Mermaid Bubble Bath

This tutorial was written by me on July 12th, 2013 and was written assuming you have a general knowledge of PSP.  You will need the following supplies:

Beautiful tagger-size scrap kit called "Sandy Toes and Salty Kisses" by Bev of Horseplay's Pasture Designs.  This is my second tutorial using this awesome kit, I just love it!!  My first tut, "Sunny Days and Sandy Toes" is HERE.  You will find this awesome kit at Scraps From The Heart.  Thanks so much Bev!

Beautiful artwork by Regan Kubecek, this tube is called "Bubbles" and is available at PSP Tube Stop.  Please don't use without a license.

Template #141 by Horseplay's Pasture.  Thank you again Bev!

Mask #70 by Vaybs.

Font: I used Circus Dog, a pay font.

~~ Remember to save often! ~~

Place the mask in your PSP mask folder or a folder of your choice.

Open the template in PSP, shift + d to duplicate; close the original.

Delete the credit and dotted line 1 layers.  Change the canvas size to 900 x 700.  Activate the background layer and flood fill the blank area with white.

Activate Rectangle 1; select all, float and defloat.  From the kit, open Paper 8 and resize 70%.  Copy and paste as a new layer and arrange.  Invert selection and tap delete.  Deselect and delete original layer.  Apply a drop shadow of choice, I used H&V 0, Opacity 53, Blur 12.  (Apply the same drop shadow to the following layers: Glitter Circle 1 & 2).

Repeat these steps for the following layers:

Rectangle 2: Paper 8
Strip 1: Paper 3
Circle 2: Paper 12
Strip 2: Paper 3

Activate Circle 1.  Select all, float and defloat.  Open Paper 3 and resize 70%, copy and paste as a new layer.  Arrange as desired, invert selection and tap delete.  Do not deselect.

Mirror the tube and resize 85%.  Copy and paste as a new layer and arrange within the selection (see my tag for reference).  Tap delete and deselect.  Change the blend mode to Soft Light.  Delete the original layer.  Activate the tube and undo the mirror.

Foreground: #667bbc

Activate Dotted Line 2; select all, float and defloat.  Add a new raster layer and flood fill with the foreground colour.  Deselect and delete original layer.  Apply a drop shadow of choice, I used H&V 2, Opacity 53, Blur 10.

Repeat for Dotted Circle layer.

Resize the tube 80%, copy and paste as a new layer and arrange on the left side of the tag.  Apply drop shadow.

Add your elements, I used:

#1: resize 75%.  Free rotate 50 degrees right and mirror.
#2: resize 50%
#5: resize 60%, duplicate and mirror.
#9: resize 90%, arrange in the large circle.  Apply a light drop shadow, I used H&V 2, Opacity 35, Blur 10.
#10: resize 30%, then 85%
#11: resize 80%; duplicate and mirror, duplicate again and arrange.
#13: resize 50%
#14: resize 30%
#15: resize 35%
#16: resize 55%; duplicate and mirror, duplicate 2x and arrange.
#20: resize 60%
#29: resize 40%; duplicate and mirror.
#44: resize 40%; duplicate

Apply drop shadow of choice to all elements, I used H&V 2, Opacity 53, Blur 10.

Hide the background layer and merge visible.  Resize the merged layer 80%.  Unhide background layer and add a new raster layer.  Select all.  Copy and paste Paper 12 into the selection; deselect.  Apply DBV mask #79 and merge the mask group.  Use the raster deform tool to adjust mask size and placement.

Crop and resize your tag.  Add your name; I used Circus Dog, size 95, stroke 1.  Foreground #fbfcfe, Background #14591e.  Type your name as a vector layer and place as desired.  Layers > Convert to Raster Layer.  Apply drop shadow above.

Add all applicable copyright and license information.  Save as a png and you're finished!

I'd love to see your results, email me HERE.

Hugs, Carol♥
