I'll Be Home For Christmas
This tutorial was written by me on December 18th, 2011 and is the result of my own ideas. Any resemblance to any other tutorial is purely coincidental and unintentional.
PSP Version used: X2, but should work with other versions.
This tutorial was written assuming you have a general knowledge of PSP.
Scrap kit of choice: I used a wonderful Christmas kit by Tootypup Scraps called "Christmas Sleigh Ride". You can get it at Aussie Scrap Designs, thanks so much Susan!
Tube & close-up of choice: I used an adorable tube by Angela Newman with a valid license. You can purchase her art from PTE.
Plug-ins used: Xero Porcelain and Emphasis; Eye Candy 4000 Gradient Glow.
Word art is from Pack #2, available HERE.
Mask of choice: I used Gem's mask #212, download HERE.
Font of choice: I used Satisfaction, a pay font.
~~ Remember to save often! ~~
Place the mask in your PSP masks folder or a folder of your choice.
Open a new image, 800 x 750, white background.
From the kit, open Frame_02 and resize 55%. Copy and paste as a new layer.
Using the magic wand, click inside the frame and expand the selection by 8.
Open a paper of choice, resize 60%, copy and paste as a new layer. Move below the frame, invert selection and tap delete. Do not deselect.
Open your close-up tube and resize 85%. Copy and paste as a new layer and arrange within the frame. Tap delete and deselect. Apply a drop shadow of choice.
Effects > Xero > Porcelain > apply using these settings:
Red Channel: 255
Green Channel: 125
Blue Channel: 225
Effects > Xero > Emphasis > apply using these settings:
Top colour: #76211d
Middle colour: #d1c1b5
Bottom colour: #8892a0
Open your main tube and resize 85%. Copy and paste as a new layer and position on the right side of the frame.
Add your elements, I used:
Pressies_02: resize 35%
ChristmasTree_02: resize 40%
Candle_01: resize 15%, then 85%
TeaForSanta_03: resize 20%, then 85%
Apply drop shadow of choice to all layers. I used H&V 2, Opacity 65, Blur 8.
Resize the word art 20%, copy and paste as a new layer. Place where desired. Select all, float and defloat. Add a new raster layer and flood fill with # 304a23. Deselect and delete original word art layer.
Effects > Eye Candy 4000 > Gradient Glow. Apply using these settings:
Under the Colour tab, choose the Medium preset. Add a second paint pot by left clicking at the midway point of the gradient display field as shown below.
Under the Basic tab:
Glow Width: 3.00
Soft Corners: 0
Overall Opacity: 100
Draw Only Outside Selection: checked
Click OK. Apply drop shadow above.
Hide background layer and merge visible. Unhide background layer and add a new raster layer. Select all, copy and paste a paper of choice into the selection. Deselect and apply the mask, merge the mask group.
Crop and resize your tag.
Add your name and apply the same gradient glow effect. Drop shadow.
Add all applicable copyright and license information. Save as a png or jpg and you're all finished. I hope you enjoy your new tag!
I'd love to see your result, email me HERE.
Hugs, Carol ♥
