Beautifully Creepy

This tutorial was written by me on July 9th, 2013 and was written assuming you have a general knowledge of PSP.  You will need the following supplies:

Amazing scrap kit collab called "Dark Secrets".  Three very talented designers have contributed to this kit: Gothic Inspirations, Dees'Sign Depot and ChiChi Designz.  I've used the kit by Gothic Inspirations for this tag.  You can find this awesome collab at Gothic Inspirations.  Thanks so much Jess!

Wickedly wonderful art by Lady Fanhir (Stefania Russo).  This tube is called "Changes" and you will find it at Up Your Art.

Beautifully Creepy template from Moonbeams & Spiderwebs.

Eye Candy 4000; Gradient Glow

Mask #dmsk0670, download HERE.

Font: I used Creepygirl, HERE.

~~ Remember to save often! ~~

Place the mask in your PSP mask folder or a folder of your choice.

Open the template in PSP, shift + d to duplicate; close the original.

Change the canvas size to 950 x 900 (we'll resize later).

Delete the credit layer.  Activate Raster 1 and flood fill with white.

Activate Black Rectangle layer.  Select all, float and defloat.

From the kit, open Paper 4 and resize 80%.  Copy and paste as a new layer; invert selection and tap delete.  Deselect and delete original layer.  Apply drop shadow, I used H&V 0, Opacity 75, Blur 12.

Repeat the steps above for the following layers:

White Rectangle: Paper 2
Grey Rectangle: Paper 6, resize 70%
White Circle: Paper 2, resize 70%
Grey Circle: Paper 6, resize 70%
Black Circle: Paper 4, resize 70%.  Do not deselect.  Open the tube and resize 80%.  Copy and paste as a new layer and arrange within the selection.  Tap delete and deselect.  Change the blend mode to Luminance(L).  Delete original layer.
White Parenthesis: Paper 4; resize 70%

Activate Spiderweb Decoration.  Select all, float and defloat.  Add a new raster layer and flood fill with # 788073.  Deselect and change the blend mode to Colour(L).

Repeat the steps above for Spiderweb Parenthesis and Spiderweb Background.

Activate Wordart and apply this drop shadow: H&V 2, Opacity 75, Blur 5.  Apply the same drop shadow to Black Background Wordart.

Add your elements, I used:

Candle: resize 50%; duplicate, mirror and resize 85%
Branch: resize 80%
Tree2: resize 80%; duplicate, mirror and arrange as desired.  Erase excess.
Berries: resize 30%; duplicate and mirror
Raven1: resize 50%

Apply drop shadow to elements, I used: H&V 2, Opacity 75, Blur 10.

Hide the background layer and merge visible.  Unhide the background layer and add a new raster layer.

Foreground: #19393a
Background: #788073

Change foreground to gradient with these settings:

Style: Radial
Angle: 45
Repeats: 7
Invert: unchecked

Flood fill the new layer with the gradient.  Adjust > Blur > Gaussian Blur > Radius 15

Apply the mask dmsk0670 and merge the mask group.  Use the raster deform tool to adjust mask size and placement.

Crop and resize your tag.  I resized 73%.

Add your name using Creepygirl, size 95, stroke 0, foreground null and background white.  Type your name and position where desired.  Apply Eye Candy 4000 gradient glow using these settings:

Under the Colour tab:

Choose "Fat" from the list.  Click on the two pointers and change the colour of each to black.

Under the Basic tab:

Glow Width: 3.00
Soft Corners: 0
Overall Opacity: 100
Draw Only Outside Selection: checked

Click OK.  Apply drop shadow, I used H&V 2, Opacity 75, Blur 10.

Add all applicable copyright and license information.  Save as a png and you're finished!  Enjoy your new tag.  :)

I'd love to see your results!  Email me HERE.
