Wearing the White Ribbon

This tutorial was written by me on April 3rd, 2014 and was written assuming you have a working knowledge of PSP.  You will need the following supplies:

"White Ribbon Day" is a fabulous tagger-size kit by Designs by Stina.  Please visit Stina's blog HERE to find links to her stores.  Thanks for another wonderful kit hun!

I used the wonderful artwork of Zindy S. D. Nielsen.  Zindy was with MPT when I purchased this tube but you can now purchase from her own store HERE.

Template #499 by Divine Intentionz.

Mask #79 by Designs by Vaybs.

Font: I used Aquarelle, HERE.

*Note: When referring to drop shadows, I use the following abbreviations:

V = Vertical
H = Horizontal
O = Opacity
B = Blur

~~ Let's get started! ~~

Place the mask in your PSP mask folder or a folder of your choice.

Open the template in PSP, shift + d to duplicate; close the original.

Delete Raster 8, square frame and square back layers.

Resize all layers 85%; change the canvas size to 800 x 700.  Unhide the background layer and flood fill the blank area with white.

Activate Raster 6; select all, float and defloat.  From the kit, open paper 3 and resize 70%.  Copy and paste as a new layer; invert selection and tap delete.  Deselect and delete original layer.  Apply a drop shadow of choice or use my settings: V&H 0, O: 70, B: 15.  Apply this drop shadow to Raster 2 as well.

Repeat these steps for the following layers:

Copy of Raster 6: use paper 3
Raster 4 and Copy of Raster 4: use paper 1
Raster 3 and Copy of Raster 3: use paper 10
Frame Back 2 and Copy of Frame Back 2: use paper 7 (do not drop shadow)

Activate Raster 1; select all, float and defloat.  Open paper 4 and resize 70%.  Copy and paste as a new layer and arrange as desired.  Invert selection and tap delete.  Do not deselect.

Copy and paste the tube as a new layer and arrange of the left side within the selection, see my tag for reference.  Tap delete and deselect, delete the original layer.  Apply a drop shadow of choice or use my settings: V&H: 2, O: 65, B: 10.  Change the blend mode to Soft Light.

Paste the tube as a new layer and arrange on the left side of the tag.  Apply drop shadow above.

Apply drop shadow above to the frame layers.

Now add your elements, I used:

Bow 4: resize 35%
Clock: resize 45%
Flowers: resize 45%, duplicate twice
Lace Frame: resize 70%
Rose 1: resize 40%, then 90%.  Duplicate and mirror.
Rose 2: resize 40%.  Arrange the three rose layers as desired and then merge to one layer.  Free rotate 5° right and sharpen.
Word Art 4: resize 70%.  Duplicate and merge down (this darkens the image and makes it stand out more).

Apply drop shadow above to all elements.

Hide background layer and merge visible.  Resize merged layer 85%.  Unhide background layer and add a new raster layer.  Select all.  Copy and paste paper 4 into the selection.  Deselect and apply DBV mask #79; merge mask group.  Use the raster deform tool to adjust mask size and placement.

Crop and resize your tag.  Add your name using the Aquarelle font, size 65, stroke 0, colour white.

Apply an Inner Bevel with these settings:

(Colour is white)

Apply drop shadow above.

Add all applicable copyright and license information and you're finished!  Enjoy your new tag!

I always love to see your results, email me HERE.

Hugs, Carol♥
