A Quiet Beauty

This tutorial was written by me on August 2nd, 2010 and is the result of my own ideas.  Any resemblance to any other tutorial is purely coincidental.

PSP Version used: PSP X2, but should work in other versions.

This tutorial assumes you have a good working knowledge of PSP, its tools and functions.

Supplies Needed

Scrap kit of choice: I used a gorgeous kit called "Adalina" by Kittie's Sinful Designz.  This is a beautiful kit with many lovely elements and papers.  I only used a handful in this tut, there's so many other possibilities!

Tube of choice: I'm using the beautiful art of Irene Shpak with a valid license.  You can purchase her tubes from MPT.

Mask of choice: I'm using a gorgeous mask by Essex Girl, visit her website to see more of her wonderful creations.  Download the mask HERE.

Font of choice: I'm using Aquarelle

Plug-in used: Eye Candy Gradient Glow (optional, used on name only).

Drop shadow used throughout: H&V 2, Opacity 45, Blur 5

~~~~~ Let's get started! ~~~~~
Place the mask in your PSP masks folder or a folder of your choice.
Open a new image, 750 x 750, white background.  We'll crop and resize later.
From the kit, open Frame 2, resize 85%.  Copy and paste as a new layer.
Using the magic wand, click inside the frame.  Selections > Modify > Expand > expand by 4.
Open a paper of choice, resize if desired, copy and paste as a new layer.  Invert the selection and tap delete.  Do not deselect.
Open your tube, copy and paste as a new layer.  If you're using the same tube I did, mirror the image and resize 150%.  Delete the excess.  Change the blend mode to luminance legacy and reduce the opacity to 50%.  Apply drop shadow to the tube and the frame.
Paste your tube as a new layer once again (it will still be on the clipboard) and move to the right side of the frame.  Drop shadow.
Add your elements:
Branch: resize 60%, place on right side of frame.  Duplicate, mirror and move the duplicate higher on the frame, move this layer below the original.  Drop shadow both.
Metal Beads: resize 60%, place above the branches.  Free rotate right 35 degrees.  Drop shadow, duplicate, mirror and arrange to your liking.
Jeweled Flower: resize 35%, place among the branches, drop shadow.  Duplicate as many times as you like, resizing some 85%.
Peacock Fan: resize 40% and free rotate right 45 degrees.  Sharpen and apply drop shadow.  Place at the bottom of the branches.
Peacock Feather: resize 40%, free rotate left 15 degrees.  Place among the branches, behind the flowers.  Sharpen and drop shadow.  Duplicate 3 times and arrange as desired.
Doodle 1: resize 50% and free rotate right 45 degrees.  Sharpen and drop shadow.  Place on the top right side of the frame and move this layer above the background layer.  Duplicate and mirror, arrange on left side.  Merge these two layers together, duplicate and flip.  Arrange at the bottom of the frame.
Make sure you're happy with the placement of all layers, hide the background layer and merge visible.
Activate the background layer and add a new raster layer.  Selections > Select All.  Copy and paste a paper of choice into the selection and then deselect.
Apply the mask and merge group.  Resize the mask layer 80%.
Crop and resize your tag to your preference.  Add your name and all applicable license and copyright information.  Save as a jpg or png and you're finished!  I hope you enjoy your new tag!
Hugs, Carol
