This tutorial was written by me on October 2nd, 2010 and is the result of my own ideas. Any resemblance to any other tutorial is purely coincidental.
PSP Version used: PSP X2, but should work in other versions.
This tutorial assumes you have a good working knowledge of PSP, its tools and functions.
Scrap kit of choice: I'm using a wonderful FTU kit by Artmama called "The Days Grow Short" that you can download from her blog HERE. Remember to leave a thank you when you snag, it's a small price to pay for time and talent freely shared.
Tube of choice: I'm using the beautiful art of Anna Marine with a valid license. You can purchase her tubes from CILM.
Mask of choice: I used mask #192 by Gems, download from her blog HERE.
Template of choice: I used #49 by Designs by Ali.
Font of choice: I used Aquarelle
Let's make a tag!
Place the mask in your PSP Masks folder or a folder of your choice.
Open the template in PSP, duplicate and close the original. Delete the copyright layer. Change the canvas size to 750 x 650. Add a new raster layer, flood fill white and send to the bottom.
Activate the back circle layer. Select all, float and defloat the selection. Open a paper of choice from the kit, copy and paste as a new layer. Resize as desired, invert the selection and tap delete. Deselect and delete the original back circle layer. Repeat these steps for the remaining layers.
Copy and paste the tube as a new layer, place in center of the tag. Duplicate and move the original below the frames layer. Carefully remove the bits of the tag you don't want showing from both layers. Drop shadow of your choice on the bottom layer only.
Add your elements:
Embellie 17: Resize 85%, place above the white background layer. Duplicate and mirror. Merge down and duplicate again. Free rotate the duplicate 45 degrees left and resize 85%. If desired, make further adjustments using the raster deform tool. Merge down once again. Sharpen.
Embellie 10: Resize 60%
Embellie 12: Resize 30%, duplicate as many times as you wish and place around the tag.
Embellie 16: Free rotate 12 degrees left. Sharpen.
Embellie 19: Place where desired.
Embellie 20: Resize 50%, place over embellie 19.
Embellie 21: Resize 30%, place over the tag (embellie 16); duplicate and flip, make further adjustments with the raster deform tool. Sharpen.
Apply a drop shadow of choice to each layer, I used H&V 2, Opacity 55, Blur 8 for the elements, and H&V 0, Opacity 55, Blur 12.50 for the template layers.
Make sure you're happy with the placement of all layers, then hide your background layer and merge visible.
Unhide the background layer and add a new raster layer. Select all, copy and paste a paper of choice into the selection. Deselect.
Apply the mask and merge the mask group. Add your name and all applicable copyright and license info. Resize as desired and save as a png or jpg. You're finished!
I hope you enjoyed my tutorial and remember to send me your results so I can show them off!
