Haunted (FTU)

(Click tag to see full-size image)

This tutorial was written by me on October 31st, 2012 and is the result of my own ideas.  Any resemblance to any other tutorial is purely coincidental and unintentional.

PSP version used: X2, but should work in other versions.

This tutorial was written assuming you have a general knowledge of PSP.

Supplies Needed

Scrap kit: I used an awesome kit by Bev of Horseplay's Pasture Designs called Eeeek!  This kit was formerly PTU but is now FTU.  Download from her blog via the link above.  Thank you so much Bev!

Tube: I used the sexy pinup art of Barbara Jensen.  This tube is called "Crimson Ride" and is a bonus for purchasing $10 or more.  You can purchase Barb's tubes from her store HERE.  You must have a license to use her art.

Template: I used a collab template from Dee'sSign Depot, which you can download from her Dangerously Delicious Designz blog HERE.  Look for the zipped templates links on the top left side of the blog and click on the one that says "Old Halloween - Mix".  The template I used is #15.

Mask: I used mask #1 from Dees'Sign Depot, download HERE (scroll down).

Plug-in used: Eye Candy 4000; Gradient Glow.

Font: I used Vampiress, HERE.

Drop shadows used:

For template elements and tube: H&V 0, Opacity 72, Blur 12
Everything else: H&V 2, Opacity 72, Blur 8

~~ Remember to save often! ~~

Place the mask in your PSP masks folder or a folder of your choice.

Open the template in PSP, duplicate and close the original.

Change the canvas size to 800 x 700.  Delete Raster 2 and pixel words layers.  Activate the background layer and flood fill the blank area with white.

Activate the black rectangle layer.  Select all, float and defloat.  From the kit, open a paper of choice and resize 70%.  Copy and paste as a new layer.  Invert the selection and tap delete. Deselect and delete the original layer.

Repeat these steps for the following layers: purple circle, orange circles and black cut-out circle.

Change foreground to #9a3904 and background to black.  Change foreground to gradient with these settings:

Style: Linear
Angle: 45
Repeats: 5
Invert: checked

Activate Raster 1 layer.  Select all, float and defloat.  Add a new raster layer and flood fill with the gradient.  Deselect and delete original layer.

Repeat these steps for the splat layer.

Active the webs layer.  Select all, float and defloat.  Add a new raster layer and flood fill with the foreground colour.  Deselect and delete original layer.  Repeat for dotted lines layer.

Activate the glitter stars layer.  Select all, float and defloat.  Add a new raster layer and flood fill with the foreground colour.  Adjust > Add/Remove Noise > Add Noise > Gaussian > 50% > Monochrome checked

Resize tube 85%, copy and paste as a new layer and arrange as shown.

Add your elements, I used:

el21: resize 40%
el40: resize 55%
el50: resize 70%
el53: resize 80%, duplicate and mirror
el69: resize 55%
el71: resize 50%, arrange on left side; duplicate and mirror.  Merge down, duplicate and flip.  Arrange as desired

Apply drop shadows.  Hide the background layer and merge visible.  Resize the merged layer 85%.  Unhide the background layer and add a new raster layer.  Select all.  Copy and paste a paper of choice into the selection.  Deselect.  Apply the mask and merge the mask group.

Crop and resize your tag.  Add your name and apply Eye Candy 4000, Gradient Glow with these settings:

Under the Colour tab: Select Medium

Under the Basic tab:
Glow Width: 3.00
Soft Corners: 0
Overall Opacity: 100
Draw Only Outside Selection: checked

Click OK.

Add all copyright and license info and save your tag as a png or jpg.  Enjoy!

I'd love to see your results, email me HERE.

Hugs, Carol
