This tutorial was written by me on October 16th, 2010 and is the result of my own ideas. Any resemblance to any other tutorial is purely coincidental.
PSP Version used: PSP X2, but should work in other versions.
This tutorial assumes you have a good working knowledge of PSP, its tools and functions.
Scrap kit of choice: I'm using a wonderful FTU kit called "Vamp It Up" by Cindy of Puddicat Creations. You can download it from her blog HERE. Please remember to leave a thank you when you grab it, it only takes a second and is a small price to pay for hard work freely shared.
Tube of choice: I'm using the wonderful fantasy art of Maxine Gadd with a valid license. You can purchase her incredible tubes from MPT.
Mask of choice: I'm using another of Gem's wonderful masks, #188. You can download it from her blog HERE.
Plug-in used: Eye Candy Impact; Gradient Glow. If you don't have this plug-in, a similar effect can be achieved using the drop shadow tool.
Font of choice: I used Creepygirl
Let's make a tag!
Place the mask in your PSP masks folder or a folder of your choice.
Open a new image, 650 x 650, white background.
From the kit, open pdc_frame1 and resize 70%. Copy and paste as a new layer.
Using your freehand selection tool, draw around the frame, like this:
Open a paper of choice, resize as desired (I resized 70%), copy and paste as a new layer. Invert the selection and tap delete. Move the paper below the frame. Do not deselect.
Copy and paste your tube as a new layer. Resize as desired (I resized 85%) and arrange within the frame. Tap delete to remove the excess. Deselect.
Add your elements:
pdc_bats1: Resize 30%; duplicate, mirror and resize the copy 80%
pdc_bloodsplat1: Do not resize
pdc_candles1: Resize 30%, then 90%. Apply Eye Candy Impact, Gradient Glow using these settings:
pdc_coffin1: Resize 40%
pdc_moon1: Resize 70%
Drop shadow all elements, I used H&V 2, Opacity 75, Blur 6. For the tube I used H&V 2, Opacity 100, Blur 5.
Hide the background layer and merge visible. Unhide background layer.
Add your name and apply the gradient glow effect using the same settings but changing the colour to black. Drop shadow.
Add all applicable copyright and license information.
Activate the background layer and add a new raster layer. Copy and paste a paper of choice into the selection, deselect. Apply the mask and merge the mask group.
That's it, you're all done! I hope you enjoyed my tutorial and I'd love to see your results!
