At The Bistro

This tutorial was written by me on April 13th, 2013 and was written assuming you have a general knowledge of PSP.  You will need the following supplies:

Scrap kit: I used a wonderful new kit by Designs By Stina called "Mama's Little Cook".  This kit is adorable, I love it!  Please visit Stina's blog HERE to find links to her stores.  Thanks so much hun!

Template: I used my template #8, download HERE.

Mask #20 by Dees'Sign Depot.

Font: I used Carattere Italic, which I believe is a pay font.  Try doing a web search for this or similar fonts.

~~ Remember to save often! ~~

Place the mask in your PSP mask folder or a folder of your choice.

Open the template in PSP, shift + d to duplicate and close the original.  Delete the credit layer.  Change the canvas size to 800 x 700.  Activate the background layer and flood fill the blank area with white.

Activate the Left Rectangle layer; select all, float and defloat.  From the kit, open Paper 1 and resize 70%.  Copy and paste as a new layer.  Arrange as desired, invert the selection and tap delete.  Deselect and delete the original layer.  Apply a drop shadow of choice, I used H&V 0, Opacity 55, Blur 12.

Repeat for Right Rectangle layer.

Activate Thin Rectangle-Left; select all, float and defloat.  Open Paper 7 and resize 70%.  Copy and paste as a new layer and arrange as desired.  Invert selection and tap delete; deselect and delete original layer.  Apply drop shadow above.

Repeat for Thin Rectangle-Right.

Activate the Centre Rectangle layer; select all, float and defloat.  Open Paper 2 and resize 70%.  Copy and paste as a new layer and arrange.  Invert selection and tap delete; deselect and delete original layer.  Apply drop shadow.

Activate Thin Rectangle-Top; select all, float and defloat.  Open Paper 2 once again and resize 75%.  Copy and paste as a new layer and arrange as desired.  Invert selection and tap delete; deselect and delete original layer.  Apply drop shadow.

Repeat for Thin Rectangle-Bottom.

Apply drop shadow to Glitter Frame layer.

Activate Oval layer; select all, float and defloat.  Open Paper 4 and resize 70%.  Copy and paste as a new layer.  Invert selection and tap delete; deselect and delete original layer.  Apply drop shadow.

Activate the Brush layer.  Select all, float and defloat.  Open Paper 8 and resize 70%.  Copy and paste as a new layer.  Invert selection and tap delete; deselect and delete original layer. Apply drop shadow.

Now add your elements, I used:

Bistro Table: resize 50%
Girl 01: resize 60%
Girl 02: resize 65% and place her on the left chair
Menu Board: do not resize
Cake: resize 10%
Pie: resize 10%
Preserves: resize 12%, then 95%
Bread Basket: resize 10%
Wooden Bowl: resize 10%; duplicate
Flower 01: resize 25%; duplicate and mirror

Apply drop shadow to all elements.  I used H&V 2, Opacity 55, Blur 10.

Add some "menu items" to the board.  If using Carattere Italic font, use Size 28, Stroke 0.  Set background to #fffbec.  Use what I typed or go your own way.  Apply drop shadow above.

Hide the background layer and merge visible.  Unhide background and add a new raster layer.  Select all.  Open Paper 6, copy and paste into selection.  Deselect and apply Dees'Sign Depot mask #20; merge the mask group.

Crop and resize your tag, then add your name.  I used Caraterre font, size 90, Stroke 1, foreground set to #fffbec and background set to #4d6d55.  Arrange where desired and apply drop shadow above.

Save as a png and you're finished.  Enjoy your new tag and thanks for trying my tutorial!

Hugs, Carol♥
