Emo Girls (PTU)

(Click the tag to see full-size version)

Emo Girls

This tutorial was written by me on October 23rd, 2010 and is the result of my own ideas.  Any resemblance to any other tutorial is purely coincidental.

PSP Version used: PSP X2, but should work in other versions.

This tutorial assumes you have a good working knowledge of PSP, its tools and functions.

Supplies Needed

Scrap kit of choice: I'm using a wonderful new kit by Clarey called "Emo Girls" which can be purchased from her store HERE.  Thanks so much for letting me use your wonderful kit Clarey!!

Tube of choice: I'm using the artwork of Elias Chatzoudis with a valid license.  You can purchase his tubes from MPT.

Mask of choice: I used one of Gem's wonderful masks, #198, download HERE.

Font of choice: I used Warlock.

Let's make a new tag!

Place the mask in your PSP masks folder or a folder of your choice.

Open a new image, 750 x 750, white background.

From the kit, open stripedframe1, resize 85%, copy and paste as a new layer.  Click inside the frame with the magic wand, expand the selection by 4.  Open a paper of choice from the kit, resize if desired (I resized 80%), copy and paste as a new layer.  Invert the selection and tap delete.  Deselect.

Copy and paste your tube as a new layer and move to the left side of the frame.

Open wordart4, resize 85%, copy and paste as a new layer, move to the bottom of the tag, in front of the tube.

Add your elements:

bottlecap2: Do not resize
butterfly1: Resize 20%, duplicate and resize 85%
butterflysketch1 & 3: Resize 20%, then 70%.  Duplicate, resize 85%.
curledribbon: Resize 50%, then 85%.  Free rotate right 8 degrees.  Duplicate and mirror, arrange under the bottlecap.
plaintag: Resize 60%, arrange between the ribbons and beneath the bottlecap
emogirl2: Resize 30%, place to the left of the tube and behind the wordart (see my tag for placement)
emogirl1: Resize 25%, place to the far left, and in front of the wordart
skull1: Do not resize
starcluster2: Resize 95%, copy and paste above the background layer.  Duplicate; mirror; flip; arrange as desired.

Apply a drop shadow of choice to all layers.

Activate the background layer and add a new raster layer.  Select all, copy and paste a paper of choice into selection.  Deselect and apply the mask, merge mask group.

Crop and resize your tag as desired, hide the background layer and merge visible.

Add your name and all applicable copyright and license information.  Save as a png or jpg and you're finished!

Thanks for trying my tutorial!

Hugs, Carol
