The Sorceress (FTU)

This tutorial was written by me on March 21st, 2013 and was written assuming you have a general knowledge of PSP.  You will need the following supplies:

A wonderful FTU (formally PTU) kit by Rissa's Designs called "Emerald".  Download from her blog HERE.  Be sure to leave a thank you for hard work freely shared!

Gorgeous artwork by Deanna Bach Talsma, this tube is called "Sorcerer" and is available at PSP Tube Stop.  Please don't use without a license.

Template #56 by Tracy F Designz.  Download from her blog HERE (scroll down to find template download links).

Mask #10 from Melissaz Creationz, HERE.

Font used: Lasting Love, HERE.

~~ Remember to save often! ~~

Place the mask in your PSP mask folder or a folder of your choice.

Open the template in PSP, shift + d to duplicate and close the original.

Delete Tracy F Designz layer.

Change the canvas size to 750 x 750.  Add a new raster layer and send to the bottom, flood fill with white.

Activate Bracket 1 layer; select all, float and defloat.  From the kit, open Paper 16 and resize 70%.  Copy and paste as a new layer and position within the selection.  Invert selection and tap delete.  Deselect and delete original layer.  Duplicate the paper layer and mirror.  Move this layer above Bracket 2 and position.  Delete Bracket 2.

Activate Oval layer; select all, float and defloat.  Open Paper 11 and resize 70%.  Copy and paste as a new layer, invert selection and tap delete.  Deselect and delete original layer.

Activate Circle layer; select all, float and defloat.  Open Paper 6 and resize 70%.  Copy and paste as a new layer; invert selection and tap delete.  Do not deselect.

Open the (sorcerer only) tube and resize 150%.  Copy and paste as a new layer and arrange within the selection, see my tag for reference.  Tap delete and deselect.  Change the blend mode to Multiply.

Apply drop shadow to template layers, I used H&V 0, Opacity 75, Blur 12.

Copy the sorcerer and cauldron tube and paste as a new layer.  Arrange as shown on my tag.  Apply a drop shadow of choice, I used H&V 0, Opacity 65, Blur 12.

Add your elements, I used:

Sparkle: do not resize; duplicate once
Plant01: do not resize
Plant02: resize 85%; mirror
Flower04 & 05: resize each 10%; duplicate and mirror each once
Wands01: resize 50%; free rotate 15 degrees right.
GemButterfly01: resize 12%, then 90%; free rotate 12 degrees left.  Duplicate twice, mirror once.
Flower01: resize 15%; duplicate and mirror
Sparkles01 & 02: do not resize; duplicate as desired and arrange above the background layer.

Drop shadow all elements, I used H&V 2, Opacity 65, Blur 10.

Hide the background layer and merge visible.  Unhide the background layer and add a new raster layer.  Select all.  Open Paper 3; copy and paste into selection and deselect.  Apply Melissaz Creationz mask #10 and merge the mask group.

Crop and resize your tag.  Activate the text tool and select Lasting Love font.  I used - Size: 90, Stroke: 1, Anti-alias: Sharp, Create as a Vector.  Set foreground to #d8d3d5 and background to #0e2609.  Type your name and position where desired.  Layers > Convert to Raster Layer.  Apply a drop shadow, I used H&V 2, Opacity 65, Blur 10.

Add all applicable copyright and license information.  Save as a png and you're finished!  Thanks for trying my tutorial.

Hugs, Carol♥
