Tangled

This tutorial was written by me on May 25th, 2012 and is the result of my own ideas.  Any resemblance to any other tutorial is purely coincidental and unintentional.

PSP version used: X2, but should work in other versions.

This tutorial was written assuming you have a general knowledge of PSP.

Supplies Needed

Scrap kit of choice: I used a beautiful FTU kit by Cindy of Puddicat Creations called "Taste The Rainbow".  You can download from her blog HERE.  Please be sure to thank Cindy for her generosity before you leave, it's a small gesture for hard work freely shared.  : )

Tube of choice: I used a the wonderful art of DL Norton with a valid license.  His tubes are available at Up Your Art.  Please don't use without a license.

Template of choice: I used template #141 from Blissfully Beth.  Scroll down and you'll find the links to download the template packs on the left side.

Mask of choice: I used mask #22 from Moonbeams & Spiderwebs.

Plug-in used: Eye Candy 4000; Gradient Glow (used on name only).

Font used: Silver Twig Swashy, a pay font.

Drop shadows used:

For template layers: H&V 0, Opacity 55, Blur 12
Everything else: H&V 2, Opacity 48, Blur 8

~~ Remember to save often! ~~

Save the mask in your PSP masks folder or a folder of your choice.

Open the template in PSP, duplicate and close the original.  Delete the top three layers.  Change the canvas size to 750 x 750.  Add a new raster layer and send to the bottom, flood fill with white.

Activate the black oval frame layer; select all, float and defloat.  Open a paper of choice from the kit and resize 80%.  Copy and paste as a new layer.  Invert selection and tap delete.  Deselect and delete the original layer.

Repeat these steps for the other template layers.  After adding the paper layer to the large rectangle (white rect layer), do not deselect.  Copy and paste the layer that contains just the dogs (it comes with the tube) and arrange within the selection to your satisfaction.  I placed the dog on his hind legs first, tapped delete, then pasted again, arranging the other dog next to it.  When satisfied with the placement, tap delete and deselect.  Merge these two layers together and change the blend mode to Luminance (Legacy).  Duplicate and mirror.

Copy and paste the main tube as a new layer.

Add your elements; I used:

bling2: resize 70%, duplicate and mirror
sun1: resize 50%
flowers 2: resize 20%, duplicate 3 times
butterfly2: resize 20%, then 85%
butterfly3: resize 20%

Hide the background layer and merge visible.  Unhide the background layer and add a new raster layer.  Select all.  Copy and paste a paper of choice into the selection; deselect.  Apply the mask and merge the mask group.  Resize the mask layer 95%.

Crop and resize your tag.

Add your name and apply gradient glow if desired.  Here's the settings I used:

Under the Colour tab: Select Medium from the menu and change the colour to #fdf85c

Under the Basic tab:

Glow Width: 3.00
Soft Corners: 0
Overall Opacity: 100
Draw Only Outside Selection: checked

Click OK.

Add all applicable copyright and license information.  Save as a png or jpg and you're finished!

I'd love to see your result, email me HERE.

Hugs, Carol
