Love Takes Flight

This tutorial was written by me on August 15th and was written assuming you have a general knowledge of PSP.  You will need the following supplies:

"Perusing Passion" is a beautiful tagger-size kit by QueenBrat Designs and is available at her store HERE.  Thanks so much for this lovely kit Renee'!

Gorgeous artwork by Sue Miller.  This tube is called "Bell" and is available at Up Your Art.

Template #14 from Twyzted T's Playroom.  Thanks for all your wonderful temps hun!

Mask #11 from HorsePlay's Pasture.  Thank you for sharing your hard work Bev!

Plug-ins used:

Eye Candy 4000, Gradient Glow
Eye Candy Impact, Perspective Shadow

Font: I used Fragrance, a pay font.  A web search will result in multiple links.

~~ Remember to save often! ~~

Place the mask in your PSP mask folder or a folder of your choice.

Open the template in PSP, shift + d to duplicate; close the original.

Resize all layers 85%.  Change the canvas size to 800 x 800 and delete the credit layer.  Add a new raster layer, flood fill with white and send to the bottom.

Activate Tri-Rec layer; select all, float and defloat.  From the kit, open Paper 02 and resize 70%; copy and paste as a new layer.  Invert selection and tap delete.  Deselect and delete original layer.  Apply drop shadow of choice, I used H&V 0, Opacity 50, Blur 14.

Activate Tri-Rec Frame.  Select all, float and defloat.  Add a new raster layer and flood fill with #d6cca8.  Deselect and delete original layer.  Adjust > Add/Remove Noise > Gaussian, 70%, Monochrome checked.  Apply drop shadow of choice, I used H&V 2, Opacity 50, Blur 10.

Repeat these steps for Circle Frame, but don't apply drop shadow at this time.

Activate Dotted Slants; select all, float and defloat.  Open Paper 18 and resize 70%.  Copy and paste as a new layer, invert selection and tap delete.  Deselect and delete original layer.  Apply drop shadow, I used H&V 0, Opacity 50, Blur 14.

Activate 4 Square and follow the steps above, using Paper 01.

Activate Circle; select all, float and defloat.  Open Paper 02 and resize 70%.  Copy and paste as a new layer, invert selection and tap delete.  Do not deselect.

Open the image that came with the tube.  Copy and paste as a new layer and move the image to the right and down so the top left corner is in your selection.  Tap delete and deselect.  Reduce the opacity to 50%.

Open your tube and resize 70%.  Copy and paste as a new layer and arrange over the frame, use my tag as a guide.

Activate the circle frame layer.  Using the magic wand, click inside the frame; invert selection.  Activate the tube layer again and using the eraser, remove the parts of the swan that cover the bottom part of the frame.  Don't touch the wing on the left side.  Deselect.

Apply drop shadow to the tube, I used Perspective Shadow for this with these settings:

Apply drop shadow to the circle frame.

Now add your elements, I used:

Beaded Swirl 02: resize 40%, then 95%; duplicate and mirror
Border 06: resize 40%
Flower Pot: resize 45%; duplicate and mirror
Flower 13: resize 30%
Flower 12: resize 30%, then 85%
Flower 14: resize 30%, then 85%; Free rotate 12° right.
Frame 12: resize 10%; free rotate 15° left.
Frame 13: resize 10%; free rotate 15° right.
Duplicate both hearts and resize 70%, arrange as shown, see my tag for reference.  Merge each pair together; duplicate your choice and resize 80%, mirror if you wish.

Apply drop shadow to all elements, I used H&V 2, Opacity 50, Blur 10.

Hide the background layer and merge visible.  Resize the merged layer 85%.  Unhide the background layer and add a new raster layer.  Select all.  Copy Paper 07 into selection; deselect.  Apply HorsePlays Pasture Mask #11 and merge mask group.  Use the raster deform tool to adjust mask size and placement.

Crop and resize your tag.  Add your name and apply Eye Candy 4000 Gradient Glow using these settings:

Under the Colour tab:
Select "Medium" and change the colour to #e8ddb6.

Under the Basic tab:
Glow Width: 3.00
Soft Corners: 0
Overall Opacity: 100
Draw Only Outside Selection: checked

Click OK.

Add all applicable copyright and license information.  Save as a png and you're finished, enjoy your new tag!

If you'd like to show me your results, please email me HERE.  I love to see what you do!

Hugs, Carol♥
