Bad Romance

This tutorial was written by me on February 3rd, 2014 and was written assuming you have a working knowledge of PSP.  You will need the following supplies:

"Enchanted Hearts" is a gorgeous tagger-size kit by Gothic Inspirations and is available for purchase at her store, HERE.  Visit her blog HERE.  Thanks for another stunning kit Jess!

Artwork by Anna Marine.  Her tubes are available for purchase at CDO.

Mask #25 by WeeScotsLass.

Font: Nightmare 5, available HERE.

*Note: When referring to drop shadows, I use the following abbreviations:

V = Vertical
H = Horizontal
O = Opacity
B = Blur

~~ Remember to save often! ~~

Place the mask in your PSP mask folder or a folder of your choice.

Open a new image, 800 x 800, white background.

From the kit, open Frame 5 and resize 70%.  Copy and paste as a new layer.  Using the magic wand, click inside the frame.  Selections > Modify > Expand > expand 5.

Open Paper 6 and resize 70%; copy and paste as a new layer and move below the frame.  Arrange as desired, invert selection and tap delete.

Copy and paste the tube (do not resize) as a new layer and arrange within the selection.  Use the eraser to remove parts of the tube that cover the frame at the bottom and sides.  Apply a drop shadow of choice to the tube, or use my settings - V: -6, H: 0, O: 55, B: 20.  Apply a drop shadow of choice to the frame, or V&H: 2, O: 70, B: 5.

Open Spatter and resize 20%, then 80%.  Copy and paste as a new layer and arrange behind the tube.  See my tag for placement.  Duplicate and mirror, resize 85%.  Duplicate once again if desired.  Apply drop shadow of choice, or use V&H: 2, O: 70, B: 8.

Open Butterflies and resize 75%.  Copy and paste as a new layer and arrange at the top right of the frame, behind the tube as shown.  Using the freehand selection tool set to rectangle, draw a selection around the white butterfly in the top right corner, like this:

Edit > Cut

You will now have this:

Edit > Paste As A New Layer.  Arrange this butterfly below the others, see my tag for reference.  You may need to use the eraser to clean up any stray pixels.  Duplicate the white butterfly; mirror and arrange on the left side.  Apply a light drop shadow of choice, or use V&H: 2, O: 35, B: 12

Add the rest of your elements, I used:

Butterfly1: resize 20%; free rotate 17° left and sharpen.  Duplicate and mirror.
Candle: resize 70%; duplicate, mirror and resize 85%
Clock: resize 50%, then 85%
Frog: resize 25%
Ground: do not resize; duplicate, mirror and move copy down a bit.
Grass: resize 50%; duplicate.
Locket: resize 20%
Love Potion: resize 30%
Wine: resize 30%

Apply drop shadow to all elements.  Hide the background layer and merge visible.  Resize the merged layer 80%.  Unhide the background and add a new raster layer.  Select all.  Copy and paste Paper 10 into the selection.  Deselect and apply WSL Mask #25.  Merge the mask group.  Use the raster deform tool to adjust mask size and placement.

Crop and resize your tag.  Add your name using a font of choice, or use Nightmare 5 with these settings: Size: 85, Stroke: 0, Colour #f9f9f9.  Apply drop shadow.

Add all applicable copyright and license information.  Save as a png and you're finished.  Thanks for trying my tutorial!

I love seeing what you create!  Email me HERE.

Hugs, Carol♥
