12.

Drop shadow the hearts, I used 2, 2, 55, 10.

Activate Words 3.  Change the foreground to #189594 and the background to #0fac99.

Activate the Colour Replacer tool.

Use these settings:

Size: 999
Hardness: 100
Step: 10
Density: 100
Thickness: 100
Rotation: 0
Tolerance: 10

Center your brush in the canvas and left click once.

Repeat these steps for the following layers:

Words 2 Back: Foreground: #189594, Background: #976598
Words 2: Foreground: #f78e71, Background: #9ac35a
Words 1 Back: Foreground: #189594, Background: #7158bd
Words 1: Foreground: #f6d5a7, Background: #fbf9ef

Apply drop shadow of choice to all Words Back or use my settings: 2, 2, 55, 5

Open the main tube; copy and paste as a new layer.  Resize 50% and arrange on the left side, see my tag for placement.  Apply drop shadow of choice or use my settings: 0, 6, 30, 14.

Add your elements, I used:

#1: resize 50%
#3: resize 30%
#6: do not resize, duplicate
#9: do not resize, mirror
#21: resize 15%, then 85%

Apply drop shadow of choice to all but #6 or use my settings, 2, 2, 55, 10.

Hide background layer, merge visible.  Resize merged layer 85%.  Unhide background and add a new raster layer.  Select all.  Copy and paste Myth Paper 1 into the selection.  Deselect and apply AR315 mask #90.  Merge the mask group.  Use the raster deform tool to adjust mask size and placement if desired.

Colour Palette:

Foreground - #fad6a8
Background: #189594

Crop and resize your tag.  Add your name using BaaBookHmkBold font, size 65, stroke 2.  Place where desired and add a drop shadow.  I used 2, 2, 55, 5.

Add all applicable copyright and license information.

Save your tag as a png and you're finished!  I'd love to see your results!

Hugs, Carol♥︎
