This tutorial was written by me on November 14th, 2010 and is the result of my own ideas. Any resemblance to any other tutorial is purely coincidental and unintentional.
PSP Version used: X2, but should work in other versions.
This tutorial assumes you have a good working knowledge of PSP and Animation Shop.
Scrap kit of choice: I'm using a wonderful kit called "Heiress" by Designs by K. I love all the wonderful, fun elements that are included with this kit! So much potential and so much fun to play with!! Thanks so much for this awesome kit!! You can get it at I Got Lucky Skraps.
Tube of choice: I'm using the pinup art of Jamie Kidd with a valid license. You can purchase her tubes from CILM until December 31st.
Template of choice: I used Template 48 by Babe's Designz, HERE.
Mask of choice: I used WSL_Mask219 by Weescotslass, HERE.
Font of choice: I used Mon Amour Script Alt
This tutorial makes a tag with a subtle animation, however you can choose to make the non-animated version, shown below.
Let's make a new tag!
Place the mask in your PSP masks folder or a folder of your choice.
Open the template in PSP, duplicate and close the original. Change the canvas size to 750 x 650. Delete the copyright layer.
Activate layer 1, select all, float, defloat. Open a paper of choice from the kit, resize 10%, copy and paste as a new layer. Arrange as desired, invert the selection and tap delete. Delete layer 1. Repeat these steps for layers 3 and 5.
Activate layer 2, use the color replacer tool to change the color to #c5c5c5. Adjust > Add/Remove Noise > Add Noise > choose Uniform, 42%, monochrome checked. Repeat these steps for layer 6. Do the same for layer 4 and for the dots layer only change the color to black and do not apply the noise effect.
If you don't wish to animate, skip this step and move on to the next. Duplicate layer 4 for a total of 3. Rename these layers Stars 1, Stars 2 and Stars 3. On the Stars 1 layer, apply dsb flux, bright noise at 42 Intensity and with the Lighter radio button selected. Hide Stars 1, unhide and activate Stars 2. Apply bright noise again, only click the radio button twice. Do the same for Stars 3, clicking the radio button three times. Now hide Stars 2 & 3 and leave Stars 1 open.
Copy and paste the tube as a new layer, place in front of the square.
Apply a drop shadow of choice to the tube and template layers.
Add your elements (sharpen after resizing):
cellphone: resize 10%, then 85%
Chihuahua: resize 10%
flowerbling: resize 15%, then 70%
heartstrangbling: resize 20%, then 85%; duplicate and resize 85%, duplicate again and resize a further 85%. Arrange under the flowerbling layer
liptstick1: resize 10%, then 85%
makeup2: resize 10%. Use the magic wand to click inside the top portion of the compact, expand by 5. Add a new raster layer and flood fill with #c5c5c5. Deselect and move this layer below the compact layer. Activate the compact layer and merge down.
mascara-bottle: resize 10%, then 60%
mascara-brush: resize 10%, then 50%
nailpolish1: resize 10%, then 50%
perfume2: resize 10%
purse1: resize 12%
shades: resize 10%, free rotate 32 degrees left
Tower: resize 25%
Add a drop shadow of choice to your elements.
Activate the background layer and add a new raster layer. Select all, copy and paste a paper of choice into the selection. Deselect. Apply the mask and merge the mask group. Use the raster deform tool to adjust the mask to your satisfaction.
Add your name and all applicable copyright and license information. Now's the time to crop and resize your tag. Merge all the layers under your three stars layers and merge all the layers above. You should now have 5 layers.
If you wish to animate, open Animation Shop. If you choose not to, save your tag and you're done!
To animate, insure that the Stars 1 layer is open and Stars 2 & 3 are hidden. Right click on your tag in PSP and choose Copy Merged.
In Animation Shop, right click on the workspace and choose Paste As A New Animation.
Back in PSP, hide Stars 1 and open Stars 2. Right click and copy merged.
In AS, right click on your tag and choose Paste > After Current Frame.
Repeat for Stars 3 layer.
View > Animation to see your tag in action. Save as a gif and you're finished!
Thanks for trying my tutorial!
Here is the non-animated tag.
