Candlelight & Wine (PTU)

Candlelight & Wine

This tutorial was written by me on January 23rd, 2012 and is the result of my own ideas.  Any resemblance to any other tutorial is purely coincidental and unintentional.

PSP version used: X2, but should work in other versions.

This tutorial was written assuming you have a general knowledge of PSP.

Supplies Needed

Scrap kit of choice: "In Vino Veritas" is a beautiful tagger-size kit by Tootypup Scraps and available at Twilight Scraps.  Thanks so much Susan!

Tube of choice: I used the beautiful pinup art of Jennifer Janesko.  Jennifer was with CILM when I bought the tube but is now with CDO.

Mask of choice: I used #362 by Weescotslass.

Font of choice: I used Always Black, a pay font.  Exmouth is a nice free script font that would work nicely, download HERE.

Place the mask in your PSP masks folder or a folder of your choice.

Open a new image, 750 x 750, white background.

From the kit, open CameroFrame_01 and resize 55%.  Copy and paste as a new layer.

Using the magic wand, click inside the frame and expand by 5.

Open a paper of choice and resize 70%.  Copy and paste as a new layer and move below the frame layer.  Invert selection and tap delete.  Do not deselect.

Copy and paste the tube as a new layer and position within the frame.  Tap delete and deselect.  Apply a drop shadow of choice, I used H&V 0, Opacity 60, Blur 12.

Add your elements, I used:

ChampagneDeco_04: resize 36%
FlowerVine_02: resize 50%; erase any excess
FlowerVine_03: resize 40%
Candles_01: resize 50%
Vine_02: resize 35%; erase any excess

Drop shadow all elements; I used H&V 2, Opacity 60, Blur 8.

Hide background layer, merge visible.  Unhide background layer and add new raster layer.  Select all; copy and paste a paper of choice into selection; deselect.  Apply the mask and merge the mask group.

Crop and resize your tag.  Add your name and all applicable copyright and license information.  Save as a png or jpg and you're finished!

Moonbeams (PTU)

This tutorial was written assuming you have a general knowledge of PSP.

Supplies Needed

Scrap kit of choice: "Blue Magic" is a gorgeous kit by Cindy's Creative Designs and available at Butterfly Blush.  Thanks so much Cindy!

Tube of choice: I used a tube by Rebecca Cox, who was with CILM when I purchased it.  You can now get her tubes at ADI, you must have a license to use her art.

Mask of choice: I used mask #260 by Weescotslass.

Font of choice: I used Aphrodite Pro, a pay font.

~~ Remember to save often! ~~

Place the mask in your PSP masks folder or a folder of your choice.

Open a new image, 800 by 750, white background.

Add a new raster layer and select all.

Open a paper of choice, copy and paste into selection, deselect.  Apply the mask and merge the mask group.

From the kit, open corner1 and resize 45%.  Copy and paste as a new layer and arrange in the bottom left corner, as seen in my tag.  Duplicate, mirror and flip.  Apply a drop shadow to each, I used H&V 2, Opacity 48, Blur 10.

Resize the tube 85%, copy and paste as a new layer and arrange in the top left corner.

Add your elements, I used:

sparkles1: resize 50%
sparkles2: resize 35%
sign2: resize 45%
dragonflies: resize 30%
bird: resize 15%
flowers of your choice: resize each 15 - 20% (depends on your choice)
pebbles: resize 50%, mirror
bottle: resize 30%
leaves1: resize 45%
leaves2: resize 50%
butterflies2: resize 50%
butterfly1: resize 13%

Apply drop shadow above to all elements.

Crop and resize your tag.

Add your name and all applicable copyright and license information.  Save as a png or jpg and you're finished!

My Naughty Valentine (PTU)

My Naughty Valentine

This tutorial was written by me on January 20th, 2012 and is the result of my own ideas.  Any resemblance to any other tutorial is purely coincidental and unintentional.

PSP version used: X2, but should work with other versions.

This tutorial was written assuming you have a general knowledge of PSP.

Supplies Needed

Scrap kit of choice: "My Sexy Valentine" is a beautiful kit made by Niqui of Niqui's Designs and is available at Inspirations Of Scrapsfriends.  Thanks so much hun!

Tube of choice: I used the sexy pinup art of Jessica Dougherty, which also came with a close-up version.  You can purchase her tubes from CDO.  You must have a license to use her art.

Template of choice: I used one of my own templates, HERE.  I used template #6.

Font of choice: I used Mr. DeHaviland, a pay font.  Any nice script font will work just as well.  : )

~~ Remember to save often! ~~

Open the template in PSP, duplicate and close the original.  Delete the TOU layer, change the canvas size to 750 x 750.  Activate the background layer and flood fill the blank space with white.

Activate the Small Rectangles layer.  Select all, float and defloat.  Open a paper of choice and resize 70%; copy and paste as a new layer.  Invert selection and tap delete.  Deselect and delete original layer.

Repeat these steps for the Lrg Circle layer.  Before deselecting, copy and paste element 41 as a new layer and arrange within the selection.  Tap delete and deselect.

Activate the Top Circle layer, select all, float and defloat.  Add a new raster layer and flood fill with #9a0000.  Do not deselect.  Open the close-up tube, copy and paste as a new layer and arrange part of the tube within the selection.  Invert and tap delete.  Deselect and change the blend mode to Burn.

Repeat for Middle and Bottom Circle layers.

Apply a drop shadow of choice to rectangle layer and all frame layers.  I used H&V 0, Opacity 75, Blur 12.

Activate the Heart Deco layer; select all, float and defloat.  Add a new raster layer.

Foreground set to #9a0000, background to black.  Change the foreground to Gradient with these settings:

Style: Linear
Angle: 45
Repeats: 9
Invert: unchecked

Flood fill selection with the gradient, deselect.  Delete the original layer.  Apply drop shadow, I used H&V 2, Opacity 75, Blur 8.

Activate the Effect layer; select all, float and defloat.  Add a new raster layer and flood fill with the same gradient, checking the Invert box this time.  Invert selection and tap delete, deselect and delete the original layer.  Reduce opacity to 65%.

Copy and paste your main tube as a new layer and arrange as seen in my tag.

Add your elements, I used:

11: resize 23%
16: resize 20%, then 85%; free rotate 10 degrees left and sharpen
17: resize 20%
18: resize 17%
24: resize 30%, duplicate, resize 80% and mirror
25: resize 50%
34: resize 45%

Apply drop shadow above to all elements.

Crop and resize your tag.

Add your name, then select all, float and defloat.  Expand the selection by 2, add a new raster layer and flood fill with white, deselect.  Move below your name and apply drop shadow.

Add all applicable copyright and license information.  Save as a png or jpg and you're finished!

Love Letters (PTU)

Love Letters

This tutorial was written assuming you have a general knowledge of PSP.

Supplies Needed

Scrap kit of choice: "Love Letters" is a beautiful full-size kit by Stina of Designs by Stina and can be purchased at Scrap Wishes.  Thanks so much Stina!

Tube of choice: I used the gorgeous pinup art of Ted Hammond.  You can purchase his tubes from CDO.  You must have a license to use his art.

Template of choice: I used one of the wonderful templates from Twyzted T's Playroom, download HERE.

Mask of choice: I used the heart-burst mask from Essex Girl, download HERE.

Font of choice: I used LoveLight, a pay font.  Jellyka Love and Passion is a fun, free font that would also work well.  Download HERE.

Plug-in used: Eye Candy 4000 Gradient Glow.

~~ Remember to save often! ~~

Place the mask in your PSP masks folder or a folder of your choice.

Open the template in PSP, duplicate and close the original.

Delete raster 17.  Change the canvas size to 800 x 700.  Activate raster 1 (background layer) and flood fill the blank area with white.

Activate raster 5; select all, float and defloat.  Open a paper of choice and resize 20%.  Copy and paste as a new layer, invert the selection and tap delete.  Deselect and delete the original layer.  Apply a drop shadow of choice, I used H&V 0, Opacity 62, Blur 12.

Follow these steps for all remaining template layers except for the various frames to which you simply apply drop shadow.

For raster 16, use the colour replacer tool to change the colour from black to #76121c.  Apply drop shadow, I used H&V 2, Opacity 62, Blur 8.

Copy and paste your tube as a new layer and arrange as shown in my tag; apply drop shadow.

Add your elements, I used:

Bougainvillea 01: resize 10%, then 85%
Bougainvillea 02: resize 10%
Bougainvillea 02: resize 10%, then 85%
Arrange these three layers as desired (see my tag for reference) and merge together when satisfied with placement.  Duplicate and mirror
Butterflies 01: resize 13%
InkPot: resize 5%, then 85%
LoveLetters 01: resize 12%
ScrolledPaper: resize 7%
Envelope 02: resize 10%
Roses01: resize 7%; flip, arrange as desired; duplicate and mirror
Butterfly 01 & 03: resize each 5%; duplicate one and resize 80%

Apply drop shadow above to all elements.

Hide background layer and merge visible.  Unhide background layer and add a new raster layer.  Select all, copy and paste a paper of choice into selection, deselect.  Apply the mask and merge the mask group.

Crop and resize your tag.  Add your name and apply Eye Candy 4000 Gradient glow using these settings:

Under the Colour tab:


Choose the Medium preset and add a second paint pot by clicking where indicated by the arrow.  Colour should be white.

Under the Basic tab:


Click OK.  Apply drop shadow.

Add all applicable copyright and license information.  Save as a png or jpg and you're done!

This tutorial was written assuming you have a general knowledge of PSP.

Supplies Needed

Scrap kit of choice: "S&M" is a wonderful kit created by Tammy of Tammy's Scraps.  Lots of awesome elements and a bold, beautiful colour palette, I love it!  You can get it at Lollipops and Gumdrops.

Tube of choice: I used the sexy pinup art of Elizabeth Austin.  Her tubes are available for purchase at Up Your Art.  You must have a license to use her art.

Template of choice: I used "Bad Company" by Dee, available on her blog HERE.

Mask of choice: I used Mask #19 from Moonbeams & Spiderwebs, HERE.

Plug-in used: Eye Candy 4000 Gradient Glow.

Font of choice: I used Mackintosh SF, HERE.

~~ Remember to save often! ~~

Place the mask in your PSP masks folder or a folder of your choice.

Open the template in PSP, duplicate and close the original.

Delete the following layers: Info, small white circles, pink circles, top grunge and bottom grunge.

Change the canvas size to 750 x 750.  Activate the bg layer and flood fill with white.

Activate the left purple rectangle layer; select all, float and defloat.  Open a paper of choice, resize 70%, copy and paste as a new layer.  Invert the selection and tap delete.  Deselect and delete the original layer.

Follow these instructions for *all remaining layers except word art bg, word art and pink strips.

*After adding paper layer to bottom right white circle, copy and paste your tube as a new layer before deselecting.  Arrange within the selection and tap delete.  Change the blend mode to Soft Light.  Repeat for the top left white circle.

*After adding the paper layer to the purple shape, do not deselect.  Paste your tube as a new layer once again and resize 85%.  Arrange within the selection and use your eraser to remove the parts of the tube outside the selection on the bottom.  Use my tag as reference.  Deselect.

Apply drop shadow of choice to all template elements.  I used H&V 0, Opacity 60, Blur 12.

Change foreground to #cf2975 and background to black.  Change foreground to gradient with these settings:

Style: Linear
Angle: 45
Repeats: 7
Invert: checked

Activate the pink strips layer.  Select all, float and defloat.  Add a new raster layer and flood fill with this gradient.  Deselect and delete the original layer.  Apply drop shadow, I used: H&V 2, Opacity 60, Blur 8.

Add your elements, I used:

7: resize 50%, then 80%
16: resize 30%; free rotate 25 degrees right and sharpen
19: resize 70%; duplicate 3 times and arrange above the background layer
22: resize 50%; duplicate three times
24: resize 70%
33: resize 50%
34: resize 65%
57: resize 30%, then 85%
68: resize 30%
70: resize 50%
80: resize 5%, then 85%
82: resize 50%, then 85%
83: resize 45%, then 85%

Apply drop shadow above to all elements.

Hide the background layer and merge visible.  Resize the merged layer 85%.

Unhide the background layer and add a new raster layer.  Select all, copy and paste a paper of choice into the selection; deselect.  Apply the mask and merge the mask group.

Crop and resize your tag, add your name and apply Eye Candy Gradient Glow using these settings:

Under the Colour tab: choose the Fat preset
Under the Basic tab:

Glow Width: 3.00
Soft Corners: 0
Overall Opacity: 100
Draw Only Outside Selection: checked

Click OK.  Apply drop shadow above.

Add all applicable copyright and license information.  Save as a png or jpg and you're finished!

Thinking Of You (PTU)

Supplies Needed

Scrap kit of choice: I used a beautiful kit by Bev of Horseplay's Pasture Designs called "Her Diary"  What a gorgeous kit this is, such beautiful elements and I love the colour palette!  You can find it at Lollipops and Gumdrops.  Thanks so much Bev!

Tube of choice: I used the beautiful pinup art of Barbara Jensen.  You can purchase Barb's tubes at her store HERE.  You must have a license to use her art.

Template of choice: I used template #96 by Simone.  Download from her blog HERE.

Mask of choice: I used mask #19 by Weescotslass.

Font of choice: I used Ceremonious Three, HERE.

Place the mask in your PSP masks folder or a folder of your choice.

Open the template in PSP, duplicate and close the original.

Delete the credit layer and layer 3.

Change the canvas size to 750 x 750.  Activate the bg layer and flood fill with white.

Activate circle2, select all, float and defloat.  Open a paper of choice from the kit and resize 70%.  Copy and paste as a new layer, invert the selection and tap delete.  Do not deselect.

Copy and paste your tube as a new layer and resize 150%.  Arrange within the selection and tap delete.  Change the blend mode to Luminance and reduce the opacity to 50%.  Deselect and delete the original layer.

Repeat for circle1, resize the tube 120%.

Continue replacing each template component with papers of your choice.  Apply drop shadows to each paper layer; I used H&V 0, Opacity 58, Blur 10.

Use the colour replacer tool to change the two dotted circle layers to #4f3f2e.  If you need more detailed instructions on how to use this tool, you can follow the steps outlined in my P.S. I Love You tutorial HERE.

Copy and paste your tube as a new layer.  Apply drop shadow of choice.

Add your elements, I used:

6: resize 20%
9: resize 20%
10: resize 20%
14: resize 20%
16: resize 23%
17: resize 25%
23: resize 35%
28: resize 35%, then 90%
34: resize 75%
41: resize 20%, then 90%
52: do not resize
57: resize 15%, then 85%; free rotate left 25 degrees

Apply drop shadow to all elements, I used H&V 2, Opacity 58, Blur 8.

Hide the background layer and merge visible.  Unhide the background layer and add a new raster layer.  Select all, copy and paste a paper of choice into the selection; deselect.  Apply the mask and merge the mask group.  Use the raster deform tool to adjust the mask size and placement to your satisfaction.

Crop and resize your tag, add your name and all applicable copyright and license information.  Save as a png or jpg and you're finished!  I hope you enjoy your new tag.

Reflections Of You (PTU)

This tutorial was written assuming you have a general knowledge of PSP.

Supplies Needed

Scrap kit of choice: I used a gorgeous kit by Diane of Candy's Treats called "Wild About Blue". This kit is stunning, as are all of Diane's kits.  This is one of a series that's she's creating, the others are Wild About Pink and Wild About Purple and all are beautiful!  Thanks so much Diane!

Tube of choice: I used the pinup art of Jennifer Janesko.  Jennifer was with CILM when I purchased this tube, but you can now get her tubes from CDO.  You must have a license to use her art.

Mask of choice: I used Mask #25 by Weescotslass.

Font of choice: I used Respective, HERE.

Place the mask in your PSP masks folder or a folder of your choice.

From the kit, open Frame5; copy and paste as a new layer.

Using the freehand selection tool, draw a selection around the frame, like this:


Open a paper of choice and resize 70%; copy and paste as a new layer.  Invert the selection and tap delete.  Do not deselect.

Copy and paste your tube as a new layer and arrange within the selection.  Tap delete and deselect.  Apply a drop shadow of choice to both the tube and the frame.

Effects > Art Media Effects > Charcoal > Select Light Charcoal from the drop down menu and apply to the tube layer using the default settings.  Change the blend mode to Luminance.

Paste your tube as a new layer (it will still be on the clipboard) and resize 85%.  Mirror the tube and arrange on the right side of the frame.  Apply a drop shadow of choice.

Add your elements, I used:

String: resize 85%
Star1: resize 85%
Star2: resize 70%, then 85%
LeafCluster2: resize 50%; free rotate 90 degrees left
Flowers of your choosing: resize each 18%
BlueLeaves: resize 35%, then 85%
BG1: do not resize; apply a light drop shadow, I used H&V 2, Opacity 15, Blur 10.

Apply a drop shadow of choice to your other elements.

Hide the background layer and merge visible.  Unhide the background and add a new raster layer.

Change the foreground to #aeaeae and the background to #ede8e7.  Change foreground to gradient with these settings:

Style: Linear
Angle: 45
Repeats: 7
Invert: unchecked

Flood fill the new layer with this gradient.  Apply the mask and merge the mask group.

Crop and resize your tag.  Add your name and all applicable copyright and license information.  Save as a png or jpg and you're finished!

Heartbreaker (PTU)

Supplies Needed

Scrap kit of choice: I used "Hot In Pink" by Jen's Sweet Temptations.  You can get this beautiful kit at Lollipops & Gumdrops.  Thanks so much Jen!

Tube of choice: I'm using the sexy pinup art of Ismael Rac.  You can purchase his tubes at his store HERE.

Template of choice: I used a template by Twyzted T's Playroom, download HERE.

Mask of choice: I used mask #10 by Melissa'z Creationz, HERE.

Plug-in used: Eye Candy 4000 Gradient Glow.

Font of choice: I used Ink In The Meat, HERE.

~~ Remember to save often! ~~

Place the mask in your PSP masks folder or a folder of your choice.

Open the template in PSP, duplicate and close the original.

Delete the credit layer.  Change the canvas size to 750 x 750.

Add a new raster layer and move to the bottom; flood fill with white.

Activate Raster 3; select all, float and defloat.

Open a paper of choice and resize 75%, copy and paste as a new layer.  Arrange as desired, invert selection and tap delete.  Deselect.

Activate Raster 2; select all, float and defloat.  Open a paper of choice, resize 70%.  Copy and paste as a new layer, arrange as desired.  Invert selection and tap delete, do not deselect.

Open your tube, resize 90%.  Copy and paste as a new layer and arrange within the selection.  Using your eraser, remove the excess at the bottom and sides.  Deselect.

Follow these steps for all remaining layers except Raster 5 and 6.  Resize all papers 50 - 75%.

Add a gradient glow to all three heart layers using Eye Candy 4000 with these settings:

Under the Colour tab: choose Fat preset, change the colour of both paint pots to #fce4f1

Under the Basic tab:

Glow Width: 4.00
Soft Corners: 0
Overall Opacity: 100
Draw Only Outside Selection: checked

Click OK.

Apply a drop shadow of choice to the template elements, I used H&V 0, Opacity 65, Blur 10.

Use the Colour Replacer tool to change the colour of Raster 5 from white to #fce4f1.  Apply drop shadow of choice, I used H&V 2, Opacity 65, Blur 8.

Change foreground to f43c8e and background to black.  Change foreground to gradient with these settings:

Style: Linear
Angle: 45
Repeats: 5
Invert: checked

Activate Raster 6, select all, float and defloat.  Add a new raster layer and flood fill the selection with the gradient.  Deselect and delete the original layer.  Apply the gradient glow above.  Apply drop shadow above.  Move to the bottom, as seen in my tag.

Add your elements; I used:

Candle: resize 50%
Heart2: resize 70%
Glass: resize 40%, then 85%
Goblet: resize 40%
Wine: resize 55%

Apply drop shadow to all elements using the settings above or to your preference.


Hide the background layer and merge visible.  Resize the merged layer 95%.  Unhide background layer and add a new raster layer.  Select all, copy and paste a paper of choice into selection.  Deselect and apply the mask, merge the mask group.

Crop and resize your tag.  Add your name and all applicable copyright and license information.  Save as a jpg or png and you're finished!
