This tutorial was written by me on October 24th, 2010 and is the result of my own ideas. Any resemblance to any other tutorial is purely coincidental and unintentional.
PSP Version used: PSP X2, but should work in other versions.
This tutorial assumes you have a good working knowledge of PSP, its tools and functions.
Scrap kit of choice: I'm using a totally gorgeous kit called "Black and Gold" by Scrapin' Daisy. Oh my goodness, is this a wonderful kit!! Elegant and sophisticated with loads of potential, I loved working with it!! Thanks so much for letting me use it Ruth! You can purchase this beauty at I Got Lucky Skraps.
Tube of choice: I'm using the beautiful pin up art of Ismael Rac with a valid license. You can purchase Ismael's tubes from his store HERE.
Template of choice: I'm using one of Ali's amazing templates, #46. You can download from her blog HERE.
Mask of choice: I used Mask 19 by Weescotslass, download HERE.
Plug-in needed: Xero Emphasis
Font of choice: I used Mon Amour Script Pro.
Let's get started!
Place the mask in your PSP masks folder or a folder of your choice.
Open the template in PSP, duplicate and close the original. Delete the copyright and staples layer.
Change the canvas size to 750 x 750. Add a new raster layer, flood fill white and send to the bottom.
Activate the black circle layer, select all, float and defloat. Choose a paper from the kit, resize as desired (I resized 70%), copy and paste as a new layer. Invert the selection and tap delete. Deselect. Do the same for the rectangle shapes layer. Delete the original layers.
Copy and paste your tube as a new layer, move the the right side of the tag. Apply a drop shadow of choice. Duplicate the tube and mirror. Resize 130% and place over the rectangle shapes on the left side. Activate the rectangle shapes layer and using your magic wand, click somewhere outside the rectangles. Activate the copy of your tube and tap delete.
Apply Xero, Emphasis with these settings:
element 25: Resize 40%, use the raster deform tool to adjust as you like.
element 28: Resize 35%
element 29: Resize 40%
element 42: Resize 40%, use the raster deform tool to adjust.
element 57: Resize 30%, free rotate right or left 10 degrees
Apply a drop shadow of choice to all elements.
When you're happy with how your tag looks, hide the background layer and merge visible. Unhide the background layer and add a new raster layer. Select all. Copy and paste a paper of choice into the selection. Deselect. Apply the mask and merge the mask group. Use the raster deform tool to pull the sides out all around the tag.
Add your name and all applicable copyright and license information. Crop, resize and save. You're done! :-)
