Hippity Hoppity ... Easter's On Its Way!

This tutorial was written by me on March 13th, 2013 and was written assuming you have a general knowledge of PSP.  You will need the following supplies:

I used a beautiful new Easter kit by Bev of Horseplay's Pasture Designs called "Cottontail's Trail".  What an adorable kit this is, I love the colour palette!  You'll find it at Scraps From The Heart.  Thanks so much Bev!

I used the wonderful art of Victoria Fox, this tube is entitled "Blue Bunny" and is available from Up Your Art.  Please don't use without a license.

Easter template 1 from Twyzted T's Playroom.  While you're there, check out her other temps, they're awesome!

Font: I used A&S Jiggy Roman, HERE.

~~ Remember to save often! ~~

Open the template in PSP, shift + d to duplicate and close the original.  Delete the following layers: Raster 16, 14, 15 and Raster 15 Shadow 1.  Resize all layers 80%.  Change the canvas size to 850 x 700.  Unhide the background layer and flood fill the blank area with white.

Activate Raster 4; select all, float and defloat.

From the kit, open Paper 12 and resize 70%.  Copy and paste as a new layer, invert selection and tap delete.  Deselect and delete original layer.

Repeat for Raster 5.

Activate Raster 2; select all, float and defloat.  Open Paper 11 and resize 80%.  Copy and paste as a new layer.  Invert selection and tap delete.  Deselect and delete original layer.  Apply a drop shadow, I used H&V 0, Opacity 53, Blur 12.

Activate Raster 13; select all, float and defloat.  Add a new raster layer and flood fill with #71a0d8.  Deselect and delete original layer.  Apply a drop shadow to the text, I used H&V 0, Opacity 40, Blur 3.

Activate Raster 3; select all, float and defloat.  Open Paper 1 and resize 70%.  Copy and paste as a new layer.  Invert selection and tap delete.  Deselect and delete original layer.  Apply the same drop shadow as Raster 2.

Activate Raster 6; select all, float and defloat.  Open Paper 2 and resize 70%.  Copy and paste as a new layer.  Invert selection and tap delete.  Deselect and delete original layer.

Repeat for Raster 7.

Apply drop shadow to all frame layers.  I used H&V 2, Opacity 53, Blur 8.  (Use this drop shadow for all elements as well).

Resize the tube 90%; copy and paste as a new layer and arrange as shown.  Apply drop shadow, I used V 2, H 5, Opacity 45, Blur 15.

From the kit, open Element #25.  Copy and paste as a new layer above the background layer.  Arrange as seen on my tag.  Duplicate, flip and adjust placement.  Merge these two layers and duplicate.  Free rotate the copy 90 degrees left or right.  Use the raster deform tool to pull the sides out, use my tag for reference.

Add your other elements, I used:

#4: resize 25%, duplicate and mirror
#7: resize 40%
#9: resize 20%
#12: resize 45%
#16: resize 60%
#37: resize 20%, then 85%; free rotate 75 degrees left
#38: resize 20%; free rotate 15 degrees left
#40: resize 20%; free rotate 15 degrees right
#41: resize 45%
#57: resize 50%
#78: resize 80%

Drop shadow all elements.

Activate the text tool.  Choose A&S Jiggy Roman and change the settings to:

Size: 72
Alignment: Center
Anti-alias: Sharp
Stroke Width: 1
Create as: Vector

Set foreground to #f9f59b and background to #71a0d8.  Type your name and click Apply.  Arrange at the bottom of the tag.  Click Objects > Align > Horizontal Center in Canvas.

Layers > Convert To Raster Layer.  Apply same drop shadow as used for the elements.

Add all applicable copyright and license information.  Save as a png or jpg and you're finished!  Enjoy your new tag and thanks for trying my tutorial.

Hugs, Carol♥
