Love Gives You Wings

This tutorial was written by me on February 1st, 2014 and was written assuming you have a working knowledge of PSP.  You will need the following supplies:

"Victorian Valentine" is a beautiful tagger size scrap kit by BabyCakes Scraps, available HERE.

"Flavia" is a gorgeous tube by Rachael Tallamy, available at Up Your Art.

Template #293 by Divine Intentionz, HERE.

Mask #11 by Dees'Sign Depot, HERE.

Font: Mardian Demo, HERE.

*Note: When referring to drop shadows, I use the following abbreviations:

V = Vertical
H = Horizontal
O = Opacity
B = Blur

~~ Remember to save often! ~~

Place the mask in your PSP mask folder or a folder of your choice.

Open the template in PSP, shift + d to duplicate; close the original.

Delete the following layers:

by missy
dotted line 3
words
pixel words
thin rectangle
glittered thin rectangle
dotted line 1 & 2

Resize all layers 85%, change the canvas size to 800 x 700.  Unhide the background layer and flood fill the blank area with white.

Activate glittered oval half 1; select all, float and defloat.  Add a new raster layer and flood fill with #7c1532.  Deselect.  Adjust > Add/Remove Noise > Add Noise > Select Gaussian, 50%, Monochrome checked.  Apply a drop shadow of choice, or use my settings: V&H: 0, O: 53, B: 13.

Repeat these steps for glittered oval half 2, using colour #fbe2e8.

Activate oval layer; select all, float and defloat.  From the kit, open Paper 8 and resize 75%.  Copy and paste as a new layer; invert selection and tap delete.  Deselect and delete original layer.  Apply drop shadow above.

Repeat these steps for circle 1 and circle 2, using Paper 1.

Activate circle 3; select all, float and defloat.  Add a new raster layer and flood fill with #fbe2e8.  Deselect and delete original layer.  Apply noise with the same settings as above.  Apply drop shadow above.

Activate circle 4; select all, float and defloat.  Add a new raster layer and flood fill with #fbe2e8.  Delete original layer, do not deselect.

Copy the image that came with the tube and paste as a new layer.  Arrange as desired, invert selection and tap delete.  Deselect.  Reduce the opacity to 73% or as desired.

Resize the tube 85%, copy and paste as a new layer and arrange as shown.  Apply a drop shadow of choice, or use my settings: V: 2, H: 8, O: 27, B: 15.

Add your elements, I used:

butterfly: resize 45%, duplicate and mirror
blossom: resize 17%, duplicate and resize 85%; free rotate 7° left and sharpen.  Duplicate both and mirror.
bouquet 2: resize 50%; duplicate and mirror.
gold doodle: do not resize, copy and paste above background layer and arrange as shown.  Duplicate and mirror.  Duplicate both layers again and move the copy down.
vine: do not resize.
wings: resize 30%.

Apply drop shadow to all elements, I used: V&H: 2, O: 53, B: 8.

Hide the background layer and merge visible.  Resize the merged layer 85%.  Unhide the background and add a new raster layer.  Select all.  Copy and paste Paper 5 into the selection.  Deselect and apply DD Mask #11; merge mask group.  Use the raster deform tool to adjust mask size and placement.

Crop and resize your tag.  Add your name.  Here are the settings I used:

Font: Mardian Demo, Size: 65, Stroke: 0, Colour: #7c1532.  Apply drop shadow above.

Add all applicable copyright and license information.  Save as a png and you're finished!  Enjoy your new tag.  :)

I love to see what you do with my tuts, please email me HERE to show off your creations.

Hugs, Carol♥
