Gorjuss Sweet Spring (PTU)

(Click on tag to see full-size image)

Gorjuss Sweet Spring

This tutorial was written by me on July 8th, 2010 and is the result of my own ideas.  Any resemblance to any other tutorial is purely coincidental.

PSP Version used: PSP X2, but should work in other versions.

This tutorial assumes you have a good working knowledge of PSP, its tools and functions.

Supplies Needed

Scrap kit of choice: I used a gorgeous kit by Tammy's Scraps called Sweet Spring.  This kit is very large and contains lots of lovely pastel elements, papers, word art, and so forth.  You can get the kit at Lollipops & Gumdrops.  Thanks for letting me use your wonderful kit Tammy!

Template of choice: I used template #42 from Babe's Designz.

Tube of choice: I used the adorable art of Suzanne Woolcott with a valid license.  You can purchase her tubes at Gorjuss Art.

Mask of choice: I used Mask 362 from Weescotslass Creations.

Plug-in needed: Mura's Meister Copies

Font of choice: I used Fairy Scroll Display

Drop shadow used throughout: H&V 2, Opacity 55, Blur 6

~~~~~ Ready?  Let's make a new tag! ~~~~~
Place the mask in your PSP masks folder or a folder of your choice.
Open the template in PSP, duplicate and close the original.  Delete the copyright layer.
Activate the triple bars layer.  Control > A > Control > F > Control > Shift > F to float then defloat the layer.  Open a paper of choice from the kit.  Resize 70%, copy and paste as a new layer.  Control > Shift > I to invert the selection.  Tap delete.  Delete the original triple bars layer.  Drop shadow the paper layer.  Repeat these steps for the doodle and circle layer.
After pasting the paper for the circle layer, do not deselect.  Copy and paste your tube as a new layer and place as desired.  Use the eraser tool to remove the parts of the tube that overhang the circle at the bottom.  Deselect.
For the dot heart layer, flood fill with #9d667f instead of using a paper.  For the dot circle layer, use the change to target brush and change the colour to #bfcc7e.
Open Flower 5, resize 50%.  Copy and paste as a new layer.  Effects > Mura's Meister Copies.  Choose Encircle from the drop down menu and apply using these settings:
Move this layer below the circle layer.
Now add your elements:
Lily 2: Resize 40%, copy and paste as a new layer.  Mirror and place on the left side of the circle.
LollyPop 2: Resize 20%, then 85%.  Copy and paste as a new layer, place in front of lillies.
LollyPop 3: Resize 15%, copy and paste as a new layer.  Free rotate 15 degrees left and place in front of the other lolly.  See my tag for placement.
Ribbon & Bow 2: Copy and paste as a new layer and move to the right.  Using the freehand selection tool, draw a selection around the parts of the bow you don't want and tap delete.
Make sure you're happy with placement of all elements, then hide your background layer and merge visible.
Unhide the background layer and add a new raster layer.  Selections > Select All.  Copy and paste a paper of choice into the selection and apply the mask.  Merge the mask group.
Add your name and all applicable copyright and license information and you're finished!  Thanks for trying my tut, I hope you'll show me your results!
Hugs, Carol
