The Sorceress (FTU)


This tutorial was written by me on March 21st, 2013 and was written assuming you have a general knowledge of PSP.  You will need the following supplies:

A wonderful FTU (formally PTU) kit by Rissa's Designs called "Emerald".  Download from her blog HERE.  Be sure to leave a thank you for hard work freely shared!

Gorgeous artwork by Deanna Bach Talsma, this tube is called "Sorcerer" and is available at PSP Tube Stop.  Please don't use without a license.

Template #56 by Tracy F Designz.  Download from her blog HERE (scroll down to find template download links).

Mask #10 from Melissaz Creationz, HERE.

Font used: Lasting Love, HERE.

Place the mask in your PSP mask folder or a folder of your choice.

Open the template in PSP, shift + d to duplicate and close the original.

Delete Tracy F Designz layer.

Change the canvas size to 750 x 750.  Add a new raster layer and send to the bottom, flood fill with white.

Activate Bracket 1 layer; select all, float and defloat.  From the kit, open Paper 16 and resize 70%.  Copy and paste as a new layer and position within the selection.  Invert selection and tap delete.  Deselect and delete original layer.  Duplicate the paper layer and mirror.  Move this layer above Bracket 2 and position.  Delete Bracket 2.

Activate Oval layer; select all, float and defloat.  Open Paper 11 and resize 70%.  Copy and paste as a new layer, invert selection and tap delete.  Deselect and delete original layer.

Activate Circle layer; select all, float and defloat.  Open Paper 6 and resize 70%.  Copy and paste as a new layer; invert selection and tap delete.  Do not deselect.

Open the (sorcerer only) tube and resize 150%.  Copy and paste as a new layer and arrange within the selection, see my tag for reference.  Tap delete and deselect.  Change the blend mode to Multiply.

Apply drop shadow to template layers, I used H&V 0, Opacity 75, Blur 12.

Copy the sorcerer and cauldron tube and paste as a new layer.  Arrange as shown on my tag.  Apply a drop shadow of choice, I used H&V 0, Opacity 65, Blur 12.

Add your elements, I used:

Sparkle: do not resize; duplicate once
Plant01: do not resize
Plant02: resize 85%; mirror
Flower04 & 05: resize each 10%; duplicate and mirror each once
Wands01: resize 50%; free rotate 15 degrees right.
GemButterfly01: resize 12%, then 90%; free rotate 12 degrees left.  Duplicate twice, mirror once.
Flower01: resize 15%; duplicate and mirror
Sparkles01 & 02: do not resize; duplicate as desired and arrange above the background layer.

Drop shadow all elements, I used H&V 2, Opacity 65, Blur 10.

Hide the background layer and merge visible.  Unhide the background layer and add a new raster layer.  Select all.  Open Paper 3; copy and paste into selection and deselect.  Apply Melissaz Creationz mask #10 and merge the mask group.

Crop and resize your tag.  Activate the text tool and select Lasting Love font.  I used - Size: 90, Stroke: 1, Anti-alias: Sharp, Create as a Vector.  Set foreground to #d8d3d5 and background to #0e2609.  Type your name and position where desired.  Layers > Convert to Raster Layer.  Apply a drop shadow, I used H&V 2, Opacity 65, Blur 10.

Add all applicable copyright and license information.  Save as a png and you're finished!  Thanks for trying my tutorial.

Love Don't Live Here Anymore

This tutorial was written by me on March 17th, 2013 and was written assuming you have a general knowledge of PSP.  You will need the following supplies:

Scrap kit: I used an awesome scrap kit by Gothic Inspirations called "Love Don't Live Here".  Love this kit, it was so much fun to play with!  Thanks so much Jess!

Tube by Anna Marine, available at CDO.

Mask #119 by Designs by Vaybs.

Font: Rat Infested Mailbox, HERE.

Drop shadow used throughout, unless otherwise noted: H&V 2, Opacity 75, Blur 8.

~~ Remember to save often! ~~

Place the mask in your PSP mask folder or a folder of your choice.

Open a new image, 750 x 750, white background.

From the kit, open Frame 3 and resize 55%.  Copy and paste as a new layer.

Using the magic wand, click inside the frame.  Selections > Modify > Expand > expand by 5.

Open Paper 2 and resize 70%.  Copy and paste as a new layer.  Move below the frame and arrange as desired.  Invert selection and tap delete.  Do not deselect.

Open Tree1 and resize 40%.  Copy and paste as a new layer and arrange on the left side.  Tap delete.

Open House and resize 55%.  Copy and paste as a new layer; tap delete.

Open Dead Grass and resize 70%.  Copy and paste as a new layer; tap delete.

Open Fence and resize 80%.  Copy and paste as a new layer; tap delete.

Open Fog, do not resize.  Copy and paste as a new layer above the paper layer and arrange as desired.  Tap delete and deselect.

Resize tube 90%; copy and paste as a new layer and arrange on the right side of the frame.  Apply drop shadow.  I used V 2, H 7, Opacity 55, Blur 15.

Add your elements, I used:

WordArt 4: resize 60%
Blood Pool: resize 50%
Blood Splatter: resize 60%
Dying Flower: resize 30%; duplicate twice, mirror once
Tree 2: resize 70% and mirror
Lantern: resize 45%

Apply drop shadow indicated in introduction to all elements, including the frame.

Crop and resize your tag.  Add your name using the font Rat Infested Mailbox, size 48 to 72 (depending on the size of your tag and length of your name), Stroke 0, background colour #660000.  Apply drop shadow above.

Add all applicable copyright and license information.  Save as a png or jpg and you're finished!  Thanks for trying my tutorial.

Bunny Hugs


This tutorial was written by me on March 15th, 2013 and was written assuming you have a general knowledge of PSP.  You will need the following supplies:

I used an adorable full-size scrap kit by Clooney & Me Designs called "Bunny Hugs".  This kit is sooo cute!!  You'll find it at Bella Zingaro Studio.  Thanks for this awesome kit!

Easter template #2 from Twyzted T's Playroom.

Mask #223 from Gems Taggin' Scraps.

Font used: FB Fascination, HERE.

~~ Remember to save often! ~~

Place the mask in your PSP masks folder or a folder of your choice.

Open the template in PSP, shift + d to duplicate and close the original.

Delete the following layers: Raster 11, 2 and 13.

Resize all layers 80%.  Change the canvas size to 850 x 700.  Unhide and activate the background layer, flood fill the blank area with white.

Activate Raster 9; select all, float and defloat.  From the kit, open Paper 4 and resize 15%.  Copy and paste as a new layer and position as desired.  Invert selection and tap delete.  Deselect and delete the original layer.  Repeat these steps for Raster 10 and copy of Raster 10.  Apply drop shadow of choice, I used H&V 0, Opacity 50, Blur 12.

Activate Raster 4; select all, float and defloat.  Open Paper 10 and resize 15%.  Copy and paste as a new layer and position.  Invert selection and tap delete.  Deselect and delete original layer.  Apply drop shadow above.

Repeat for both copies of Raster 4.

Activate Raster 3; select all, float and defloat.  Open Paper 6 and resize 15%.  Copy and paste as a new layer.  Invert the selection and tap delete.  Deselect and delete original layer.  Drop shadow.

Activate Raster 5; select all, float and defloat.  Open Paper 3 and resize 15%.  Copy and paste as a new layer, invert the selection and tap delete.  Invert again, do not deselect.

Selections > Modify > Contract > contract by 3.

Open Paper 7 and resize 15%.  Copy and paste as a new layer, invert and tap delete.  Deselect and delete original layer.  Apply drop shadow, I used: H&V 0, Opacity 32, Blur 8.

Apply drop shadow to the original paper layer, I used H&V 2, Opacity 53, Blur 10.  Use this drop shadow for all frames and elements as well.

Activate Raster 6; select all, float and defloat.  Add a new raster layer and flood fill with #d6576d.  Deselect and delete original layer.  Apply a drop shadow of choice, I used H&V 2, Opacity 25, Blur 8.

Add your elements, I used:

Bunny3: resize 15%
Lamb: resize 15%, then 95%; mirror
Ducky: resize 10%
DuckieButton: resize 10%, then 80%
Chick1: resize 7%, then 85%
Chick2: resize 7%
Chick3: resize 7%
Eggs of choice: resize each 7%, then 85%.  Free rotate two of them 20 degrees to the left or right.  For the egg laying on its side, I used Egg 11 and resized 7%, then 85% twice.  Free rotate 70 degrees left.
Flower3: resize 20%, then 85%; duplicate and move copy to the other side as shown in my tag.
Leaf1: resize 15%; duplicate and mirror
Leaf2: resize 15%; duplicate and mirror
Butterfly1: resize 5%; duplicate and mirror

Drop shadow all elements.

Hide the background layer and merge visible.  Resize merged layer 85%.

Unhide the background layer and add a new raster layer.  Select all.  Open Paper 3; copy and paste into selection.  Deselect.  Apply Gem's mask #223 and merge the mask group.  Use the raster deform tool to adjust the size of the mask to your satisfaction.

Crop and resize your tag.  Add your name using FB Fascination - size 80, Stroke 1, AntiAlias set to Sharp and Create As a Vector.  Set background to #d6576d and foreground to #edf7d2.  Type your name and click OK.  Position as desired.  Layers > Convert to Raster Layer.

Save as a png or jpg and you're finished.  Thanks for trying my tutorial!

Hippity Hoppity ... Easter's On Its Way!


This tutorial was written by me on March 13th, 2013 and was written assuming you have a general knowledge of PSP.  You will need the following supplies:

I used a beautiful new Easter kit by Bev of Horseplay's Pasture Designs called "Cottontail's Trail".  What an adorable kit this is, I love the colour palette!  You'll find it at Scraps From The Heart.  Thanks so much Bev!

I used the wonderful art of Victoria Fox, this tube is entitled "Blue Bunny" and is available from Up Your Art.  Please don't use without a license.

Open the template in PSP, shift + d to duplicate and close the original.  Delete the following layers: Raster 16, 14, 15 and Raster 15 Shadow 1.  Resize all layers 80%.  Change the canvas size to 850 x 700.  Unhide the background layer and flood fill the blank area with white.

Activate Raster 4; select all, float and defloat.

From the kit, open Paper 12 and resize 70%.  Copy and paste as a new layer, invert selection and tap delete.  Deselect and delete original layer.

Repeat for Raster 5.

Activate Raster 2; select all, float and defloat.  Open Paper 11 and resize 80%.  Copy and paste as a new layer.  Invert selection and tap delete.  Deselect and delete original layer.  Apply a drop shadow, I used H&V 0, Opacity 53, Blur 12.

Activate Raster 13; select all, float and defloat.  Add a new raster layer and flood fill with #71a0d8.  Deselect and delete original layer.  Apply a drop shadow to the text, I used H&V 0, Opacity 40, Blur 3.

Activate Raster 3; select all, float and defloat.  Open Paper 1 and resize 70%.  Copy and paste as a new layer.  Invert selection and tap delete.  Deselect and delete original layer.  Apply the same drop shadow as Raster 2.

Activate Raster 6; select all, float and defloat.  Open Paper 2 and resize 70%.  Copy and paste as a new layer.  Invert selection and tap delete.  Deselect and delete original layer.

Repeat for Raster 7.

Apply drop shadow to all frame layers.  I used H&V 2, Opacity 53, Blur 8.  (Use this drop shadow for all elements as well).

Resize the tube 90%; copy and paste as a new layer and arrange as shown.  Apply drop shadow, I used V 2, H 5, Opacity 45, Blur 15.

From the kit, open Element #25.  Copy and paste as a new layer above the background layer.  Arrange as seen on my tag.  Duplicate, flip and adjust placement.  Merge these two layers and duplicate.  Free rotate the copy 90 degrees left or right.  Use the raster deform tool to pull the sides out, use my tag for reference.

Add your other elements, I used:

#4: resize 25%, duplicate and mirror
#7: resize 40%
#9: resize 20%
#12: resize 45%
#16: resize 60%
#37: resize 20%, then 85%; free rotate 75 degrees left
#38: resize 20%; free rotate 15 degrees left
#40: resize 20%; free rotate 15 degrees right
#41: resize 45%
#57: resize 50%
#78: resize 80%


Drop shadow all elements.


Activate the text tool.  Choose A&S Jiggy Roman and change the settings to:

Size: 72
Alignment: Center
Anti-alias: Sharp
Stroke Width: 1
Create as: Vector

Set foreground to #f9f59b and background to #71a0d8.  Type your name and click Apply.  Arrange at the bottom of the tag.  Click Objects > Align > Horizontal Center in Canvas.

Layers > Convert To Raster Layer.  Apply same drop shadow as used for the elements.

Add all applicable copyright and license information.  Save as a png or jpg and you're finished!  Enjoy your new tag and thanks for trying my tutorial.
