You Are My Sunshine
This tutorial was written by me on May 30th, 2011 and is the result of my own ideas. Any resemblance to any other tutorial is purely coincidental and unintentional.
PSP version used: X2, but should work in other versions.
This tutorial assumes you have a good working knowledge of PSP.
Scrap kit of choice: I used a wonderful kit by Jen's Sweet Temptations called "A Spring In My Step". You can get this beautiful kit at Aussie Scrap Designs. Thanks so much Jen!
Tube of choice: I used the colourful artwork of Shawli with a valid license. If you wish to use the same tube, you can purchase it at MPT.
Template of choice: I used one of Daira's wonderful spring templates called "My Sunshine". Download from her blog HERE. Scroll down, and download Spring Set II.
Mask of choice: I used Mask #216 by Weescotslass.
Font of choice: I used CurlyCue, HERE.
~~ Remember to save often! ~~
Place the mask in your PSP masks folder or a folder of your choice.
Open the template, duplicate and close the original. Change the canvas size to 750 x 750 and delete the Watermark and Happy Spring layers.
Activate the Rounded Rectangle layer. Select all, float, defloat. Open a paper of choice from the kit and resize 70%. Copy and paste as a new layer and position, invert the selection and tap delete. Deselect and delete the original layer. Add a drop shadow of choice, I used H&V 0, Opacity 42, Blur 12.
Follow these instructions for the Flower and Circle layers.
Copy and paste your tube as a new layer, arrange as desired. Apply drop shadow of choice.
Use your eyedropper tool to pick a colour for your foreground and background. I used #f9db09 foreground and #92cc2e background. Change the foreground to gradient: Linear, Angle 45, Repeats 3, Invert checked.
Activate the Shapes layer, select all, float and defloat. Add a new raster layer and flood fill with the gradient. Deselect and delete the original layer. Drop shadow.
Activate the Sunshine layer, select all, float and defloat. Add a new raster layer and flood fill with the same gradient, but with invert unchecked. Deselect and delete original layer. Add a light gradient glow to this layer if you wish; apply drop shadow.
Change the foreground colour to #044b05 and the background to black. Activate the You Are My... layer. Using the Color Replacer tool with these settings: Size: 999, Hardness: 100, Step: 10, Density: 100, Thickness: 100, Rotation 0 and Tolerance: 75, click in the center of the canvas to change the colour to dark green. Drop shadow.
Activate the Strip layer. Change the background colour to #404040 and use the Color Replacer tool again. Drop shadow.
Add your elements, I used:
Bunny1: resize 50%
Bear: resize 50%
Bag1: resize 30%
Flower6: resize 70%
Decor1: do not resize
Apply a drop shadow of choice to all elements, I used H&V 2, Opacity 42, Blur 10.
Hide the background layer and merge visible. Unhide the background layer and add a new raster layer. Select all, copy and paste a paper of choice into the selection. Deselect and apply the mask, merge the mask group. Use the raster deform tool to adjust size and placement to your satisfaction.
Crop and resize your tag, add your name and all applicable copyright and license information. Save as a jpeg or png and you're finished. I hope you enjoy your new tag!
