Cherry Bomb

This tutorial was written by me on November 23rd, 2010 and is the result of my own ideas.  Any resemblance to any other tutorial is purely coincidental and unintentional.

PSP Version used: X2, but should work in other versions.

This tutorial assumes you have a good working knowledge of PSP, its tools and functions.

Supplies Needed

Scrap kit of choice: I'm using a fabulous kit called Cherry Bomb by Tammy of Tammy's Scraps.  What a lovely kit this is!  I love the drama of black and red and this kit is also filled with a lot of fun elements, so many possibilities!  Visit Tammy's blog HERE for purchase information.  Thanks for this wonderful kit hun!

Tube of choice: I'm using the gorgeous pinup art of Jessica Dougherty with a valid licence.  If you wish to use the same image, you must purchase a license from CILM (until December 31st).

Template of choice: I used template #2 by LGB, download from her blog HERE.

Mask of choice: I used one of Vaybs wonderful masks, #89.  Download HERE.

Font of choice: I used Caraterre, a pay font.

Plug in used: Eye Candy Impact, Gradient Glow (used for name only).

Let's begin!

Place the mask in your PSP masks folder or a folder of your choice.

Open the template, duplicate and close the original.  Change the canvas size to 750 x 750.  Add a new raster layer, send to the bottom and flood fill with white.

Delete the copyright, flower, and flower centers layers.

Activate the Star Burst Back layer, select all, float, defloat.  Open a paper of choice from the scrap kit, resize 80%.  Copy and paste as a new layer, invert the selection and tap delete.  Deselect and add a drop shadow of choice.  Follow these directions for the remaining layers.

Copy and paste your tube as a new layer, resize as desired and move below the frame layer.  Duplicate and move the copy above the frame.  Using the freehand selection tool with feather set to 1, carefully draw a selection around the parts of her leg that overlap the frame.  Tap delete and deselect.  Drop shadow the bottom layer only.

Add your elements:

Boot 3: resize 30%
Butterfly 1 & 2: resize 20%
Flowers 1, 2, & 3: resize each 25%
Lipstick 1: resize 10%, then 85%
Purse 2: resize 30%
Sticker 1: resize 40%

Add a drop shadow of choice to all elements.

Activate the background layer and add a new raster layer.  Copy a paper of choice and paste into selection.  Deselect.  Apply the mask and merge the mask group.  Use the raster deform tool to adjust the size if desired.

Crop and resize your tag, add your name and all applicable copyright and license information.  Save as a png or jpg and you're all finished!  Thanks for trying my tut!

Hugs, Carol
