This tutorial was written by me on July 16th, 2011 and is the result of my own ideas. Any resemblance to any other tutorial is purely coincidental and unintentional.
PSP version used: X2, but should work in other versions.
This tutorial was written assuming you have a general knowledge of PSP, its tools and functions.
Scrap kit of choice: I used a beautiful kit by Stina of Designs by Stina called "Serenity Garden". What a lovely kit this is!! It has so many lovely elements, it was hard to leave some of them out, lol! This is an exclusive kit, you can only get it at Aussie Scrap Designs. Thanks so much Stina!
Tube of choice: I'm using a softly beautiful tube by Camilla Drakenborg. You must have a license to use this tube. You can purchase it at Up Your Art.
Mask of choice: I used mask #44 by Weescotslass.
Font of choice: I used Aphrodite Stylistic, a pay font.
~~ Remember to save often! ~~
Place the mask in your PSP masks folder or a folder of your choice.
Open a new image, 750 x 800, white background.
From the kit, open Frame05 and resize 70%. Copy and paste as a new layer.
Using the magic wand, click inside the frame and expand the selection by 5. Open a paper of choice and resize 70%. Copy and paste as a new layer and move below the frame. Invert the selection and tap delete. Do not deselect.
Open SparkleRain, resize 80%. Copy and paste as a new layer and arrange as desired. Tap delete and deselect.
Copy and paste the tube as a new layer, resize 87%. Duplicate and move the copy above the frame. Use your eraser tool on the copy to remove the parts of the tube that cover the frame at the bottom. Switch to the original tube and carefully erase the parts that show beneath the frame. Drop shadow the original tube only. I used H&V 0, Opacity 50, Blur 15.
Drop shadow the frame using the same settings as above.
Open the Grass element, do not resize. Copy and paste as a new layer and move below the frame. Arrange so it looks like the frame is propped against the little hill. Apply the same drop shadow as above.
Add your elements; I used:
Bird: resize 15%
Butterfly02: resize 20%
Butterflies: resize 50%, then 85%
Fence01: resize 53%
Floral01: resize 40%
Floral02: resize 40%; duplicate and resize 90%
Floral04: resize 27%
Flower01: resize 20%
Flower02: resize 10%
Flower03: resize 10%
Flower04: resize 10%, then 70%
Frog: resize 15%
Drop shadow all elements, I used H&V 2, Opacity 50, Blur 10.
Hide the background layer and merge visible, resize the merged layer 90%. Unhide the background layer. Open the Tree element and resize 50%, copy and paste as a new layer above the background. Apply drop shadow.
Activate the background layer and add a new raster layer. Copy and paste a paper of choice into the selection. Deselect. Apply the mask and merge the mask group. Use the raster deform tool to adjust the size to your satisfaction.
Crop and resize your tag, add your name and all applicable copyright and license information. Save as a png or jpeg and you're finished! I hope you enjoy your new tag. :-)
I'd love to see your result and show it off in my slide show! Email me. ♥
