Hoo's There?

This tutorial was written by me on June 29th, 2013 and was written assuming you have a general knowledge of PSP.  You will need the following supplies:

"Twilight Fantasy" is a beautiful tagger-size scrap kit with bonus paper pack by Baby Cake Scraps.  Visit her blog HERE for links to her stores.  Thanks so much Lynne!

"Owl Moon" is an adorable tube by fantasy artist Lisa Victoria.  Her tubes are available at Up Your Art.

Template #133 by Horsplay's Pasture.  Thank you Bev!

Mask #1 from Dees'Sign Depot.  Thanks so much Dee!

Font: Caramel Candy, a pay font.  Any nice script font will be fine.

~~ Remember to save often! ~~

Place the mask in your PSP mask folder or a folder of your choice.

Open the template in PSP, shift + d to duplicate; close the original.

Delete the credit layer.  Change the canvas size to 800 x 800.  Activate the background layer and flood fill the blank area with white.

Activate Rectangle 1; select all, float and defloat.  From the bonus paper pack that came with the kit, open Paper 1 and resize 15%.  Copy and paste as a new layer.  Invert the selection and tap delete.  Deselect and delete the original layer.  Apply a drop shadow of choice, I used H&V 0, Opacity 75, Blur 12.

Activate Rectangle 2; select all, float and defloat.  From the bonus papers, open Paper 7 and resize 15%.  Copy and paste as a new layer, invert the selection and tap delete.  Deselect and delete the original layer.  Apply drop shadow.

Activate Rectangle 3; select all, float and defloat.  From the bonus papers, open Paper 8 and resize 15%.  Copy and paste as a new layer, invert selection and tap delete.  Deselect and delete the original layer.  Apply drop shadow.

Repeat for Rectangle 4.

Apply drop shadow to Circle Back.

Activate Circle; select all, float and defloat.  From the kit, open Paper 2 and resize 70%.  Copy and paste as a new layer, invert selection and tap delete.  Invert selection and apply Gaussian Blur with a radius of 15 (Adjust > Blur > Gaussian Blur > Radius 15).

Invert selection once again.

Copy the tube directly above the image and paste as a new layer.  Arrange as desired, then use the eraser to remove parts of the tube outside the circle.  Deselect and remove the moon.  Copy the moon that came with the tube and paste as a new layer.  Resize 50% and move beneath the owl.  Position as shown.  Apply drop shadow of choice, I used H&V 2, Opacity 75, Blur 10.

Add your elements, I used:

#2: resize 60%
#3: resize 60%
#25: resize 30%, then 90%
#13: resize 50%
#30: resize 50%
#33 & 34: resize each 20%; free rotate right or left 20 degrees and sharpen.  Duplicate as many times as you wish and scatter around the tag.
#36: resize 50%
#53: resize 35%
#55: resize 30%

Apply drop shadow to all elements.

Hide the background layer and merge visible.  Unhide the background layer and add a new raster layer.

Foreground: #70cbc4
Background: #1c1331

Change foreground to gradient with these settings:

Style: Radial
Angle: 45
Repeats: 5
Invert: unchecked

Flood fill the new layer with the gradient.  Apply gaussian blur with the same settings as above.

Apply Dees'Sign Depot mask #1 and merge mask group.

Crop and resize your tag, add your name and all applicable copyright and license information.  Save as a png and you're finished.  Thanks for trying my tutorial!

I'd love to see your results, email me HERE.

Hugs, Carol♥
