Silver and Gold

This tutorial was written by me on November 23rd, 2011 and is the result of my own ideas.  Any resemblance to any other tutorial is purely coincidental and unintentional.

PSP version used: X2, but should work in other versions.

This tutorial was written assuming you have a working knowledge of PSP.

Supplies Needed

Scrap kit of choice: I used an elegant kit by Bello Scarto called "Christmas Gold".  You can purchase this gorgeous kit from Inspirations of Scrap Friends.  Thank you so much Jay!

Mask of choice: I used Big Mask #001 by Vix.  Download from her blog HERE.

Plug-in used: Eye Candy 4000, Gradient Glow.

Font of choice: I used Carolyna Curvy, a pay font.  Any curvy script font would work just as nicely though.  Try Freebooter script, available HERE.

~~ Remember to save often! ~~

Place the mask in your PSP masks folder or a folder of your choice.

Open a new image, 750 x 750, white background.

From the kit, open element 21.  Copy and paste as a new layer, do not resize.  Apply a drop shadow of choice, I used H&V 2, Opacity 55, Blur 8.

Using the freehand selection tool, draw a selection around the frame.  Open a paper of choice and resize 60%.  Copy and paste as a new layer, move beneath the frame.  Invert the selection and tap delete.  Deselect.

Open element 4 and resize 50%.  Copy and paste as a new layer, move beneath the frame.  Apply drop shadow of choice.

Open element 40 and resize 80%.  Copy and paste as a new layer, move to the left side of the frame.  Drop shadow.

Add the rest of your elements and apply drop shadow; I used:

1, 2 & 3: resize each 10%, duplicate some and resize 70%; arrange on the tree
8: resize 10%
9: do not resize
10: do not resize
14: resize 35%
17: resize 50%
26: resize 40%, then 80%
27: resize 40%
41: resize 40%
42: resize 70%

Hide the background layer and merge visible.  Unhide the background layer and add a new raster layer.  Select all.  Copy and paste a paper of choice into the selection.  Deselect.  Apply the mask and merge the mask group.

Crop and resize your tag.  Add your name and apply Eye Candy 4000, Gradient Glow using these settings:

Under the Colour tab:
Select the Medium preset

Under the Basic tab:
Glow Width: 5.00
Soft Corners: 25
Overall Opacity: 100
Draw Only Outside Selection checked.

Click OK.

Save as a png or jpg and you're finished, enjoy your new tag!

If you'd like to show me your result, email me HERE and I'll show it off in my slide show.  : )

Hugs, Carol
