The Game Of Love

The Game Of Love

This tutorial was written by me on February 18th, 2013 and was written assuming you have a general knowledge of PSP.  You will need the following supplies:

Beautiful scrap kit created by Tootypup Scraps entitled "The Game of Love".  Please visit Susan's blog HERE for links to her stores.  Thank you for this gorgeous kit hun!

I used the pinup art of Ted Hammond.  Ted was with CILM when I purchased this tube but you can now purchase his work from CDO.  You must have a license to use.

Mask #80 from Signature Sensations.

Plug-in used: Eye Candy 4000, Gradient Glow.

Font: York Script ES Regular, HERE.

~~ Remember to save often! ~~

Place the mask in your PSP mask folder, or a folder of your choice.

Open a new image, 800 x 700, white background.

From the kit, open FrameCameo_01 and resize 45%.  Copy and paste as a new layer.

Activate the Freehand Selection tool and draw a selection around the frame, like this:

Open Paper_01 and resize 60%.  Copy and paste as a new layer and position within the selection.  Invert selection and tap delete.  Do not deselect.

Open the tube and resize 150%.  Copy and paste as a new layer and position within the selection, on the right side.  Tap delete, do not deselect.  Change the blend mode to Overlay.

Open Chess_02 and resize 50%.  Copy and paste as a new layer and position as shown.  Tap delete and deselect.

Open CardOfHearts_01 and resize 20%, then 80%.  Duplicate and free rotate 12.5 degrees left.  Duplicate the original once again and free rotate 25 degrees left.  Move the two copies below the original.  Duplicate both copies and mirror, arrange above the original layer.  Merge these 5 layers together and free rotate the merged layer 10 degrees left.  Arrange as shown.

Apply a drop shadow to the tube, frame and cards.  I used H&V 2, Opacity 55, Blur 10.

Copy and paste your tube as a new layer; move to the right of the frame.  Drop shadow.

Open ChessPieces_01 and resize 40%.  Copy and paste as a new layer and arrange by her hands (see my tag for placement).  Duplicate and move the copy below the tube.  Working on the original, zoom in and erase the parts covering her hand.  Apply a drop shadow of choice (see above) to the bottom layer (copy) only.

Add your elements, I used:

Flowers_01: resize 60%; duplicate
ChessKing_01a: resize 17%
ChessBishop_01a: resize 12%
ChessPorn_01a (I think she meant ChessPawn, ;^)): resize 10%; duplicate
Deco_01: resize 50%; duplicate
TheGameofLove_03: resize 30%

Apply drop shadow to all elements, using the settings above or of your choosing.

Hide the background layer and merge visible.  Unhide the background layer.

Set your background colour to #4d3042

Activate the text tool and choose York Script ES Regular.  Size 48, Stroke 0, Create as a Vector.  Type "It's all in the game of Love" and apply.  Arrange where desired and convert to a raster layer (Layers > Convert to Raster Layer).

Effects > Plugins > Eye Candy 4000 > Gradient Glow with these settings:

Under the Colour tab: choose "Medium" and set the colour to #f1f8ba.

Under the Basic tab:

 Glow Width: 3.00
Soft Corners: 0
Overall Opacity: 100
Draw Only Outside Selection: checked

Click OK.  Apply drop shadow, I used H&V 2, Opacity 55, Blur 5.

Add your name using the same settings, except set size to 72.  Apply the Gradient Glow effect using the same settings.  Drop shadow.

Activate the background layer and add a new raster layer.  Select all.  Copy and paste Paper_03 into the selection; deselect.  Apply Signature Sensations mask #80 and merge the mask group.  Use the raster deform tool to adjust size and placement if desired.

Crop and resize your tag.  Save as a png or jpg and you're finished.  I hope you enjoy your new tag!

Hugs, Carol
