Rainbows and Bunnies

This tutorial was written by me on April 4th, 2010.  Any resemblance to any other tutorial is purely coincidental.

PSP Version used: PSP X2, but should work in other versions.

This tutorial assumes you have a good working knowledge of PSP, its tools and functions.

Supplies Needed

Scrap kit of choice: I used a gorgeous kit by Mystical Illusionz called "Mystical Garden", available to purchase from Dazzling Scraps.  Thank you for letting me play with your beautiful kit Kristen!

Font of choice, I used AL Playbook

Drop shadow used throughout: H&V 2, Opacity 55, Blur 6

Let's make a new tag!

Open a new image, 750 x 750, white background.  We'll resize later.

From the scrap kit, open MG_beadedframe2.  Copy and paste as a new layer.

Activate your magic wand tool and change the settings to: Mode: Shift, Match Mode: None, Contiguous checked, Feather set to 0, Anti-alias checked and Outside selected from the drop-down menu.  Now click inside the frame, and then click again between the inner and outer circles so your selection looks like this:
Open a paper of choice, resize 70% twice.  Copy and paste as a new layer and move below your frame.  Selections > Invert > Delete.  Selections > Select None

Open MG_rayoflight, copy and paste as a new layer above the paper layer.  See my tag for placement.

Open MG_cookiefairy1, copy and paste as a new layer.  Move to the left side of the frame.

Open MG_grass, resize 90%, copy and paste as a new layer.  Move below the poser.  Duplicate and resize 85%, move this layer above the poser and arrange so it looks like she's kneeling in the grass.

Open MG_bunny and resize 50%.  Copy and paste as a new layer between the two grass layers on the right side.  Duplicate, mirror, resize 85% and place to your liking.

Open MG_dove and resize 50%.  Image > Mirror, copy and paste as a new layer.  Move to the top right of your tag.

Open MG_doodle3 and resize 85%.  Copy and paste as a new layer above your background layer.  Duplicate and go to Image > Free Rotate > rotate right 45 degrees.  Merge these two layers together.

Open MG_rainbow and resize 80%.  Copy and paste as a new layer above your background layer and below the doodle layer.  Image > Free Rotate > Rotate left 50 degrees.  Move to the far left side.  Now duplicate and Image > Mirror.  Arrange these two layers so they match up and create one large rainbow.  Merge together and arrange behind your tag, see my tag for reference.

Now use some of the beautiful flower and butterfly elements to decorate your tag.  There's lots to choose from, so have fun with it!

Add drop shadows as needed and once you're happy with the placement of all elements, hide your background layer and merge visible.  Resize the merged layer to a size you like, I resized mine 85%.  Hide your background layer and activate your crop tool, click the Merged Opaque button at the far right of the top tool menu and click the green check mark to crop away the excess canvas.

Now add your name and any applicable copyright and/or license info (if you used a licensed tube instead of the poser).  Save your new tag as a jpg or png and you're done!

Thank you for trying my tut and I'd love to see your results!

Hugs, Carol
