Lost In The Woods

This tutorial was written by me on August 17th, 2012 and is the result of my own ideas.  Any resemblance to any other tutorial is purely coincidental and unintentional.

PSP version used: X2, but should work in other versions.

This tutorial was written assuming you have a general knowledge of PSP.

Supplies Needed

Scrap kit: I used an awesome FTU kit called "Autumn Feel" by Scraps Dimensions.  Please remember to leave a thank you when downloading!  Thank you so much for this lovely kit Doris!

Tube: I used a fabulous new tube by Mitzi Sato Wiuff called "Lost In The Woods".  This is such a beautiful, whimsical tube, I LOVE it!  Mitzi's tubes are available at PSP Tube Stop.

Mask: I used mask #187 by Gem's Taggin' Scraps.

Font: I used JoliScript, HERE.

Drop shadow used for all elements except #35: H&V 2, Opacity 50, Blur 10
For element 35: H&V 2, Opacity 32, Blur 10

~~ Remember to save often! ~~

Place the mask in your PSP masks folder or  folder of your choice.

Open a new image, 800 x 750, white background.

From the kit, open element 31 and resize 70%.  Copy and paste as a new layer.

Activate the freehand selection tool and change settings to:

Selection type: Point to point
Mode: Add (Shift)
Feather: 0
Smoothing: 0
Anti-alias and Use all layers unchecked

Draw a selection around the frame, like this:

Open a paper of choice and resize 70%.  Copy and paste as a new layer and move below the frame.  Invert the selection and tap delete.  Do not deselect.

Open element 11 and resize 50%.  Copy and paste as a new layer above the paper, arrange on the left side of the frame.  Duplicate and resize 70%, mirror and arrange on the right.  Duplicate again and resize 60%.  Arrange these layers as seen in my tag or as desired.  Drop shadow and tap delete after each addition to remove the excess.

Open element 16 and resize 50%.  Copy and paste as a new layer in front of the trees.  Tap delete

Open element 36 and resize 35%.  Copy and paste as a new layer and arrange in front of the fence, duplicate and arrange the copy.  Tap delete after each addition.  Deselect.

Copy and paste your tube as a new layer and arrange on the right side of the frame.  Drop shadow.

Add your other elements, I used:

6: resize 30%
8: resize 50%
10: resize 40%; free rotate 25 degrees right.  Paste again, free rotate 15 degrees left.  Duplicate these layers as desired.
26 & 27: resize each 15%, then 85%
32: resize 15%
33: resize 10%
34: resize 70%
35: do not resize; duplicate and mirror, apply drop shadow noted above
36: resize 70%

Apply drop shadows.  Hide the background layer and merge visible.  Unhide the background layer and add a new raster layer.  Select all.  Copy and paste a paper of choice into the selection; deselect.  Apply the mask and merge the mask group.

Crop and resize your tag.

Add your name and all applicable copyright and license information.  Save as a png or jpg and you're finished.  Enjoy your new tag!

I'd love to see your results and show them off in my slide show!  Email me HERE.

Hugs, Carol
