Home Creepy Home


This tutorial was written by me on August 28th, 2013 and was written assuming you have a general knowledge of PSP.  You will need the following supplies:

"Hi JinX" is a wonderful tagger-size kit for Halloween and it's adorable!  Created by Vicki of Gemini Creationz, you can purchase it from her store HERE.  Thanks so much Vicki!

Mask #205 by Gems Taggin' Scraps.

Font: I used Needleteeth Spooky, HERE.

~~ Remember to save often! ~~

Place the mask in your PSP mask folder or a folder of your choice.

Open a new image, 750 x 750, white background.

From the kit, open frame2 and resize 80%.  Copy and paste as a new layer.  Using the magic wand, click inside the frame.  Selections > Modify > Expand > expand 5.

Open Paper 10 and resize 70%.  Copy and paste as a new layer and move below the frame.  Invert selection and tap delete.  Do not deselect.

Open hauntedhouse and resize 55%.  Copy and paste as a new layer above the paper and arrange on the left side (see my tag for placement).

Open tree and resize 40%.  Copy and paste as a a new layer and move below the house.  Arrange as shown, on the right side of the house.

Open ghost and resize 15%; copy and paste as a new layer below the tree.  Free rotate 12° left.  Duplicate, mirror and resize 85%.

Add the other elements, I used:

count: resize 60%, then 95%
witch: resize 55%, then 95%
emopup: resize 40%
eyeball: resize 10%, then 70%
moon: resize 40%
funkyswirl2: resize 40%; duplicate, mirror and resize 85%
starscatter: resize 60%; duplicate

Apply drop shadow to all elements, I used H&V 2, Opacity 62, Blur 10.

Hide background layer and merge visible.  Unhide background layer and add a new raster layer.  Select all.  Copy and paste Paper 4 into the selection.  Deselect and apply Gem's mask #205 and merge the mask group.

Crop and resize your tag.

Add your name, using Needleteeth Spooky font, size 90, stroke 0, colour #f4f260.  Apply drop shadow of choice; I used H&V 2, Opacity 62, Blur 5.

Add copyright info and save as a png.  Enjoy your new tag!

Misty Morning


This tutorial was written by me on August 27th, 2013 and was written assuming you have a general knowledge of PSP.  You will need the following supplies:

Beautiful artwork is ©Renee Lavoie.  This tube is entitled "Misty" and you will find it at PSP Tube Stop.

Mask #43 from Moonbeams & Spiderwebs.

Font used is "RBSpiral" and is a pay font.  Any fancy or swash font will work well.

Place the mask in your PSP mask folder or a folder of your choice.

Open a new image, 750 x 750, white background.

From the kit, open element #35, do not resize.  Copy and paste as a new layer.

Open the tube and resize 80%.  Copy and paste as a new layer and mirror.  Move below the frame and arrange.  Duplicate and move the copy above the frame.  Using the eraser, and working on the top (copy) tube, remove any part of the tube that covers the frame on the right and at the bottom.  Apply a drop shadow of choice to the bottom (original).  I used V -4, H 4, O 55, B 15.

Using the freehand selection tool, draw a selection around the frame and invert.

Open Paper 2 and resize 70%.  Copy and paste as a new layer above the background layer. Tap delete and deselect.  Apply a drop shadow to the frame, I used H&V 2, Opacity 55, Blur 10.

Add your elements, I used:

#24: resize 20%, then 85%
#25: resize 20%, then 80%
#34: resize 35%
#57: resize 45%
#52: resize 50% and mirror.  Using the eraser, remove part of the pin on the right side to make it look like it's pinned to the frame.  I used the Soften brush to blur the hard edges.  I used these settings:

Size: 10
Hardness: 50
Step: 10
Density: 100
Thickness: 100
Rotation: 0
Opacity 100

Apply the same drop shadow used on the frame to all elements.

Hide the background layer and merge visible.  Unhide the background layer and add a new raster layer.  Select all.  Copy and paste Paper 1 into the selection and deselect.  Apply MB & SW mask #43 and merge mask group.

Crop and resize your tag.  Add your name and all applicable copyright and license information.  Save as a png and you're finished!  Enjoy your new tag!

Joy Is A Basket Full Of Cats (FTU)


This tutorial was written by me on August 24th, 2013 and was written assuming you have a general knowledge of PSP.  You will need the following supplies:

"Joy Is A Basket Full Of Cats" is an adorable tube by Helena Reis and is available at PSP Tube Stop.

"Lovely Embrace" is a beautiful FTU kit created by Mirella at A Space Between.  Thank you so much for freely sharing your hard work hun!

Template is HH_Template6-FTH created by me for the "From The Heart" blog train.  It's one of six bundled together and available HERE.

Font: SC Tina's Baby Shower, HERE.

~~ Remember to save often! ~~

Open the template in PSP.  Delete the TOU and Heart Deco layers.  Change the canvas size to 800 x 800.  Activate the background layer and flood fill the blank areas with white.

Activate Small Rectangles; select all, float and defloat.  From the kit, open Paper 11 and resize 80%.  Copy and paste as a new layer, invert selection and tap delete.  Deselect and delete original layer.  Apply a drop shadow of choice, I used H&V 0, Opacity 45, Blur 12.

Activate Lrg Circle; select all, float and defloat.  Open Paper 13 and resize 80%.  Copy and paste as a new layer and arrange as desired.  Invert selection and tap delete.  Deselect and delete original layer.

For the three small circles, follow these steps:

Select all, float and defloat.  Add a new raster layer and flood fill selection with #e34d3f.  Do not select.  For the middle circle, resize the tube 80%, then copy and paste as a new layer and arrange within the selection.  Tap delete.  Deselect.  Change the blend mode to Screen. Delete the original layer.

For the other two circles, copy and paste the basket of cats (do not resize) and arrange within the selection.  Mirror the tube for one of them.

Apply a drop shadow of choice to all frames, I used H&V 2, Opacity 45, Blur 10.

Foreground: #e34d3f
Background: #d3cfa0

Change foreground to gradient with these settings:

Style: Radial
Angle: 45
Repeats: 7
Invert: unchecked

Activate Effect layer; select all, float and defloat.  Add a new raster layer and flood fill with the gradient.  Deselect and delete original layer.

Add your elements, I used:

#1: resize 50%
#5: resize 60%
#10: resize 45%
#25: resize 50%; free rotate 90° right and arrange behind the top circle.  Duplicate and mirror, then arrange behind the middle circle.  Duplicate again and free rotate 7° right and arrange behind the bottom circle.  Paste original once again (it will still be on the clipboard) and resize 50%.  Arrange across the top of the large circle frame.
#38: resize 80% and arrange above the background layer at the bottom of the tag.  Use the eraser to remove any hearts you don't want.  Duplicate and arrange at the top.

Copy and paste the tube as a new layer, resize 80% and arrange on the left side of the tag.  Apply a drop shadow of choice, I used V 2, H 8, Opacity 45, Blur 18.

Activate the text tool and type "Joy Is A Basket Full Of Cats" using these settings:

Font: SC Tina's Baby Shower
Size: 48
Stroke: 0
Anti-alias: Sharp
Create As: Vector
BG: #a91d21

Center the text in the large circle.  Layers > Convert to Raster Layer.  Apply the same drop shadow you used for the elements.

Hide the background and effect layers and merge visible.  Resize the merged layer 95%.

Crop and resize your tag.

Add your name using the same settings, but change the size to 72.  Apply drop shadow.

Save your tag as a png and you're finished, enjoy!

A Special Day (Animated)


This tutorial was written by me on August 19th, 2013 and was written assuming you have a general knowledge of PSP and Animation Shop.  You will need the following supplies:

"Behind The Mask Of Love" is a gorgeous kit by Tootypup Scraps, available in both full and tagger-size.  I used the tagger-size version for mine.  Please visit Susan's blog HERE for links to her stores.  Thank you for this beautiful kit hun!

I used a lovely tube & close-up by Anna Liwanag, who was with PTE when I purchased it.  You can now find her work at CDO.

Mask #80 by Vaybs.

Plug-in used: Xero Porcelain and Radiance; Xenofex 2 Constellation.

Font: I used Wedding Invitation 2, HERE.

Animation Shop.

~~ Remember to save often! ~~

Place the mask in your PSP mask folder or a folder of your choice.

Open a new image, 800 x 800, white background.

Copy and paste the main tube as a new layer.

From the kit, open Cameo Frame Plain_01 and resize 50%.  Copy and paste as a new layer and move below the tube.  Move to the upper left and arrange as shown.  Duplicate and move the copy to the lower right.  See my tag for placement.

Hide the main tube.

Using the magic wand, click inside the left frame.  Selections > Modify > Expand > expand 4.

Open Paper 03 and resize 55%.  Copy and paste as a new layer and move below the frame. Invert selection and tap delete.  Do not deselect.

Open the close-up tube, copy and paste as a new layer above the paper.  Arrange within the selection and tap delete.  Deselect.

Apply Xero Porcelain using these settings:

Repeat these steps for the right frame, resizing the close-up tube 80%.

Apply drop shadow to both CU tubes, I used H&V 0, Opacity 48, Blur 12.

Apply drop shadow to frames, I used H&V 2, Opacity 48, Blur 10.

Unhide the main tube and apply drop shadow, I used V 2, H 7, Opacity 23, Blur 15.

Using the rectangle selection tool, draw a selection along the bottom edge of the main tube.  Selections > Modify > Inside/Outside Feather > Choose "Both", Feather Amount: 15.  Tap delete a couple of times to soften the bottom edge.

Open Diamonds and resize 50%.  Move this layer so it's right above the background layer and arrange on the right side.  Duplicate and move the copy to the left side.  Merge these two layers together.  Select all, float and defloat.  Duplicate twice for a total of three.  Rename each layer Diamonds 1, 2 & 3.  Hide Diamonds 2 & 3 and activate Diamonds 1.

Apply Xenofex 2 Constellation using these settings:

Hide Diamonds 1, unhide and activate Diamonds 2.  Repeat Constellation, clicking the Random Seed button once.

Repeat this for Diamonds 3.

Open Diamonds 1 and hide 2 and 3.

Add your other elements, I used:

Bow_01: resize 30%
Butterfly_04: resize 15%
RoseVine_01: resize 50%; free rotate left 65° and move below the left frame.  Duplicate and mirror, arrange behind the right frame.
Rose_05: resize 10%, then 85%, duplicate and mirror.  Duplicate 2x and resize 80%.  Arrange around the frames as desired.  Duplicate 2x again and resize 50%, place each in the center of each bow.

Apply drop shadow to the elements; I used H&V 2, Opacity 48, Blur 10.

Type a saying of choice and place below the main tube.  I used "Once in awhile, right in the middle of an ordinary life, Love gives us a fairy tale."  I used the font Wedding Invitation 2, size 36, Stroke 0, colour #200000.

Apply drop shadow to the text, I used H&V 2, Opacity 48, Blur 5.

Open Rings and resize 12%, then 85%.  Copy and paste as a new layer and arrange beside the text, see my tag for reference.  Zoom in on the rings and draw a selection around the diamonds using the freehand selection tool.

Duplicate the rings layer twice for a total of 3.  Rename each layer Rings 1, 2 and 3.  Hide Rings 2 and 3, and activate Rings 1.  Apply the Constellation filter to each of these layers following the instructions above.  Hide Rings 2 and 3.

Activate the background layer and add a new raster layer.  Select all.  Copy and paste Paper_05 into the selection.  Deselect and apply Vaybs mask #80, merge mask group.

Crop and resize your tag.

Add your name and all applicable copyright and license information.

Time to animate!  Open Animation Shop.

Make sure the following layers are hidden:  Diamonds 2, 3 and Rings 2, 3.

Edit > Copy Special > Copy Merged.

In Animation Shop: Edit > Paste > As New Animation.

In PSP: Hide Diamonds 1, open Diamonds 2.  Hide Rings 1, open Rings 2.

Edit > Copy Special > Copy Merged.

In AS: Paste > After Current Frame.

Repeat these steps for the last two layers (Diamonds 3 and Rings 3)

In AS: Edit > Select All.
Animation > Frame Properties > change to 23

View > Animation to see your tag in action!  

Save as a gif and you're finished, enjoy your new tag!

The Heart Remembers


This tutorial was written by me on August 16th, 2013 and was written assuming you have a general knowledge of PSP.  You will need the following supplies:

Plug-ins used:

Xenofex 2: Constellation
Eye Candy Impact: Perspective Shadow

Font: I used Pantagraph Script, HERE.

Place the mask in your PSP mask folder or a folder of your choice.

Open a new image, 800 x 800, white background.

From the kit, open Frame08 and resize 60%.  Copy and paste as a new layer.

Using the magic wand, click the white space outside the frame.  Selections > Modify > Expand > expand 2.

Open Paper 1 and resize 70%.  Copy and paste as a new layer and move below the frame; arrange within the selection and tap delete.  Reduce opacity to 85%.  Do not deselect.  Apply Xenofex 2 Constellation.  Under the Settings tab, select "Star Field" and change the settings to this:

Add a new raster layer and send below the paper layer.  Flood fill this selection with white.  This is to insure any elements you place behind this layer won't show through.  :)

Open Table and resize 60%, copy and paste as a new layer and arrange on the bottom left side of the frame (see my tag for placement).  Tap delete.

Add the following elements and arrange so they appear to be sitting on the table:

CorkScrew: resize 15%, then 85%, then 90%
WineBottle: resize 15%
Wine: resize 10%, then 85%
Floral: resize 20%, tap delete

Open Moon and resize 30%, arrange at the top, as shown.  Tap delete.

Open Clouds and resize 60%, move below the moon and reduce the opacity to 61%.  Tap delete.

Open Lantern1 and resize 40%.  Copy and paste as a new layer, arrange as shown at the top.  Tap delete and deselect.

Add drop shadow to the elements, I used H&V 2, Opacity 70, Blur 5.

I decided I wanted to remove the excess in the outer part of the frame.  If you would also like to do this, use your magic wand to select all the parts of the outer frame (make sure you get the small bits!).  Selections > Modify > Expand > expand 2.  Activate each of the layers (white, paper, elements) and tap delete to remove them from that area.  Deselect.

Apply drop shadow above to the frame.

Copy and paste the tube as a new layer and move to the right side of the frame.  Apply drop shadow of choice, I used Perspective Shadow for this.  These are the settings I used:

Add your other elements, I used:

Cat: resize 40%
Flowers: resize 20%; duplicate and resize 85%; mirror
Lamp: resize 70%
Time: resize 25%
Tree1: resize 70%; duplicate and move down; apply the following drop shadow - H&V 2, Opacity 40, Blur 10
Tree 2: resize 70%; duplicate and move down
WordArt2: resize 70%; apply the following drop shadow - H&V 2, Opacity 60, Blur 5

Apply the following drop shadow to all elements, unless indicated otherwise above: H&V 2, Opacity 70, blur 10.

Hide the background layer and merge visible.  Resize the merged layer 85%.  Unhide the background layer and add a new raster layer.  Select all.  Copy and paste Paper 13 into the selection.  Deselect and apply Vaybs mask #79, merge the mask group.  Use the raster deform tool to adjust mask size and placement.

Crop and resize your tag.

Add your name and all applicable copyright and license information.  Save as a png, all done!

Love Takes Flight


This tutorial was written by me on August 15th and was written assuming you have a general knowledge of PSP.  You will need the following supplies:

Template #14 from Twyzted T's Playroom.  Thanks for all your wonderful temps hun!

Mask #11 from HorsePlay's Pasture.  Thank you for sharing your hard work Bev!

Plug-ins used: 

Eye Candy 4000, Gradient Glow
Eye Candy Impact, Perspective Shadow

Font: I used Fragrance, a pay font.  A web search will result in multiple links.

Place the mask in your PSP mask folder or a folder of your choice.

Open the template in PSP, shift + d to duplicate; close the original.

Resize all layers 85%.  Change the canvas size to 800 x 800 and delete the credit layer.  Add a new raster layer, flood fill with white and send to the bottom.

Activate Tri-Rec layer; select all, float and defloat.  From the kit, open Paper 02 and resize 70%; copy and paste as a new layer.  Invert selection and tap delete.  Deselect and delete original layer.  Apply drop shadow of choice, I used H&V 0, Opacity 50, Blur 14.

Activate Tri-Rec Frame.  Select all, float and defloat.  Add a new raster layer and flood fill with #d6cca8.  Deselect and delete original layer.  Adjust > Add/Remove Noise > Gaussian, 70%, Monochrome checked.  Apply drop shadow of choice, I used H&V 2, Opacity 50, Blur 10.

Repeat these steps for Circle Frame, but don't apply drop shadow at this time.

Activate Dotted Slants; select all, float and defloat.  Open Paper 18 and resize 70%.  Copy and paste as a new layer, invert selection and tap delete.  Deselect and delete original layer.  Apply drop shadow, I used H&V 0, Opacity 50, Blur 14.

Activate 4 Square and follow the steps above, using Paper 01.

Activate Circle; select all, float and defloat.  Open Paper 02 and resize 70%.  Copy and paste as a new layer, invert selection and tap delete.  Do not deselect.

Open the image that came with the tube.  Copy and paste as a new layer and move the image to the right and down so the top left corner is in your selection.  Tap delete and deselect.  Reduce the opacity to 50%.

Open your tube and resize 70%.  Copy and paste as a new layer and arrange over the frame, use my tag as a guide.

Activate the circle frame layer.  Using the magic wand, click inside the frame; invert selection.  Activate the tube layer again and using the eraser, remove the parts of the swan that cover the bottom part of the frame.  Don't touch the wing on the left side.  Deselect.

Apply drop shadow to the tube, I used Perspective Shadow for this with these settings:


Apply drop shadow to the circle frame.

Now add your elements, I used:

Beaded Swirl 02: resize 40%, then 95%; duplicate and mirror
Border 06: resize 40%
Flower Pot: resize 45%; duplicate and mirror
Flower 13: resize 30%
Flower 12: resize 30%, then 85%
Flower 14: resize 30%, then 85%; Free rotate 12° right.
Frame 12: resize 10%; free rotate 15° left.
Frame 13: resize 10%; free rotate 15° right.
Duplicate both hearts and resize 70%, arrange as shown, see my tag for reference.  Merge each pair together; duplicate your choice and resize 80%, mirror if you wish.

Apply drop shadow to all elements, I used H&V 2, Opacity 50, Blur 10.

Hide the background layer and merge visible.  Resize the merged layer 85%.  Unhide the background layer and add a new raster layer.  Select all.  Copy Paper 07 into selection; deselect.  Apply HorsePlays Pasture Mask #11 and merge mask group.  Use the raster deform tool to adjust mask size and placement.

Crop and resize your tag.  Add your name and apply Eye Candy 4000 Gradient Glow using these settings:

Under the Colour tab: 
Select "Medium" and change the colour to #e8ddb6.

Under the Basic tab:
Glow Width: 3.00
Soft Corners: 0
Overall Opacity: 100
Draw Only Outside Selection: checked

Click OK.

Add all applicable copyright and license information.  Save as a png and you're finished, enjoy your new tag!

Dark Angel


This tutorial was written by me on August 12th, 2013 and was written assuming you have a general knowledge of PSP.  You will need the following supplies:

Tube by Anna Marine, who was with CILM when I purchased it.  You can now purchase her tubes from CDO.

Template #32 by Tracy F. Designz.  Download from her blog HERE.  Scroll down and you will find bulk download links on the right side.

Mask #192 from Gems Taggin' Scraps.

Plug-ins used:

Eye Candy 4000 Gradient Glow
Xero Soft Mood & Radiance
Eye Candy Impact Perspective Shadow

Font used: Excellentia in excelsis, HERE.

Place the mask in your PSP mask folder or a folder of your choice.

Open the template in PSP, shift + d to duplicate, close original.

Delete the credit layer, change the canvas size to 800 x 700.  Add a new raster layer, flood fill with white and send to the bottom.

Activate the Circle layer.  Select all, float and defloat.  From the kit, open Paper 8 and resize 75%.  Copy and paste as a new layer and arrange as desired.  Invert selection and tap delete.  Deselect and delete original layer.  Apply a drop shadow of choice, I used H&V 0, Opacity 65, Blur 13.

Repeat these steps for the following layers, using the papers indicated or papers of your choice.

Square: Paper 3.  Do not deselect.  Open the tube and resize 70%.  Copy and paste as a new layer and position at the far left, as shown.  Use the eraser to remove any parts of the tube that overlap at the side and bottom.  Do not deselect.  Undo the resize of the tube and copy/paste as a new layer.  Move below and to the left of the original tube.  Tap delete and deselect.  Apply Xero, Soft Mood using the default settings, but change the Haziness to 100.  Click OK.

Apply Xero Radiance using these settings:


Adjust > Hue & Saturation > Colorize > Set both Hue and Saturation to 0.

Change the opacity to 65 - 70% depending on your preference.  Apply drop shadow above to the paper layer.  

I used Eye Candy Impact Perspective Shadow for the main tube using these settings:


Strip 1 & Strip 2: Paper 2, resize 75%.

Activate Dark Angel text layer.  Apply Eye Candy 4000, Gradient Glow using these settings:

Under the Colour tab: 

Choose "Fat", change the colour of both pots to #c8bbc0.  Slide the right pot slightly to the left.

Under the Basic tab:

Glow Width: 3.00
Soft Corners: 0
Overall Opacity: 100
Draw Only Outside Selection: checked

Click OK.

Apply drop shadow of choice: I used H&V 2, Opacity 65, Blur 5.  Apply the same drop shadow to Dark Angel text 2.

Activate the Dotted Lines; select all, float and defloat.

Add a new raster layer.  Zoom in and flood fill with #e0c7d0.  Deselect and delete original layer.  Apply drop shadow above.

Add your elements, I used:

#04: resize 65%
#06: resize 70%
#31: resize 80%
#51: resize 20%
#74: resize 80%

Apply drop shadow of choice, I used H&V 2, Opacity 65, Blur 10.

HIde the background layer and merge visible.  Resize merged layer 85%.  Unhide the background layer and add a new raster layer.  Select all.  Copy and paste Paper 1 into the selection.  Deselect.  Apply Gaussian Blur with a radius of 3.  Apply Gem's mask #192 and merge the mask group.  Use the raster deform tool to adjust size and placement.

Crop and resize your tag.  Add your name using Excellentia in excelsis or a font of choice.  Apply drop shadow, I used H&V 2, Opacity 65, Blur 5.

Add all applicable copyright and license information.  Save as a png, all finished!
