The Heart Remembers

This tutorial was written by me on August 16th, 2013 and was written assuming you have a general knowledge of PSP.  You will need the following supplies:

"Nostalgia" is a stunning tagger-size scrap kit by Gothic Inspirations.  You can find it at the GI store, HERE.  Thank you for another amazing kit Jess!

Tube by Irene Owens, who was with CILM when I purchased this tube.  You can now find her work at CDO.

Mask #79 by Designs by Vaybs.

Plug-ins used:

Xenofex 2: Constellation
Eye Candy Impact: Perspective Shadow

Font: I used Pantagraph Script, HERE.

~~ Remember to save often! ~~

Place the mask in your PSP mask folder or a folder of your choice.

Open a new image, 800 x 800, white background.

From the kit, open Frame08 and resize 60%.  Copy and paste as a new layer.

Using the magic wand, click the white space outside the frame.  Selections > Modify > Expand > expand 2.

Open Paper 1 and resize 70%.  Copy and paste as a new layer and move below the frame; arrange within the selection and tap delete.  Reduce opacity to 85%.  Do not deselect.  Apply Xenofex 2 Constellation.  Under the Settings tab, select "Star Field" and change the settings to this:

Add a new raster layer and send below the paper layer.  Flood fill this selection with white.  This is to insure any elements you place behind this layer won't show through.  :)

Open Table and resize 60%, copy and paste as a new layer and arrange on the bottom left side of the frame (see my tag for placement).  Tap delete.

Add the following elements and arrange so they appear to be sitting on the table:

CorkScrew: resize 15%, then 85%, then 90%
WineBottle: resize 15%
Wine: resize 10%, then 85%
Floral: resize 20%, tap delete

Open Moon and resize 30%, arrange at the top, as shown.  Tap delete.

Open Clouds and resize 60%, move below the moon and reduce the opacity to 61%.  Tap delete.

Open Lantern1 and resize 40%.  Copy and paste as a new layer, arrange as shown at the top.  Tap delete and deselect.

Add drop shadow to the elements, I used H&V 2, Opacity 70, Blur 5.

I decided I wanted to remove the excess in the outer part of the frame.  If you would also like to do this, use your magic wand to select all the parts of the outer frame (make sure you get the small bits!).  Selections > Modify > Expand > expand 2.  Activate each of the layers (white, paper, elements) and tap delete to remove them from that area.  Deselect.

Apply drop shadow above to the frame.

Copy and paste the tube as a new layer and move to the right side of the frame.  Apply drop shadow of choice, I used Perspective Shadow for this.  These are the settings I used:

Add your other elements, I used:

Cat: resize 40%
Flowers: resize 20%; duplicate and resize 85%; mirror
Lamp: resize 70%
Time: resize 25%
Tree1: resize 70%; duplicate and move down; apply the following drop shadow - H&V 2, Opacity 40, Blur 10
Tree 2: resize 70%; duplicate and move down
WordArt2: resize 70%; apply the following drop shadow - H&V 2, Opacity 60, Blur 5

Apply the following drop shadow to all elements, unless indicated otherwise above: H&V 2, Opacity 70, blur 10.

Hide the background layer and merge visible.  Resize the merged layer 85%.  Unhide the background layer and add a new raster layer.  Select all.  Copy and paste Paper 13 into the selection.  Deselect and apply Vaybs mask #79, merge the mask group.  Use the raster deform tool to adjust mask size and placement.

Crop and resize your tag.

Add your name and all applicable copyright and license information.  Save as a png, all done!

If you'd like to show me your results, please email me HERE.  I love to see what you do!

Hugs, Carol♥
