Angel of Music

Angel of Music

This tutorial was written by me on February 23rd, 2013 and was written assuming you have a general knowledge of PSP.  You will need the following supplies:

I used a stunning full-size kit by Stina of Designs by Stina called "Angel Of Music".  Please visit Stina's blog HERE to find links to her stores.  Thank you for this beautiful kit hun!

One tube of choice.  I used The Vintage Angel™ by Jessica Galbreth.  This tube is called "Renaissance Angel" and is available at CDO.  Please don't use without a license.

Mask #79 by Vaybs.

Font: I used Houston Pen, a PTU font.

~~ Remember to save often! ~~

Place the mask in your PSP mask folder or a folder of your choice.

Open a new image, 800 x 800, white background.

From the kit, open Frame 05 and resize 20%, then 85%.  Copy and paste as a new layer.

Using the rectangle selection tool, draw out a selection over the frame.

Open Paper 17 and resize 15%.  Copy and paste as a new layer, move beneath the frame.  Invert selection and tap delete; deselect.

Open Piano 02 and resize 10%, then 90%.  Copy and paste as a new layer and arrange within the frame, see my tag for placement.

Activate the rectangle selection tool again and draw out a selection from the base of the pillars to the bottom of the previous paper.

Open Paper 07 and resize 10%.  Copy and paste as a new layer above the previous paper layer; invert the selection and tap delete.  Deselect.  You should now have something that looks like this.

This is how it looks with the frame:

Drop shadow the frame and piano layers, I used H&V 2, Opacity 53, Blur 8.

Copy and paste your tube as a new layer and move to the right side of the frame.  Apply drop shadow, I used V 2, H 8, Opacity 40, Blur 15.

Using the rectangle selection tool, draw a very thin selection across the bottom of the tube.

Selections > Modify > Feather > Number of pixels: 7 > Click OK.  This will remove the hard edge at the bottom of your tube.

Add your elements, I used:

Music Sheet: resize 10%; free rotate 12 degrees left and sharpen.
Mirror: resize 15%, then 75%.
Phantom Mask 02: resize 15%, then 90%.
Rose Stem 01: resize 7%, then 80%; flip, mirror.
Music Notes 01: resize 30%.  Select all, float and defloat.  Add a new raster layer and flood fill twice with #4a0000.  Deselect and delete original layer.
Music Notes 02: resize 30%.  Repeat the steps above.
Word Art 02: resize 15%, then 75%.  Repeat the steps above.
Butterfly (comes with the tube): resize 25%; duplicate and mirror.

Apply drop shadow to all elements, I used: H&V 2, Opacity 53, Blur 8.

Hide the background layer and merge visible.  Resize the merged layer 90%.  Unhide the background layer and add a new raster layer.  Select all.  Copy and paste Paper 09 into the selection.  Deselect.  Apply Vaybs mask #79 and merge the mask group.  Use the raster deform tool to adjust the size and placement of the mask.

Add your name.  If using the Houston Pen font, use these settings: Size: 72, Stroke: 0, Create as a Vector, Colour #4a0000.  Type your name, click Apply and place where desired.  Layers > Convert to Raster Layer.  Apply drop shadow, I used H&V 2, Opacity 53, Blur 8.

Crop and resize your tag.

Add all applicable copyright and license information.  Save as a png and you're done, thanks for trying my tutorial!

Hugs, Carol♥
