The Devil Shivers
This tutorial was written by me on January 7th, 2012 and is the product of my own ideas. Any resemblance to any other tutorial is purely coincidental and unintentional.
PSP version used: X2, but should work in other versions.
This tutorial was written assuming you have a general knowledge of PSP.
Scrap kit of choice: I used a gorgeous FTU kit (formerly PTU) by Diane of Candy's Treats called Kirisue. Love the colour palette and wonderful elements, thanks so much Diane! You can download from her blog HERE, don't forget to leave a thank you!
Tube of choice: I'm using the fabulous art of Angie Monasterio. You can purchase Angie's tubes from Up Your Art. You must have a license to use her art.
Template of choice: I used template #37 by Kandi Kissez.
Mask of choice: I used Mask #14 by Melissaz Creationz.
Plug-in used: Eye Candy 4000, Gradient Glow.
Font of choice: I used Ampir Deco, HERE.
~~ Remember to save often! ~~
Put the mask in your PSP masks folder or a folder of your choice.
Open the template in PSP, duplicate and close the original.
Delete the credits layer and change the canvas size to 750 x 750.
Unhide the background layer and flood fill the blank area with white.
Activate the black circles layer; select all, float and defloat.
Open a paper of choice from the kit and resize 80%. Copy and paste as a new layer, invert selection and tap delete; deselect. Delete the original layer and apply a drop shadow of choice, I used H&V 0, Opacity 72, Blur 10.
Repeat these steps for red circle, center rectangle, black rectangles, red squares and red stripes layers.
Before deselecting on the red squares paper layer, copy and paste your tube as a new layer and arrange a part of the tube within the selection. Tap delete and deselect. Change the blend mode to Luminance (Legacy).
Copy and paste your tube as a new layer, resize as desired (I resized 85%) and apply a drop shadow of choice or use the one above. Arrange on the left side of the template.
Change foreground to #8a797c and background to white. Using the color replacer tool, change the colour of the following layers: rectangle frames, small white frames and white stripes. Adjust > Add/Remove Noise > Add Noise > Gaussian, 50%, Monochrome checked. Apply a drop shadow of choice to each of these layers; I used H&V 2, Opacity 72, Blur 8.
Add your elements, I used:
button17: resize 30%, duplicate and mirror
wirebeads: do not resize
FragileFlower: resize 30%, duplicate as many times as desired
Flowerposy: resize 40%; duplicate and mirror
Apply a drop shadow of choice to all elements, I used the drop shadow above.
Hide the background layer and merge visible. Unhide the background layer and add a new raster layer. Select all, copy and paste a paper of choice into the selection, deselect. Apply the mask and merge the mask group. Resize the mask layer 90% and use the raster deform tool to adjust as desired. Use the eraser tool to remove the hard edges, change the settings to this:
Add your name using the Ampir Deco font: Size 72, Stroke 0 and colour Black. Apply Eye Candy 4000 Gradient Glow with these settings:
Under the Colour tab: choose Fat preset
Under the Basic tab:
Glow Width: 3.00
Soft Corners: 0
Overall Opacity: 100
Draw Only Outside Selection: checked
Click OK. Apply the drop shadow above.
Crop and resize your tag, save as a png or jpg. You're finished!
I'd love to see your results, email me HERE.
Hugs, Carol ♥
