Blue Doll

This tutorial was written by me on April 17th, 2011 and is the result of my own ideas.  Any resemblance to any other tutorial is purely coincidental and unintentional.

PSP version used: X2, but should work in other versions.

This tutorial assumes you have a good working knowledge of PSP.

Supplies Needed

Scrap kit of choice: I used a beautiful FTU kit called "Blue Dreams" by Scraps by jOeswife.  You can download from her blog HERE.  Remember to leave some love (a thank you) when you do as it's a small gesture for hard work freely shared.

Tube and close-up of choice: I'm using the incredible artwork of Camilla Drakenborg with a valid license.  If you'd like to use the same tube, you can purchase it at Up Your Art.

Mask of choice: I used mask #41 by Weescotslass.

Plug-ins used: Xero Porcelain & Radiance, HERE
Eye Candy Impact, Gradient Glow (optional, used for name only).

Font of choice: I used Wankstaberg Battles, HERE.

Drop shadow used throughout: H&V 2, Opacity 72, Blur 8.

~~ Remember to save often! ~~

Place the mask in your PSP masks folder or a folder of your choice.

Open a new image, 750 x 750, white background.

From the kit, open Frame06, copy and paste as a new layer.  Do not resize, move slightly to the left.  Using the magic wand, click inside the frame then expand the selection by 3.  Open a paper of choice, resize 70%, copy and paste as a new layer and move below the frame.  Invert selection and tap delete.  Do not deselect.

Open the close-up tube, copy and paste as a new layer and arrange within the frame.  Tap delete to remove the excess.  Deselect.

Apply Xero Porcelain using the default settings.  Then apply Xero Radiance using these settings:

Copy and paste your main tube as a new layer and move to the right side of the frame.

Add your elements, I used:

GlitterBits3: do not resize, duplicate and mirror
LeafDoodle2: resize 40%, use the raster deform tool to change the angle so it fits on the frame (see my tag for reference).  Sharpen.  Repeat as desired.
Flower01: resize 10%; duplicate as many times as you wish
GlassFlower2: resize 35%, then 85%; duplicate as many times as you wish
Butterfly3: resize 25%; duplicate twice and resize 85%, mirror one of them

Apply all drop shadows, hide the background layer and merge visible.  Unhide the background layer and add a new raster layer.  Select all.  Copy and paste a paper of choice into the selection.  Deselect.  Apply the mask and merge the mask group.  Use the raster deform tool to change the size and placement as desired.

Crop and resize your tag, add your name and all applicable copyright and license information.  Save as a png or jpeg and you're finished!  Nice and easy!  :-)

I'd love to see your results so I can show them off in my slide show!  Email me.

Hugs, Carol
