Orange You Cute?

This tutorial was written by me on August 12th, 2010 and is the product of my own ideas.  Any resemblance to any other tutorial is purely coincidental.

PSP Version used: PSP X2, but should work in other versions.

This tutorial assumes you have a good working knowledge of PSP, its tools and functions.

Supplies Needed

Scrap kit of choice: I used an awesome new kit by Stina of Cullenary Delights called "Orange Blossom".  I LOVE this kit!!  I'm not usually an orange person at all, but this kit is really lovely and unique and the colour palette works really well!  Thanks so much for this gorgeous kit Stina, it's a winner!  You can get it at Aussie Scraps, and it's even on sale right now as Stina is the featured designer!  WooHoo, I love a sale!  :-)

Tube of choice: I used the incredible art of Joel Adams with a valid license.  You can purchase Joel's tubes from CILM.

Mask of choice: I used one of Gem's wonderful masks, #181.  You can download from her blog, HERE.  Be sure to leave a thank you when you do!  :-)

 Font of choice: I used Fairy Scroll Display

Unless otherwise noted, drop shadow used throughout is H&V 2, Opacity 50, Blur 7.

~~~~~ Ready?  Let's get started! ~~~~~
Open a new image, 750 x 750.  I like lots of room to work, we'll crop and resize later.
From the kit, open Stumps01 and resize 65%.  Copy and paste as a new layer and move down a bit.  Drop shadow.
Open Birdhouse01 and resize 80%.  Copy and paste as a new layer and position in front of the stumps.  Drop shadow.
Open FloralBorder and resize 85%.  Copy and paste as a new layer, move to the bottom of the stumps and birdhouse.  Erase the extra bits to the right and left.  Drop shadow.
Use some of the flower elements to decorate around the stumps and birdhouse.  Resize each flower bunch 30% and arrange as desired.  Resize the single flowers 10%, then 85% and scatter among the leaves.  Open Mushrooms, resize 16%, copy and paste as a new layer and place where you like.  Drop shadow each layer as you go.
Copy and paste your tube as a new layer, resize as desired.  Move to the left side of the tag and drop shadow.
Open FloralScatter02, copy and paste as a new layer.  Drop shadow using these settings: H&V 2, Opacity 35, Blur 8.
Highlight the background layer.  Open FloralScatter01, resize 80%.  Copy and paste as a new layer, drop shadow.
Open 3 of the butterflies, resize each 20%.  Copy and paste as new layers and arrange as desired.  Drop shadow.
Make sure you're happy with the placement of all elements, then hide the background layer and merge visible.
Unhide background layer and add a new raster layer.  Select all, copy and paste a paper of choice into the selection.  Deselect.
Apply the mask and merge the mask group.  Use the raster deform tool to resize the mask until you like what you see.  Crop and resize the tag to your preference.
Add your name and all applicable copyright and license information.  Save as a png or a jpg and you're finished!  Thanks for trying my tutorial, I hope you enjoy your new tag!
Hugs, Carol
Here's another version of the tag, this time instead of using a mask, I used one of the gorgeous papers as a background and simply resized it using the raster deform tool.  It makes a wonderful frame!
