Winter Wonder

This tutorial was written by me on December 10th, 2013 and was written assuming you have a general knowledge of PSP.  You will need the following supplies:

"Northern Exposure" is a stunning tagger-size kit by Horseplay's Pasture Designs.  You can find it at Scraps From The Heart.  Thanks so much for this beautiful kit Bev!

I used the beautiful art of Deanna Bach Talsma, this tube is entitled "Kindreds - Chickadee" and is available at PSP Tube Stop.

Mask #11 by Horseplay's Pasture.

Font: I used Mr. DeHaviland, a pay font.  Do a google search to find various links for this font and similar ones.

~~ Remember to save often! ~~

Place the mask in your PSP mask folder or a folder of your choice.

Open a new image, 750 x 750, white background.

Open element 11 and resize 70%.  Copy and paste as a new layer.  Using the magic wand, click inside the frame.  Selections > Modify > Expand > expand 5.

Open Paper 16 and resize 60%.  Copy and paste as a new layer, move below the frame.  Arrange as desired, using my tag as a reference.  Invert the selection and tap delete.  Do not deselect.

Open the Kindreds On Branch tube and resize 45%.  Arrange within the frame and tap delete.

Open element 67 and resize 50%.  Arrange within the frame on the left side as shown; tap delete.

Paste the tree again and resize 40%; tap delete.  Duplicate, mirror and resize 70%.  Place the copy in front of the original on the right side.

Open element 46, do not resize.  Copy and paste as a new layer and move below the tube layer; tap delete and deselect.

Add the rest of your elements; I used:

Fairy: resize 35%, then 85%

Chickadee: resize 35%, then 85%

#2: resize 60%

#5: resize 60% and arrange at the bottom of the frame, on the left side.  Duplicate and mirror, arrange on the bottom right.

#6: resize 65% and move to the bottom, just above the background layer.  Duplicate and move the copy to the left side.

#19: reisze 30%, then 70%

#20: resize 30%, then 80%

#25: resize 70%, copy and paste above the background layer and arrange behind the top right corner of the frame; duplicate 3 times, mirror one of the copies and flip the other two.

#28: do not resize, duplicate and mirror

#35: resize 85%

#43: resize 50%

#66: resize 20%, then 85%.  Arrange as shown on the fence.  Duplicate twice, mirror once.

#69: resize 25%, then 90%

Apply drop shadow of choice to all layers, I used V&H 2, Opacity 58, Blur 8.

Hide the background layer and merge visible.  Unhide the background layer and add a new raster layer.  Select all.  Copy and paste Paper 9 into the selection; deselect.  Apply Horseplay's Pasture mask #11 and merge the mask group.  Use the raster deform tool to adjust mask size and placement.

Crop and resize all layers 85%.

Add your name, I used Mr. DeHaviland font, size 85, stroke 0, colour #ae1a22.

Add all applicable copyright and license information.  Save as a png and you're finished.  I hope you enjoyed this tutorial!

I'd love to see your results, email me HERE.

Hugs, Carol♥
