Autumn Celebration

This tutorial was written by me on August 15th, 2010 and is the result of my own ideas.  Any resemblance to any other tutorial is purely coincidental.

PSP Version used: PSP X2, but should work in other versions.

This tutorial assumes you have a good working knowledge of PSP, its tools and functions.

Supplies Needed

Scrap kit of choice: I used a breathtaking kit by Stargazer Musings called "Fall Feelings".  I love the rich colours of fall and this kit is loaded with beautiful papers and incredible elements.  I had so much fun creating this tag!  Thank you for such a gorgeous kit!  You can get it from Aussie Scraps.

Tube of choice: I used the wonderful art of Rion Vernon, aka Pinup Toons.  You can purchase his tubes from CILM.

Mask of choice: I used one of the awesome masks by Weescotslass, available on her blog HERE.  I used mask 98.

Font of choice: I used Leaf1.

Plug-in used: Eye Candy Impact Gradient Glow (optional, used on name only).

Drop shadow used throughout: H&V 2, Opacity 50, Blur 5.

~~~~~ Let's get started! ~~~~~
Place the mask in your PSP masks folder or a folder of your choice.
Open a new image, 750 x 750, white background.
From the kit, open Frame 2.  Resize 60%, copy and paste as a new layer.  Free rotate right 90 degrees.  Move slightly to the left.
Using the magic wand, click inside the frame and expand the selection by 5.  Open a paper of choice, resize 70%, copy and paste as a new layer.  Invert the selection and tap delete.  Move below the frame layer, do not deselect!
Open the two trees.  Resize each 50%, copy and paste as new layers and arrange within the frame.  Tap delete, drop shadow.
Open pile of leaves 1 & 2, resize each 50%, copy and paste as new layers.  Arrange within the frame, tap delete to remove the excess.  Drop shadow and deselect.  Hide the background layer and merge all the frame layers (paper, two trees, two leaf piles) together.
Decorate the left side of the frame, applying drop shadow to each layer.  I used these elements:
Fern 2: Resize 60%, place on bottom left of the frame.  Duplicate and mirror, move duplicate up.
Glitter Leaves 2: Resize 55% and flip.  Duplicate and mirror.  Move copy layer below original.
Berry 2: Resize 40%, place on the bottom leaves.  Erase the bottom part of the stem.  Duplicate and mirror, arrange duplicate on the top leaves.
Flower 10: Resize 20%, place on the bottom, among the berries (see my tag for placement).  Duplicate twice, resize each duplicate 85%, and arrange as shown.
Bow 2: Resize 40%, free rotate left 20 degrees.
Apple 2: Resize 40%, place at the bottom left of the frame.
Apple 1: Resize 35%
Acorn 3: Resize 35%, use raster deform tool to tip it to the right.
Acorn 2: Resize 30%.
Game Bird 5: Resize 50%, mirror.
Fall Wreath 1: Resize 80%, move below the frame layer.  Use the raster deform tool to size to your preference.
Add your tube as a new layer and move to the right side of the frame.  Drop shadow.
Highlight background layer and add a new raster layer.  Select all, choose a paper from the kit, copy and paste into selection.  Apply the mask and merge the mask group.  Use raster deform tool to push the right side in a bit and pull out the top and bottom.
Crop and resize, add your name and all applicable copyright and license information and you're finished!  Thank you for trying my tutorial and please show me your results!
Hugs, Carol
