Spring Into Easter
This tutorial was written by me on April 9th, 2011 and is the result of my own ideas. Any resemblance to any other tutorial is purely coincidental and unintentional.
PSP version used: X2, but should work in other versions.
This tutorial was written assuming you have a good working knowledge of PSP.
Scrap kit of choice: I used a gorgeous kit called "Spring Into Easter" by Designed By Stina. Gorgeous elements and beautiful papers, I love this kit! Visit Stina's blog HERE for store links. Thanks so much Stina!
Tube of choice: I'm using the gorgeous art of Barbara Jensen. If you wish to use the same tube, you must purchase a license from Barb's store HERE.
Mask of choice: I used mask #208 by Weescotslass.
Font of choice: I used Caramel Crunch, which is a pay font.
Drop shadow used throughout: H&V 2, Opacity 42, Blur 8
~~ Remember to save often! ~~
Place the mask in your PSP masks folder or a folder of your choice.
Open a new image, 750 x 750, white background.
From the kit, open Frame03 and resize 80%. Copy and paste as a new layer. Using the freehand selection tool, draw a selection around the inside of the frame. Open a paper of choice, resize 80%. Copy and paste as a new layer, move beneath the frame. Invert the selection and tap delete. Deselect.
Open the tube and resize 95%. Copy and paste as a new layer, duplicate and move the duplicate below the frame. Using the eraser, remove the parts of the original tube (above the frame) that cover the frame at the bottom. Drop shadow the lower tube (copy) only.
Add your elements, I used:
Basket02: resize 40%
Birdhouse: resize 85%
Chick_Egg01: resize 25%
Birds 01 & 02: resize each 12%
Flowers01: resize 40%; duplicate and mirror
Butterfly 02, 03 & 04: resize each 10%
Eggs_flowers02: resize 20%, then 90%
Eggs04: resize 20%
HangingEggs: resize 40%, erase the extra at the top
Bunny01: resize 30%, then 90%
SpringScatter02: resize 85%; duplicate and mirror
Add drop shadow to your frame and all elements. Hide the background layer and merge visible. Unhide and activate the background layer, copy and paste a paper of choice as a new layer. Apply the mask and merge the mask group. Use the raster deform tool to adjust size and placement.
Crop and resize your tag, add your name and all applicable copyright and license information. Save as a png or jpeg and you're finished! I hope you enjoy your new tag!
