Spring-A-Ling

This tutorial was written by me on February 27th, 2014 and was written assuming you have a general knowledge of PSP.  You will need the following supplies:

"SpringALing Tagger" is a wonderful scrap kit by Tezza's Dezignz.  This tag was created using only the elements from the kit.  :)  You'll find it at Heartbeatz Creationz

Mask #10 by Melissaz Creationz.

Font: I used Apple Butter, HERE.

~~ Let's get started! ~~

Place the mask in your PSP mask folder or a folder of your choice.

Open a new image, 750 x 750, white background.

From the kit, open Frame 2; do not resize.  Copy and paste as a new layer.

Open Cloud 2 and resize 40%; copy and paste as a new layer and arrange at the top right corner of the frame.  See my tag for placement.

Open Cloud, resize 35%; copy and paste as a new layer above the first cloud layer.  Arrange as shown.

Open Grass, do not resize.  Copy and paste as a new layer and arrange at the bottom of the frame.  Duplicate and move the copy in front of the frame.

Open Barnyard Sheep and resize 40%, then 70%.  Copy and paste as a new layer and arrange on the left side as shown.

Add a new raster layer above the background layer.  Change the foreground to #aadcdc and the background to #feef50.  Change foreground to gradient using these settings:

From the drop down menu, select Foreground/Background
Style: Radial
Angle: 50
Repeats: 7
Invert: checked

Flood fill the new layer with the gradient.  You should have something that looks like this:

(I had already added a few more elements before I did this step).

Activate your Move tool and move the gradient layer up and to the right.  Activate the frame layer and using the magic wand, click inside the frame and expand the selection by 5.  Activate the gradient layer again.  Adjust > Blur > Gaussian Blur > Radius: 10.  You should now have something that looks like this:

Invert the selection, activate the grass layer and tap delete.  Activate the gradient layer and tap delete.  Deselect.

Add the rest of your elements, I used:

Birdhouse: resize 70%
Birdhouse2: resize 80%
Birds: resize 40%
Birdie: resize 20%, then 85%
Puffles2: resize 50%, then 80%
Puffles3: resize 40%, then 85%
ButtonFlowerVine: resize 70%
Fence2: resize 30%; duplicate 3 times for a total of 4
Crocus: resize 40%
Daffodil: resize 30%
Gladiolus: resize 30%
Bee: resize 15%
Butterfly: resize 25%; duplicate and mirror

Apply a drop shadow of choice to all elements.  I used Vertical: 2, Horizontal: 2, Opacity: 50, Blur: 10.

Hide the background layer and merge visible.  Unhide the background layer and add a new raster layer.  Flood fill with the same gradient as above, unchecking the invert box.  Apply MC Mask #10 and merge the mask group.  Use the raster deform tool to adjust mask size and placement.

Crop and resize your tag.  Add your name with the following settings:

Font: Apple Butter
Size: 72
Stroke: 0
Colour #cb3b3c

Apply drop shadow above.

Save as a png and you're finished.  Enjoy your new tag and thanks for trying my tutorial.

I love to see what you create, email me HERE.

Hugs, Carol♥
