Lilac Frost

This tutorial was written by me on December 21st, 2013 and was written assuming you have a general knowledge of PSP.  You will need the following supplies:

"Lilac Frost" is a beautiful tagger-size scrap kit by Gothic Inspirations and is available at the Gothic Inspirations store HERE.  Thank you so much for this lovely kit Jess!

I used a stunning tube and close-up by Barbara Jensen.  You'll find her tubes at her store HERE.

Template #196 by Blissfully Beth.

Plug-in used: Xero Radiance

Mask #58 by WeeScotsLass.

Fonts used: Bank Gothic MD BT, HERE.
Burgues Script, a pay font.  Check out this site for lots of lovely free script fonts.

**Note: When referring to drop shadows, V=Vertical, H=Horizontal, O=Opacity, B=Blur.

~~ Remember to save often! ~~

Place the mask in your PSP mask folder or a folder of your choice.

Open the template in PSP, shift + d to duplicate; close the original.  Delete Raster 2, Word Art, center Black Frame and Black Stripe 1 layers.  Change the canvas size to 800 x 700.  Flood fill Raster 1 with white.

Activate the Aqua Circle layer in the lower left corner.  Select all, float and defloat.  From the kit, open Paper 3 and resize 60%.  Copy and paste as a new layer and arrange as desired within the selection.  Invert selection and tap delete.  Do not deselect.

Open the Frost element, do not resize.  Copy and paste as a new layer and arrange within the selection.  Tap delete and deselect.  Apply a drop shadow of choice to the paper layer, I used V&H: 0, O: 55, B: 15.  Delete the original layer.

Repeat these steps for the top right Aqua Circle layer.

Activate Black Stripe 2; select all, float and defloat.  Open Paper 12 and resize 60%.  Copy and paste as a new layer and arrange as desired.  Tap delete and deselect; delete original layer.  Apply drop shadow above.

Activate the text tool.  Font: Bank Gothic MD BT, Size: 14, Colour #151318.

Type Lilac Frost *-* 3 times and arrange on top of the stripe layer as shown.  Apply a drop shadow to the text, I used V&H: 2, O: 55, B: 10.  Merge the text and paper layers together.

Activate Pink Rectangle 1 layer and merge down, then merge down again so all rectangles are on the same layer.  Select all, float and defloat.  Open Paper 6 and resize 60%; copy and paste as a new layer.  Invert selection and tap delete.  Deselect and delete original layer.  Apply drop shadow, I used V&H: 0, O: 55, B: 15.

Activate the Aqua Circle layer; select all, float and defloat.  Open Paper 3 and resize 60%.  Copy and paste as a new layer, invert selection and tap delete.  Deselect and delete original layer.

Open Frame 5 and resize 55%.  Copy and paste as a new layer and arrange on top of the circle paper layer.  Using the magic wand, click inside the frame and expand the selection by 5.  Activate the paper layer.  Invert selection and tap delete.  Deselect.  Apply a drop shadow of choice to the frame, I used V&H: 2, O: 55, B: 10.

Activate White Circle 2; select all, float and defloat.  Open Paper 12 and resize 60%.  Copy and paste as a new layer; invert selection and tap delete.  Do not deselect.  Resize the close-up tube 50%, copy and paste as a new layer and arrange within the selection.  Tap delete, do not deselect.

Add a new raster layer and flood fill with #151318.  Change the blend mode to Colour.  Deselect.

Activate the tube layer.  Apply Xero Radiance with these settings:

Reduce the opacity to 85%.  Merge these three layers together (paper, tube, colour).  Repeat these steps for White Circle 3, mirroring the tube.

Resize the main tube 85%.  Copy and paste as a new layer and arrange in the middle of the tag.  Using the rectangle selection tool, remove the bottom part of the tube that covers the text strip.  Apply drop shadow of choice, I used V: 0, H: 5, O: 35, B: 20.

Activate the Black Circle Frame on the left.  Select all, float and defloat.  Open Paper 3 and resize 60%.  Copy and paste as a new layer.  Invert selection and tap delete.  Deselect and delete original layer.  Adjust > Add/Remove Noise > Add Noise > Gaussian, 85%, Monochrome checked.  Repeat for the second Black Circle Frame.  Drop shadow: V&H: 0, O: 55, B: 15.  Merge each frame layer with its corresponding layers.  I changed the placement of these circle layers, see my tag for reference.  You may choose to leave the placement as is, it's totally up to you.  :)

Add the elements, I used:

Berries: resize 25%; duplicate and mirror, duplicate again
Bling Flower: resize 35%; duplicate x3
Bush: resize 40%; duplicate and mirror
Cluster: resize 45%
Flower 3: resize 15%, then 70%
Flower 4: resize 35%; mirror

Apply drop shadow to all elements, I used V&H: 2, O: 55, B: 10.

Hide the background layer and merge visible.

Unhide the background layer and add a new raster layer.  Select all.  Open Paper 4 and paste into selection.  Deselect and apply WSL Mask #58; merge mask group.  Use the raster deform tool to adjust mask size and placement.  Crop your tag and resize all layers 80%.

Add your name using a nice script font.  I used Burgues Script, size 72, stroke 0, colour #151318.

Add all applicable copyright and license information.  Save as a png and you're finished.  I hope you enjoy your new tag and thanks for trying my tutorial!

I love hearing from you and seeing your results, email me HERE.

Hugs, Carol♥
