Red Hot Lovers

This tutorial was written by me on February 3rd, 2013 and was written assuming you have a general knowledge of PSP.  You will need the following supplies:

I used a gorgeous new scrap kit by Horseplay's Pasture Designs called "Hopelessly In Love".  You can purchase it at Butterfly Blush.  Thanks so much for this beautiful kit Bev!

I used the artwork of Gary George, this beautiful tube is called "The Kiss" and is available at Up Your Art.  You must have a license to use.

Template #63 by Tracy F. Designz.  Scroll down for links to Tracy's templates.

Plug-in used: Penta Color Dot, HERE (scroll down).

Mask #80 by Vaybs.

Font used: Luxury Royale

~~ Remember to save often! ~~

Place the mask in your PSP mask folder or a folder of your choice.

Open the template in PSP, shift + d to duplicate, then close the original.  Delete "Tracy F. Designz" layer.  Change the canvas size to 850 x 750 using these settings:

Click OK.

Add a new raster layer and send to the bottom.  Flood fill with white.

Activate "square" layer; select all, float and defloat.  From the kit, open paper 9 and resize 70%.  Copy and paste as a new layer.  Invert selection and tap delete.  Deselect and delete original layer.

Activate "rectangle" layer; select all, float and defloat.  Open paper 9 again and resize 80%.  Copy and paste as a new layer.  Invert selection and tap delete.  Deselect and delete original layer.

Activate "circle" layer; select all, float and defloat.  Open paper 10 and resize 70%.  Copy and paste as a new layer.  Invert selection and tap delete, do not deselect.  Delete the original layer.

Copy and paste the tube as a new layer and arrange within the selection (see my tag for reference).  Tap delete and deselect.  Change the blend mode to Burn and the opacity to 55.

Activate the paper layer and apply Penta Color Dot using these settings:

Click OK.

Activate "heart 1" layer; select all, float and defloat.  Open paper 2 and resize 70%.  Copy and paste as a new layer.  Invert selection and tap delete; delete original layer.

Activate "heart 2" layer; select all, float and defloat.  Open paper 1 and resize 70%.  Copy and paste as a new layer.  Invert selection and tap delete; delete original layer.

Follow these steps for all the "glitter" layers:

Select all, float and defloat.  Add a new raster layer and flood fill with black; deselect.  Adjust > Add/Remove Noise > Add Noise > Gaussian, 75%, Monochrome checked.  Delete original layer.

Apply drop shadow to all glitter layers, I used H&V 2, Opacity 72, Blur 12.

Resize the tube 85%, copy and paste as a new layer and move to the right side of your tag.  Apply drop shadow above.

Add your elements, I used:

el1: resize 30%; duplicate, mirror and resize 85%.
el44: resize 50%; free rotate 20 degrees right; duplicate and mirror.  Arrange on left side of tag.
el54: resize 50%
el55: resize 35%; free rotate 20 degrees left.  Duplicate and mirror.
el62: resize 40%; duplicate and mirror, resize 80%.
el72: resize 60%; duplicate and mirror.
el73: resize 60%; duplicate and mirror.

Apply drop shadow to all elements, I used H&V 2, Opacity 72, Blur 10.

Hide the background layer and merge visible.  Resize merged layer 80%.

Unhide background layer and add a new raster layer.  Select all.  Copy and paste paper 2 into the selection.  Apply Vaybs mask #80 and merge mask group.  Use the raster deform tool to adjust size and placement.

Crop and resize your tag.

Using Luxury Royale JF font, size 30, colour #6f0101, type a saying of choice.  I used "Soul meets soul on lovers lips".  Arrange this at the top of your tag, see my tag for placement.  Drop shadow using settings above.

Using the same font, size 80, add your name and apply drop shadow.

Now add all applicable copyright and license information.  Save as a png or jpg and you're finished.  I hope you enjoy your new tag!

I'd love to see your results!  Email me HERE.

Hugs, Carol
