Promises To Keep

This tutorial was written by me on February 2nd, 2014 and was written assuming you have a working knowledge of PSP.  You will need the following supplies:

"Promises" is a beautiful tagger-size kit by Horseplay's Pasture Designs and is available at Scraps From The Heart.  Thanks so much for another gorgeous kit Bev!

Beautiful tube by Barbara Jensen, visit her store HERE.

Template #179 by Millie's PSP Madness.

Mask #1 by Horseplay's Pasture.

Plug in used: Eye Candy 4000, Gradient Glow

Font: Aquarelle, HERE.

*Note: When referring to drop shadows, I use the following abbreviations:

V = Vertical
H = Horizontal
O = Opacity
B = Blur

~~ Remember to save often! ~~

Place the mask in your PSP mask folder or a folder of your choice.

Open the template in PSP, shift + d to duplicate; close the original.  Delete Raster 1 and 6 and resize all layers 85%.  Change the canvas size to 750 x 750.  Unhide the background layer and flood fill the blank area with white.

Activate Raster 1; select all, float and defloat.  From the kit, open Paper 7 and resize 70%.  Copy and paste as a new layer and arrange as desired.  Invert selection and tap delete.  Deselect and delete original layer.  Apply a drop shadow of choice, or use my settings: V&H: 0, O: 55, B: 15

Repeat these steps for the remaining layers, except where noted.

Raster 2: Use Paper 12
Raster 3: Use Paper 5
Raster 4: Use Paper 12
Raster 5: Use Paper 7
Raster 7: Use Paper 5
Raster 8: Select all, float and defloat.  Add a new raster layer and flood fill with #112b31.  Deselect and delete original layer.  Apply drop shadow of choice or use my settings: V&H: 2, O: 55, B: 8
Raster 9: Use Paper 7; do not deselect.  Open element #7 and resize 50%.  Copy and paste as a new layer and arrange as desired on the left side within the selection.  Tap delete.  Paste as a new layer once again and arrange on the right side; tap delete and deselect.  Apply a light drop shadow to the element layers.  I used V&H: 2, O: 30, B: 5.

Resize the tube 95%; copy and paste as a new layer and arrange as shown.  Apply a drop shadow of choice.  I used V: 0, H: 8, O: 35, B: 15.

Add the rest of your elements, I used:

#17: resize 45%; duplicate and free rotate 7° right.
#25: resize 35%; duplicate and mirror, resize 85%.
#43: resize 69%
#47: resize 50%
#49: resize 10%
#53: resize 25%
#73: resize 40%
#74: resize 60%; free rotate 63° left and sharpen.  Duplicate, mirror, free rotate 17° right and sharpen.  Erase the top part of the stem.  Paste again, free rotate 90° left; sharpen.  Arrange these layers behind and within the leaves as shown in my tag.
#77: resize 35%

Apply a drop shadow of choice to all elements or use my settings: V&H: 2, O: 55, B: 8.

Hide the background layer and merge visible.  Unhide the background and add a new raster layer.  Select all; copy and paste Paper 18 into the selection.  Deselect and apply HP Mask #1; merge the mask group.  Use the raster deform tool to adjust mask size and placement.

Crop and resize your tag.  Add your name using a font of your choice, or use Aquarelle with these settings:

Size: 72
Stroke: 0
Colour: #112b31

Apply drop shadow above to name.  Add all applicable copyright and license information.  Save as a png and you're finished.  Thanks for trying my tutorial.  :)

I'd love to see your results!  Email me HERE.

Hugs, Carol♥
