Memories of Yesterday

This tutorial was written by me on January 3rd, 2012 and is the result of my own ideas.  Any resemblance to any other tutorial is purely coincidental and unintentional.

PSP version used: X2, but should work in other versions.

This tutorial was written assuming you have a general knowledge of PSP.

Supplies Needed

Scrap kit of choice: I used a gorgeous kit by S.G. Rowe Designs called "Memories of Yesterdays".  What a beautiful kit this is, I just love the colour palette!  You can get it at Aussie Scrap Designs.  Thanks so much Sandra!

Tube & close-up of choice: I used the beautiful pinup art of Jennifer Janesko.  Jennifer was with CILM when I purchased these tubes but is now selling at CDO.  You must have a license to use her art.

Mask of choice: I used Big Mask 1 by Vix, available HERE.

Plug-in used: Eye Candy 4000, Gradient Glow.

Font of choice: I used Fragrance, a pay font.  Any lovely FTU script font will work nicely.  Try Chopin Script, available HERE.

~~ Remember to save often! ~~

Place the mask in your PSP masks folder or a folder or your choice.

Open a new image, 750 x 750, white background.

From the kit, open frame01, copy and paste as a new layer.

Using the magic wand, click inside the frame and expand the selection by 5.  Open a paper of choice, resize 50%; copy and paste as a new layer and move below the frame.  Position as desired, invert selection and tap delete.  Do not deselect.

Open your close-up tube and resize if desired (I didn't resize mine).  Copy and paste as a new layer and arrange within the frame.  Tap delete and deselect.  Apply a drop shadow of choice to the tube and the frame.

Copy and paste your main tube as a new layer and arrange at the bottom of the frame.  Soften the hard edges using your freehand selection tool with feather set to 20.  Here's what I did:

After tapping delete 3 times:

Repeat this procedure on the right side of the tube.  Apply a light drop shadow of choice.

Add your elements, I used:

vine: resize 70%
flower01 & 02: resize each 15% and arrange on the vine
flower04: resize 45%, then 85%; duplicate and mirror, resize the copy 85%
flower03: resize 50%
butterfly01: resize 23%; free rotate 20 degrees left and sharpen.  Duplicate as many times as desired.

Apply a drop shadow of choice to all elements.

Hide the background layer and merge visible.  Unhide background layer and add a new raster layer.  Select all, copy and paste a paper of choice into the selection, deselect.  Apply the mask and merge the mask group.  Use the raster deform tool to adjust size to your satisfaction.

Crop and resize your tag.

Add your name using a darker colour, I used #8b2744.  Apply Eye Candy 4000 Gradient Glow using these settings:

Under the Colour tab: Select Medium and change the colour to #f0e37d
Under the Basic tab:

Glow Width: 3.00
Soft Corners: 0
Overall Opacity: 100
Draw Only Outside Selection: checked

Click OK.

Add all copyright and license information and save as a png or jpg.  Enjoy your new tag!

Hugs, Carol
