Heartbreaker

This tutorial was written by me on January 8th, 2012 and is the result of my own ideas.  Any resemblance to any other tutorial is purely coincidental and unintentional.

PSP version used: X2, but should work in other versions.

This tutorial was written assuming you have a general knowledge of PSP.

Supplies Needed

Scrap kit of choice: I used "Hot In Pink" by Jen's Sweet Temptations.  You can get this beautiful kit at Lollipops & Gumdrops.  Thanks so much Jen!

Tube of choice: I'm using the sexy pinup art of Ismael Rac.  You can purchase his tubes at his store HERE.

Template of choice: I used a template by Twyzted T's Playroom, download HERE.

Mask of choice: I used mask #10 by Melissa'z Creationz, HERE.

Plug-in used: Eye Candy 4000 Gradient Glow.

Font of choice: I used Ink In The Meat, HERE.

~~ Remember to save often! ~~

Place the mask in your PSP masks folder or a folder of your choice.

Open the template in PSP, duplicate and close the original.

Delete the credit layer.  Change the canvas size to 750 x 750.

Add a new raster layer and move to the bottom; flood fill with white.

Activate Raster 3; select all, float and defloat.

Open a paper of choice and resize 75%, copy and paste as a new layer.  Arrange as desired, invert selection and tap delete.  Deselect.

Activate Raster 2; select all, float and defloat.  Open a paper of choice, resize 70%.  Copy and paste as a new layer, arrange as desired.  Invert selection and tap delete, do not deselect.

Open your tube, resize 90%.  Copy and paste as a new layer and arrange within the selection.  Using your eraser, remove the excess at the bottom and sides.  Deselect.

Follow these steps for all remaining layers except Raster 5 and 6.  Resize all papers 50 - 75%.

Add a gradient glow to all three heart layers using Eye Candy 4000 with these settings:

Under the Colour tab: choose Fat preset, change the colour of both paint pots to #fce4f1

Under the Basic tab:

Glow Width: 4.00
Soft Corners: 0
Overall Opacity: 100
Draw Only Outside Selection: checked

Click OK.

Apply a drop shadow of choice to the template elements, I used H&V 0, Opacity 65, Blur 10.

Use the Colour Replacer tool to change the colour of Raster 5 from white to #fce4f1.  Apply drop shadow of choice, I used H&V 2, Opacity 65, Blur 8.

Change foreground to f43c8e and background to black.  Change foreground to gradient with these settings:

Style: Linear
Angle: 45
Repeats: 5
Invert: checked

Activate Raster 6, select all, float and defloat.  Add a new raster layer and flood fill the selection with the gradient.  Deselect and delete the original layer.  Apply the gradient glow above.  Apply drop shadow above.  Move to the bottom, as seen in my tag.

Add your elements; I used:

Candle: resize 50%
Heart2: resize 70%
Glass: resize 40%, then 85%
Goblet: resize 40%
Wine: resize 55%

Apply drop shadow to all elements using the settings above or to your preference.

Hide the background layer and merge visible.  Resize the merged layer 95%.  Unhide background layer and add a new raster layer.  Select all, copy and paste a paper of choice into selection.  Deselect and apply the mask, merge the mask group.

Crop and resize your tag.  Add your name and all applicable copyright and license information.  Save as a jpg or png and you're finished!

I'd love to see your results, email me HERE.

Hugs, Carol
