Burlesque Queen (PTU)

 (Click on tag to see full-size version)

This tutorial was written by me on July 11th, 2010 and is the result of my own ideas.  Any resemblance to any other tutorial is purely coincidental.

PSP Version used: PSP X2, but should work in other versions.

This tutorial assumes you have a good working knowledge of PSP, its tools and functions.

Supplies Needed

Scrap kit of choice: I used a stunning kit by Connie's Creative Chaos called "Coralene".  I LOVE this kit!!  Gorgeous papers, beautiful elements, it's got it all!  You can get it from Aussie Scrap Designs.  Thanks so much for letting me play with your wonderful kit Connie!

2 tubes of choice: I used the beautiful pinup art of Jennifer Janesko with a valid license.  You can purchase her tubes from CILM.

Mask of choice: I used Mask 41 by Weescotslass.

Font of choice: I used Passions Conflict

~~~~~ Let's make a new tag! ~~~~~
Place the mask in your PSP masks folder or a folder of your choice.
Open a new image, 750 x 750, white background.  I like to have lots of room to work, we'll resize later.
From the kit, open frame 4 and resize 80%.  Copy and paste as a new layer, move to the left slightly (see my tag).
Using the magic wand, click inside the frame.  Expand the selection by 5 and invert.  Copy and paste a paper of choice from the kit.  Move below the frame and tap delete.  Do not deselect.
Copy and paste a close up tube of choice and place to your satisfaction within the frame.  Tap delete to remove the excess.  Deselect.
Add a drop shadow of choice to the frame and the tube.  Reduce the opacity of the tube to 70%.  Merge these three layers together.
Copy and paste your main tube as a new layer, move to the left side of the frame.  Drop shadow.
Open butterfly ribbon 1, resize 70%, copy and paste as a new layer.  Move to the bottom of the tag.  Drop shadow.
Open flower 4 and resize 50%.  Copy and paste as a new layer and move to the right side of the frame and move below the ribbon layer.  Use the raster deform tool to tip it to the left and arrange as desired.  Erase the bit the shows beneath the ribbon layer.  Sharpen and add a light drop shadow.
Open flower 8 and resize 50%.  Copy and paste as a new layer, arrange over the first flower layer.  Add a light drop shadow.  Duplicate and mirror, move the copy below the other two flower layers and arrange to your satisfaction.  Merge these three layers together, duplicate and mirror.  Arrange on the left side of the frame, beneath the main tube.
Open vines, resize 70%, then 90%.  Copy and paste as a new layer.  Mirror and flip.  Move below the merged flower layer on the right side of the frame.  Duplicate and mirror, arrange on the left side.  Drop shadow.
Now have some fun decorating your tag with some of the gorgeous elements included in this kit!!  There are flowers, bows, leaves, vines, lots of choices and possibilities!  Resize each as desired and place where you like.  Remember to add drop shadows as you go.
When you're happy with the placement of all elements, hide your background layer and merge visible.
Unhide the background layer and add a new raster layer.  Select all.  Copy and paste a paper of choice into the selection.  Apply the mask and merge the mask group.
Crop and resize your tag to the size you prefer, add your name and all applicable copyright and license information.  Save as a jpg or png and you're finished!  I hope you enjoy your new tag and thanks for trying my tutorial!
Hugs, Carol
